Just got my eye exam with Dr. Bui, and I CAN SEE so much better! She was very thorough, answered my questions and concerns, and she also guided me while explaining the process and details of the eye exam. I'm thoroughly impressed, and I would definitely recommend Dr. Bui to my family and friends--what a superb doctor!!! FYI: the office also accepted my Davis Insurance. In addition to optometry, Andrew from the optical department was top notch! He helped me with the selection of my eyeglasses frames, explained the benefits, and what different specials Target's offering, in addition to what my vision insurance benefits would cover to help me navigate the different options, and prices for ordering my contacts and eyeglass lenses, and which items will be mailed to my house or when & what to pick up at Target when the items arrive. So, whew! I'm glad he was able to help me out. Both departments are very courteous and professional. And as a first time customer here for eye checkup and eye-ware purchases, I'm VERY impressed. I scheduled an appointment for today only to be told that it was scheduled 2 weeks from now for whatever reason, and that someone else already had my slot. WHY. Staff wasn't that friendly. Iris had nothing to say about it till I said I was disappointed. I barely got a low volume "sorry". She called another location for me which i appreciated, however I overall felt neither she nor her coworker gave a flying fuck. Unreliable and undependable staff. read more

My experience here was good. Not the best but I don't really expect the best from most places. My exam went smooth and I thought the optometrist was a very kind person. When going to pick up my glasses I felt like the prescription and fit was kind of off. Instead of asking me questions about how they felt, the lady giving the glasses to me started taking the whole situation personally and kept telling me I needed to wear it after I wasn't wearing my other glasses all day. The thing is, I haven't been wearing my glasses all day so as I kept countering her arguments she just got more and more defensive and really aimed to just get me out the door. I really wish she could have asked me a couple of follow up questions about how they felt on my face because they could have used a little bit of tuning. (tightening some screws) They're not all aggressive though. There was one lady who kindly help me pick out glasses. I'm really glad she was the one because I felt like if the aggressive one helped me out that day, I would have been relentlessly bothered to getting the most expensive lenses. BEST SERVICE EVER... The cool girl with the pink hair was amazing friendly and informative. I called to check on the status of my glasses she said they would be in tomorrow... well I called and David was extremely rude and said they arent there and he doesnt know his password and to call back. I called today Saturday and the girl with the pink hair said they had been sitting there with a note on them to call me to pick them up *note from her* the lady who did my exam older short hair curly I think Stephanie not 100% sure was super nice as well... With 24 years in the eye wear biz she knows her stuff and is very good at it. She juggled multiple customers including my difficult self, as well as phone calls without missing a beat! They will clean and adjust your glasses for you with a smile too. I got two pairs, one for the car and shooting range and one of writing reviews....well so I can see to write them anyway. This is my main eye place due to my insurance, the variety of frames weren't to bad but I had to pick mine out in the men's section, seemed like my type more but it's ok I'm happy with it. I did have an appointment when I arrived, there was 2 people ahead of me, and only 1 person assisting, assisting ALL OF US lol. So my appointment wait was pretty long. Had to go back and forth to the frames on the men's and women's section to kill time. Dr. Lam is so nice, I appreciate the patience she has. I had to go back many times to pick number 5 or 6 etc etc to clear my vision lol. The only person that was assisting us was a guy, only guy there forgot his name but he's so nice and patient with everyone. Poor dude had to deal with us all at once though. read more

This place is terrible! Do not ever go here! It has been more than 6 months and I am still waiting for a refund. First, I waited 4 weeks for glasses. It was completely wrong prescription. I had to make another appointment to recheck my eyes. They sent out again for glasses. Six weeks later still no glasses. They said it was due to Covid so to be patient. After the 5th week, I was trying to get a refund and the manager at this location would not call me back to follow up on my refund. Finally I call her back again and again and I finally get her to work on my refund. Instead of giving me a credit back to my card she says they will send me a check in the mail and it will take 4 weeks. Whatttt???? After 6 weeks, no check. i try to call the corporate office and they only have a chat option. They direct me to an inquiry form and said i would get a response in 3 days. It has been another 2 weeks and nothing. I have been trying every option. Now my bank will not dispute the charge because it is out of the date range. It has been a nightmare. The manager is horrible there. She talks way too much and talks over you when you talk to her. I call the store and no one answers or she answers and says she is with a customer and does not call back. Half the time no one answers with no voicemail option. I have spent so many hours trying to get help and nothing. The phone number just says your party is not answering and hangs up. Stay clear of this place! read more

