Customer service
Jennifer B.

I love Warby Parker as a brand. Their store is simple and chic. Their glasses are affordable, they have many options, and you can try on anything on in store. I've been going to their different locations for years including this one. This visit had poor customer service however and I will not be going to this spot again. No one greeted me and I was in the store for about 30 minutes and it was not crowded. I purchased 2 pairs of glasses and had to approach the worker myself as well as ask her about their current promotion. The other two staffers on the floor joked and laughed at something they were viewing on a tablet almost the whole time. Not the customer service this place used to be. Try the Cherry Hill or Ardmore location. Much better service. Hoping this was an off day for them. 3 stars is mostly for product and store layout.

Great exam and frame selection. In and out in a hour and a half. Definitely recommend!

Ask the Community - Warby Parker Walnut St

Do your eye doctors only see for routine eye exams or do they see for other issues, astigmatism, allergy eyes, and can they prescribe good progressive bifocals? Do they participate with most major insurance?

We do offer other types of medical exams besides refractions. Schedule an appointment through our website or give us a call at 888.492.7297 and we can help!

I just got the home try on and I know which glasses I want. Can I go to the store and have my prescription filled all in one day instead of waiting for them to ship to me?

Great question! We do not make same-day glasses. Once you place your order (even if you place it in store), it'll take 7-10 business days to arrive.

I had arrived about 30 minutes early for my appointment. I knew I was early and was planning on…read morebrowsing the frames while I wait. As soon as I walked in, the team assisted me. I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen by the Optometrist. The Vision Technician and the Optometrist were caring and most importantly, they listened. After the appointment, I had the pleasure of meeting a sales associate/vision specialist, Carla. I communicated that I was paying out of pocket and she handled this with care and understanding. Carla made specific recommendations and was able to get me to the best deal for what I was looking for. She explained the processes In a way that I would understand. Carla made me feel confident and comfortable with my purchases. Shout out to Carla and the wonderful team! Looking forward to picking up my glasses soon!

Before describing my experience, I want to preface this by saying that I am not someone who…read moretypically complains or leaves negative reviews. It takes a lot for me to feel strongly enough about an experience to publicly share a negative one. I was seen by Diane Mathew, O.D., for an eye exam, and I had to bring my 7 month old baby because I did not have anyone available to watch her during the appointment. During the exam, my baby began crying. While Diane was entering information into my chart, I briefly stood up to check on and comfort her. Diane then said to me, verbatim, "Ok I need you to sit back down. She can cry." I responded that I only wanted to check on my baby. I did not argue further because I was upset and did not want the interaction to become overly emotional or confrontational. As a clinician myself, I found this interaction to demonstrate extremely poor bedside manner. I understand that certain portions of an examination require a patient to remain seated and that appointments need to proceed efficiently. However, there are respectful and compassionate ways to communicate that. Telling a mother that her crying 7 month old "can cry" when she simply stands up to check on her baby felt dismissive, unnecessarily insensitive, and completely lacking in empathy. After the exam, I called my husband and spoke to him about what had happened. Apparently, members of the staff overheard that I was upset and informed Diane. She then approached me and said that she had heard I was upset and wanted to apologize. I told her directly that her comment had been extremely rude and that her overall demeanor toward me had felt inappropriate. Her response was essentially that she was sorry and that she was "not that type of person." She then walked away appearing visibly frustrated when I did not immediately accept the apology. Unfortunately, the apology did not feel sincere or reflective. She approached me only after other staff members alerted her that I was upset, and when I explained why her conduct had affected me, the focus seemed to shift toward defending her character rather than acknowledging the impact of what she had said. An apology should center the person who was hurt, not place pressure on that person to provide immediate reassurance or forgiveness. I do want to make it clear that the rest of the staff was very pleasant. In particular, the gentleman at the front was kind and helpful throughout my visit. He even opened the door for me as I struggled to enter when I first got there. At one point, he expressed concern that he might get in trouble or lose his job because I planned to leave a negative review. I reassured him that my experience with Diane had nothing to do with him. He treated me very well, and I sincerely hope this review is not held against him or any other staff member who was helpful and professional. Patients should be treated with care, patience, and basic empathy; not made to feel as though they are simply an appointment to get through. A parent should not be spoken to dismissively for responding to her crying infant. Unfortunately, Diane's conduct, followed by an apology that felt defensive and insincere, left me deeply disappointed with the care and professionalism I experienced.

Dr. Wu is just what you want in an eye doctor, competent, efficient, and thorough, but also friendly and personable. The salespeople out front were very helpful and they have a nice range of frames at various price points. I decided not to get my glasses there, but they gave me my prescription without an issue (stores are required to by law, but tons of places will try to hold your prescription hostage to force you to buy contacts/glasses through them). One of the best Groupon experiences I've had, and one of the best eye doctor experiences I've ever had and I've worn glasses for 15+ years. I plan to use this place for my annual eye exam. Definitely recommend this place!

I have tried to get this fixed, but the place has not been open during the hours that they are supposed to be. I went on a Wednesday, and there was a sign that said they would be open at 1:30, and no one showed up to open the store all afternoon. The glasses cost a lot of money for the lenses and frames - you would think they would come back quickly and made correctly so I wouldn't have to try coming back to get them fixed. This business seems shoddy to me - it's deceiving because they are in such a nice location, and the prices they charge are so high.
