I have gone to this location for over a decade.. and I used to love it. I started to develop significant flashes in my eyesight and went in to have it checked out. The doctor told me they saw nothing and there was a chance within the next 5 weeks my retina could detach. I ended up going to wills eye mid Atlantic retina for a second opinion.. I got diagnosed with Central serous retinopathy (CSR) where fluid builds up behind the retina in the eye causing vision distortion. When I went in for my follow up at Springfield opticians the doctor got angry. She was upset I had gotten a second opinion and basically told me I only have floaters and that I should just leave since I have another appt with wills eye.. (even though she had the report from wills eye in her hand. She didn't even care to read it..) Needless to say, if you're having serious eye issues I would be cautious. read more

I hate to write this review. But I hope to save someone the same issue as me. I have been coming here for many years and they know that I travel a lot. The last time I was there I got a prescription for contacts. They do not like to give you the actual prescription. So that is not a problem. I never ordered contacts and called today to order and they said it has expired. I asked why did someone call and tell me. They said that's my fault. So pretty much I got a exam and prescription for nothing and wasted all that money. If anyone reads this, please demand your prescription and buy the contact online at half the price or less. The girl was rude and did not care that I am out of contacts. Update: Anna called me back and told me my contacts have been discontinued. AGAIN, why did someone not tell me this??? Now I only have the contacts I have in my eyes to get me through for the next 6 months. read more

I really like this store. Really small, but great selections when it comes to eye wear. The prices aren't that bad neither. Instead of only getting my old lens replace in my old frame I ended up purchasing a whole new pair of glasses. I've never hit my eye examined here, so I can't speak on that part of the store. Really before you go any where else give this spot a once over. You might just find something one of those chain franchises don't have. read more

The best glasses I've ever had - thanks to a great staff that took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. I had gone to my usual national eyeglass company for a checkup and new glasses in October 2018 (been a customer for 20 years or more). After going back 6 times for adjustments and finally to return glasses that were wrong (2 times) and being treated as if they were doing me a favor for remaking the glasses that didn't even match the prescription (per the eye doctor on duty). I decided to go somewhere else for a new checkup and glasses. Going to Springfield Opticians was just what I needed. I got a correct vision examination and prescription. My first appointment to get my eyes checked and to search for new frames went very smoothly. My appt was for 2pm and they were right on time and very courteous and knowledgeable. A good selection of frames too. I had narrowed it down to 3 pairs and could not make up my mind. One of the ladies came over to help me figure it out. She liked the pair on me that cost the least, so that was a big plus. I wound up getting those frames and I am very happy with them. read more

They gave me multiple trials for my contacts instead of just pushing a sale and put me in a great pair of stylish Ray Ban glasses. During this emergency time, I had a problem with my glasses and wasn't able to wear them. I called Springfield Opticians in Holmes and was told by a very helpful woman that someone could help me. I drove there, called again, and was told to park in the back where I gave my glasses to a very nice and helpful man. He took them in the store and brought them out to me in perfect shape. He used all of the precautions I could have hoped for: gloves, bag for the glasses, distance. And for all of that service there was no charge. I felt very relieved and thankful. read more

I went to Springfield Opticians because they are local to me and have a large selection of frames to choose from. Although I did end up getting new lenses for my frames they were still very helpful in assisting me. Gary was very pleasant to work and offered advice about frame style and color. Most of the staff seems very committed to customer service and I would definitely go back again next year when choosing new frames. read more

I have never in my life been more disappointed with the business this is supposed to be a business and they treat their new customers like crap I called there about a week ago and was on the phone with this very nasty woman. we were discussing my insurance and because I did not understand what she was saying to me she became very rude almost yelling at me I asked her what her name was she did not want to tell me her name was Gail. I asked to speak with her supervisor but she explained that she runs all 3 offices, she is the manager of this business and there is no one else to speak to I will never go to this office I will never recommend anyone to go to this office I will blast it all over social media this woman has no right to be in business. Let me start off by saying this is by far the absolute worst experience I've ever had at an eye doctor or for any doctor for that matter. I went for my eye exam four months ago and they decided to switch my prescription and make it higher. I was getting headaches so had to go back for another appointment, and wait two weeks for my eye glasses which wasn't that big of a deal, except they said they'd order me trial contacts which never came in. So after 4 weeks of waiting I had to call and see if the contacts were in and they had forgotten to order them so I waited another two weeks to get them. So when I got them they were in the wrong prescription that were too high for my eyes. They told me I needed to come back on for another appointment. So after two months and three appointments I still didn't have my contacts. A week ago I called to order contacts and the receptionist told me she didn't understand the prescription and wanted to me to come in for another appointment and I said absolutely not given the fact I've been to 3 appointments already. So they agreed to order them. When I went into pick up my contacts they were for the wrong eye ( I only have a prescription in one eye ) and it was for the wrong prescription. When I nicely said I'm just a little frustrated because I've been 4 months without my Contacts the man screamed at me in front of all the other customers saying I was a "drama queen" and I was "making something out of nothing and needed to get over myself". When I called to complain to management they didn't seem to give a fuck. I'll never ever go back here again. Good luck to anyone who tries to go here. read more