Dr. T and Samantha at Target Optical in The Collection in Oxnard are AMAZING! I had my eyes checked 6 months ago by a different optometrist. He was someone I had gone to before and had really liked. This time though after I got my new distance glasses I swore that my prescription was off. My reading glasses seemed to be working fine though. I found out that Samantha ( )had opened the new Collection location so I decided to go and talk with her about it and see if I was able to use my Insurance to have my eyes rechecked early. I was so I figured what the heck let's see someone new. Dr. T rechecked them and they were off by quite a bit. She even showed me the difference between no prescription, my previous prescription and how they were with the new one. Oh so much better. Now Samantha...she is amazing. She has worked in the field for 24 yrs. and knows what she is doing inside and out.. She listens to what you want and need based on what you do. For me that is easy. I want 2 different pairs. One for reading and one for distance. Simple. My hardest part is picking out frames. Now with that I have seen people just try to sell you whatever to get you out the door. Samantha and Alex as well, will take the time to find something that really looks nice on you expensive or not, doesn't matter. You walk out looking great and feeling confident in your purchase. I saw it not just with me, but with other customers that walked in the door. Here is an example of how good they are there. My husband Jim is a tough one with 3 different prescriptions. he has 3 different prescriptions. One for distance one mid range and one for reading. his last exam his mid range was not rechecked. So his glasses were being done based on his prescriptions and no one could get them to work in the configuration he needed so he was bouncing around between 3 different pairs. He, like myself, had his eyes rechecked. Samantha knew that his bifocal line had to be 2mm higher because of how tall he is and where he sits and holds things. 2 mm makes a big difference No one else has been able to figure that out. Horrible experience with Target optical. The lady who ordered my new pair of glasses in Moorpark was great- she even set up an apt. for me in Ventura the following day due to eye issues that were concerning me. However, after extending my workday to stay in the area and make my Ventura apt. I was told there was another pt. who was bumped from 5:30 to 6 (my apt. time) and I could no longer be seen because the dr. didn't want to stay. I was so upset, I actually cried out of frustration and worry for my vision change issue. The dr. came out of her other apt. with an attitude and told me without an exam she "would just refer me out anyways". (Which I would have been fine with HAD she actually checked my eyes) The manager of the dept. then called and offered an option of driving to another target (Oxnard) to be seen. It was stated that I needed to get there in about 10 min as she was staying open for me. I ran to my car drove there quickly...8 min to be exact. When I arrived a woman told me the dr had left for the night. Another customer also heard this dr. making rude comments as she left. This is NOT how you do business. I was offered discounts for all the trouble.... keep them I won't be returning. read more

My star is for the service. The technicians I've had on two separate occasions have been so unbelievably rude I cannot believe they still have jobs. I suggest making the trip to Ventura Target Optical instead just to avoid the service I encountered. I came at 5:30 once to buy contacts, that I already have a prescription for, and the young lady told me she didn't get a lunch and was complaining about how she couldn't help me. In that time she could've turned around and rang up my contacts. Another encounter I had was one lady who repeatedly misspelled my name and made me miss my appointment because she kept saying she couldn't verify my insurance, but she was too distracted and not listening to me. I had a 'contact fitting'. Target cannot provide a contact prescription until you've had your fitting. I went an had an exam. They had to order the contacts I wanted for my fitting. They told me about a week. After about a week I called to check - I was told that they would call me when the contacts were in. Now its been at least 6 weeks, no word from Target. They were so rude the first time I called that I won't be calling back. I paid for a contact fitting that I never received. Target Optical is apparently run by rude people and criminals. First of all, the doctor was amazing! She deserves 5 stars. The reason I am giving it one star is because when I ordered my glasses I noticed it was the wrong prescription. I told the worker and she told me my eyes needed to adjust to them for 2 weeks. I told her again, I believe they are wrong. She called her bitch of a manger over and she gave me attitude right away, didn't help me at all. She told me I had to make an appointment again with the doctor if I wanted to return the glasses. So I made an appointment with the doctor, right away the doctor noticed the prescription was wrong and told me "really they told you to make an appointment for this, they can check the prescription of the glasses with the machine to see what prescription the glasses have, no need for an appointment" The doctor was very helpful. She walked over with me to the lens department and explained to the worker why they let this happen. The worker had attitude and acted like the victim, but the worse one was the bitch of a manger. The doctor told them the same thing I told them. So hopefully now they order the right ones. Horrible staff at the lens department but awesome doctor. I am EXTREMELY busy, I live by an Agenda so when I schedule an appointment I will be there!! Well that's exactly what happened I scheduled my appointment on Tuesday for the Following Monday I NEVER received a confirmation call which is fine because I knew what I scheduled but here I am showing up to my appointment and just to be told I had NO appointment it was an error I stated please confirm my # it was correct I asked when was I called of such mistake the young lady went to her computer and said the day after my call AS I SAID I LIVE by my agenda so that was a lie but what upset me the MOST was when she stated "well it's not like your insurance had any coverage for the appointment" if I had No coverage that means Nothing to me I have money I can pay!! I am making an appointment because I'm having issues with My Vision having coverage or not I needed to be seen my Vision has no money limit!!! Go see Dr T. I can tell being 57 and going to the eye doctor for 20 years I can tell you she gives a good check up. I used my VSP and the nice thing is she's not selling you glasses. You can go see Alix next store at the Target glasses shop or go were ever. Alix saved me a lot at the Target I glass shop. And there young nice and EZ on the eyes. read more

I will not recommend Target Optical at all. I had an eye exam on Jan 3rd and my glasses was ordered the same day. It is now Feb 2nd and I still don't have my glasses. I received a voicemail stating it will be another week and I will get a phone call once the glasses arrived. I have never dealt with an optical place that took more than a month to fill (hoping it will only be another week). Samantha, the Manager was very nice and helpful at the time of our first visit but somehow unhelpful and unpleasant when I spoke to her about the status of my order. The promised date was Jan 12th, another staff named Elizabeth showed me the computer that showed shipping date of Jan 23rd last time I was there on the 23rd. Samantha's reasons weren't acceptable. She sounded annoyed over the phone and said that Alex (who I never dealt with before) will be checking on the status. Very disappointing experience in representing Target reputation. read more
