Visionworks - Example of how the exam TV was off-center, and my field of view as a result.

Don't go here if you care about your vision(read why)!!!…read more I set up an exam an arrived on time. They took me back fairly quickly. After working with an assistant I was taken to the exam room. For some unknown reason their TV screen, which the letters you read back to the doctor are on, is not centered, its like 10 inches left of center!!! When I looked through the lenses I told the doctor that, because of the TV being off-center I was only able to see 3 of the 5 letters on the TV, and my right eye had to compensate. This meant that my right eye was looking all the way left just to see the screen, which could impact the exam and the glasses/contacts you get. It took 3 or 4 minutes of explaining to the doctor what should've been simple. I told the doctor that he had to angle the lenses to face the TV since it was quite a bit off-center. I suspect a language barrier because it took him so long to understand. I left. I've never had an eye exam where I had to look all the way left just to see the letters. Every other exam I've had in my 51 years, the letters you read are directly in front of you and you didn't have to look all the way left and strain your eyes to see the screen. I also don't understand why they let the contractor leave without the TV being centered. I had to strain to look that far left. I wouldn't have left a negative review except that I wasted $10 on public transportation, as well as several hours, only for this to happen. I requested another doctor because they said there were 2 doctors in at the time. They refused to let me see the other doctor unless I did all this all over again and waste money on Septa and spent another 3 hours to get to and from there. The exam never happened, but I bet they fraudulently submitted a request for payment from my insurance for an exam that never happened. I have NEVER in my 51 years had a doctors office expect the patient to compensate so that they don't have to have the contractor come fix their mistake, or pay a new contractor to hang the TV correctly. Very unprofessional of them. Just pay the $80 to have it mounted correctly. It was only a 22-24" flatscreen, and could be corrected in 20 minutes.

I had noticed small cracks in the frame but I paid no attention to them. I took them back to the store and they had another pair of the same frames so they popped the lenses in those and charged me $79. Looked for the cracks but there were none. I was OK with that. One month later the replacement frames broke again on the other side. Same cracks were present then that weren't when I got them. Took them back and was charged another $79 even though they were only a month old. Now I am seeing cracks starting to appear and the lens is cracking in the 3rd replacement pair. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and glasses are expensive so I take very good care of them. I have been wearing glasses for decades and have never had a pair break. I have tried to contact Visionworks customer service but have not received any response. The only thing worse than the frames I received from Visionworks is the "customer service" from Visionworks. They do not stand behind their products, beware before you buy. I cannot recommend them

I previously wrote a review of VIVID in 2019, which was nothing but positive. I have now deleted…read morethat review and can say that this place is f'ing HORRIBLE. My most recent appointment at Vivid was on April 11th, 2023. It was for 3:00 pm. I was not taken back for my exam until after 3:45 pm. My husband's most recent appointment was on May 30th, when he needed an eyeglass exam and contact fitting. He also ended up waiting over 40+ minutes to be seen for his appointment. The doctor did the eyeglass exam but did not have the "brand" of contacts in stock to do his contact fitting, so he was told that they would order the contacts and finish the exam at a later date. He was told NOT TO FILL HIS EYEGLASS PRESCRIPTION until the contact fitting was complete, as it would possibly need to be adjusted further. So we paid, out of pocket, for an eye exam and prescription, that he could not use yet. On June 8th at 1:39 pm my husband called Vivid to ask whether the contacts had come in. He was told that brand was "on backorder" and could take up to 4 weeks. On June 26th at 4:30 pm my husband called Vivid again and did not receive a response. Cool. On June 30th at 10:16 am my husband called Vivid and was told to keep waiting - contacts still not on-site. (It's been a month now...) Cool, again. On July 17th at 5:02 pm my husband called and asked to talk to the doctor about options for different contact brands, as the waiting was absurd. We were told she'd call him back "before 6 pm" that day. She did not. On July 18th at 5:25 pm he again called Vivid and was told "yes, I see in your notes that you've been calling. I'll tell the doctor to call you back today." NO CALL BACK. On July 20th at 1:40 my husband called, again, and was sent to a voicemail saying it was outside of business hours and to leave a message. He did. On July 20th at 3:00 pm I called Vivid personally and was also sent to a voicemail saying it was outside business hours. I left a message, but again, it was not outside of business hours. On July 21st the doctor FINALLY called my husband back, saying she could see him the following Sunday for his contact fitting. Did she apologize for the nearly two-month wait? Did she apologize for all of the calls we placed and didn't receive a call back from? No, not once. On the day of my husband's appointment (today), she did not apologize for the runaround, yet again. I do not know how it is OK to keep a client who is paying completely out-of-pocket waiting nearly two months, and not calling them back once out of the how many times we called. The lack of communication and customer service at this place is beyond laughable. I'll be taking my business somewhere else, and so will my husband. I could spit with rage after dealing with them over this crap.

Last year I was in the market for new glasses. I wanted to make sure that there were no changes to…read moremy vision, so I made an appointment to see the optometrist. The appointment was very easy to make. The first appointment, I checked their website to see which VIVID Eyecare location was closest to me and I was able to make my appointment. When I arrived for my FIRST appointment, the wait was not long at all. I answered a few questions regarding COVID and a questionnaire regarding my health and insurance. At the time, I had NO insurance, so I would be paying out of pocket. The first portion of the exam, was going into the room (which was dark for obvious reasons) and sitting at the different machines to check the inside of my eyes. Afterwards, I sat in the waiting area to see the optometrist. Seeing the optometrist, she asked me questions about my health, such as whether or not my diabetes was under control and any medications I might. She was VERY NICE and easy to talk with. It took a few minutes and I had my new readings for glasses. Once I returned home, I had an email waiting for me with my next appointment ALREADY scheduled. THIS YEAR, I popped into my scheduled appointment. Very short wait to be examined. Updated the optometrist on diabetic medication and updated the readings for new eyeglass prescription. I paid out of pocket and it was only $140. And just like last year, I had an email waiting in my inbox with my scheduled appointment for 2023. I would recommend this location! Also it is inside of LensCrafter, so you can come out with your prescription and purchase eyeglasses right there.
