I can't say enough about Dr. Stevens - great understanding of how to foster Patient/Doctor relationships. I had some concerns regarding past vision problems (and potential future issues as well) which he took the time to address very thoroughly. He also provided a plethora of medical insight regarding LASIK vs PRK procedures (which was super helpful). His exam rhythm, vocal tone and quick wit humor throughout my visit - too cool for school! The various eye testing offered and provided was very impressive, as was the detailed review of these results provided by Dr. Stevens. I left FVC with a feeling that my vision was in very capable, very caring hands. Kudos to all!

Dr. Dea did a thorough exam to get me set up with my first pair of glasses ever. She explained things well. I then went over to the glasses section to pick out a pair of frames and had my measurements taken and the technician also let me try on glasses outside to see what they look like in the daylight. I returned 2 weeks later to have my eyes dilated for the rest of the exam as I was not able to have them dilated at my first visit. I had my 2nd exam with Dr. Rebekah Klein. She was great too! It was in this visit that my glasses were ready for pick up. I got progressive glasses because I have some vision loss for distance and it's been really hard to read on my phone. So they are pretty much worn only for driving and when in my phone. I feel I am still getting used to the glasses when driving. I also want to comment that the front desk staff have been nice and have returned my calls quickly when I have had to contact the office.

She is very thorough and explains things well. I'm also very impressed with the staff at Ventura Optometric Vision Care. The workers at the front desk are unfailingly courteous and efficient. Let me give you an example of how efficient this place is. When your glasses are ready, the office sends you a notification. Contrary to what you might expect, you don't need to schedule an appointment to pick them up. You can just drop by anytime and they will have someone available to take care of any adjustments needed to ensure a comfortable fit. So convenient! The location, on Victoria is also very convenient. As is the private parking lot. The waiting room is spacious and reasonably comfortable. There are magazines for people without phones. There is also a children's play area. Oh, and they have a pretty huge selection of frames here too. Frames for days. So many frames. I mean really a lot. Maybe like a thousand. I'm not kidding. Maybe more. She is so nice and greets you with a genuine smile. I am disabled and Cindy made accommodations for me. During the test, Cindy made sure I was comfortable and checked on me to see if I was doing okay. Cindy treated me with dignity and respect. Absolutely terrible experience I have ever had with an eye doctor…read more This is someone I had been seeing for years - including the older Dr. Funnell. However, my last visit in 2025 was my final visit. This doctor tried to diagnose me something very serious and recommended that I see a specialist that wasn't even qualified to diagnose the condition he suggested. He also stated what he said were facts about the illness, which were incorrect. Needless to say, he scared me to such an extent...that I did go to a specialist. I didn't have the condition. The handling of it was callous and impersonal. I have moved on to another eye doctor and will never visit this one again.
