Chauntee (auto correct Haunted) she is the true hero of my review! She gets the award for customer service, compassion and a great sense of patience and humor. She helped me and my partner until the very end! Chauntee, made sure my fear of getting older and the change in a person's life can be fun and a much brighter place when you can SEE it ! I haven't been to this location in over 15yrs, but after an awful experience at their rival across town, I decided to give them another try. From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. The tech who handled the first half of the exam was very nice, knowledgeable, friendly, and great at the small talk. Next I met with the doctor who was amazing! Probably the best I've ever had. So nice and I felt like he really took his time and made sure he got my prescription right. Something I can't say about the other guys across town. The salespeople who helped me out were great as well. Very happy with the process. I didn't feel too pressured to spend outside my budget. Another thing--they force you to have retina imaging at your own expense. This shoots a blinding light into your eyes and I'm light sensitive so it really affects me. I don't mind it once in a while, but as a healthy person, I should not be forced to have any exam that I do not want every single year. Especially at my expense. I have already found someone for next year that does not require this procedure, that takes EyeMed. I have been to them in the past and they are very good. read more

They don't deserve even one star. They straight out stole wife's glasses. Manager Shante "loved my wife's glasses" rare hard to find Raybans and they someone went missing....huh!! Yeah that makes sense!. Tried calling back a few times and get no response from them and manager doesn't know a number for anyone above her. These people are thieves do not take your glasses here. We are not giving up though and just wanted to make sure anyone reading this is warned. Good luck. read more

Rafa and I think the manager Glenn saved me! We were on a trip and already hours away from home, before I realized I left my glasses at home. I called the store to check if they had the lenses necessary to make me a new pair same day. They said they did. After getting to the store they helped me pick out a frame and get the process going. They said 3 hours it would be ready and 3hours later it was done and ready to go. While they might not be the cheapest store, the customer service and lab on-site more then makes up for it. I have never written a bad or good review in my life, for anything, ever - but feel the need to after the experience I just had. I had an emergency this morning and have no contacts, which I need to drive and generally live life. I booked an appointment here this morning, someone called to confirm the appointment, I paid $20 to Uber here since I can't drive, they check me in, and then 5 minutes later someone comes over to tell me that my appointment is too close to the doctor's lunch and they can't see me. I asked her what I was supposed to do, and she shrugged and offered no help, just repeated that the doctor would be upset to miss their lunch. I said that someone called to confirm the appointment, and they should have told me then that there was a time conflict and I wouldn't have disrupted my work day and paid $20 to get here. Her reply was that "he is new." What a great excuse! I asked what I was supposed to do now and again, just got a shrug and a snarky attitude. As if today wasn't already stressful, this was the cherry on top. 0 stars, don't recommend! read more

I wish poor customer experiences were not the new normal but sadly it seems it is, everywhere. Even reputable companies like LensCrafters are effected. I went in the the store yesterday to browse for a new pair and was greeted by a gentleman who was pleasant enough- I believe he was a manager. Once I chose a pair and sat down with a younger gal to place the order I was met with very poor customer skills. The gal seemed annoyed she had to do her job, tried to talk to me like I was a child, and even abruptly got up to go chat with a coworker because I apparently was taking too long deciding. I got a very bad vibe and won't be back. Sorry you work in a dilapidated mall and you're grouchy, but don't take it out on your customers ladies. read more

I'm wondering if my prescription is actually correct . The doctor on duty was so fast in switching the focus on the mechanism that gets you your prescription that he didn't give me time to see what was the better choice for my vision . They really try to upsell you too and they are sneaky about it . They were trying to sell me lenses telling me that they are worth over 1000 but I get them at the discount price of 277. I mean it felt like i was at a car dealership. I got bad energy from there. I hope my prescription is good so I don't have to go back there . read more

This place is awful. I went here because I thought it would be quick and simple, but it wasn't. I was told by the staff multiple times that my insurance was accepted, only to find out after the appointment that nope, retail stores don't accept insurance. My first prescription was way too strong, I called to tell them and asked if I needed another appointment and they said no, I could just come in. I went in the next day and they turned me away saying that I needed an appointment. I went in again for a second exam and the doctor ordered trial lenses for me. When the contacts came in, they tried to get me to come in yet again for the fifth time for a fitting, even though I've been wearing this brand my whole life and I literally just had two contact lens fittings. They never call back when they say they will, their front staff is rude, the wait is long even with an appointment, the store is filled with flies and the guy helping me at one point even SWALLOWED a fly. Please do yourself a favor and go to a real optometrist. read more

Not a people friendly or pet friendly business and questionable prescription quality. The staff is rude and unqualified, my wife was told she couldn't shop with a sealed Starbucks coffee cup in her hand. When we returned to pick up her prescriptions (which my wife says don't seem right) we were carrying our tiny five pound dog in our hands and got kicked out of the store. While I understand it's within the purview of the business to make those decisions, not sure I understand what risk a tiny five pound dog represents while being safely secured by its owner. Bad customer experience and needless to say we will no longer patronize LensCrafters at any of their locations. Warby Parker is a exceedingly better customer experience and every prescription we have had filled there has been spot on. Highly recommend Warby as a much better option. read more

I have been coming here for years. The one thing that keeps me coming is the staff. They are not pushy. They allow you to pick out your own frames and they have a good selection. I had been using this location for at least three years possibly more. It's the usual grind for a giant corporation like waiting 20 minutes even with an appointment so by now we're all used to that. What I started to find unusual about this location was their scheduling in that I would get robocalls throughout the year, as many as three per year reminding me of an appointment that I'd never made. It became relevant today as I had an appointment for 4:00 for which I arrived at 3:50, when I gave the ill-trained Woman at the desk my name she assured me that not only did I not have an appointment but that I didn't show up for an appointment on December 5th. which was of course one of the appointments they just randomly booked for me she further informed me that had I actually booked an appointment that I would have a confirmation email and then she simply walked away leaving me at the reception desk. So I pulled up the confirmation email complete with confirmation number and waited for her to come back, I showed her the email, she seemed confused and offered me an appointment for some time next week. LensCrafters is never fun, but this location at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura is nothing short of a disaster so I would recommend that if you keep any sort of a schedule in your life that you not depend on these folks because you could certainly have a similar experience. The sales associate I last dealt with was nice but was not that knowledgeable in what needed to be done. After my glasses were finalized, someone came to the desk where we were abs told me I HAD to pay to get a certain lens or the manufacturer wouldn't make them. It was $90 additional for what she was telling me so I declined abs went else where. It's crazy, no matter how good my insurance is, I always end up paying some exuberant amount over. I came here a few weeks ago for an exam and some updated specs and overall was satisfied, especially compared to the last place I went to, which had a zany optometrist, indifferent employees and equipment that looked more at home in a optometrist museum than a functioning clinic. They were the polar opposite here: The equipment was modern, the good Doctor was perky, sharp and pleasant and the others were not too far behind her. My only complaint was the long wait; it was a reminder of why we're referred to as "patients" in a medical context but in a world increasingly filling up with understaffed businesses and overworked staff, it's hard to hold that against them. A particularly fussy and finicky customer was taxing my patience, which was rewarded with a $50 discount, so it does pay to be a nice guy now and then. read more

I've been using this shop for years without a problem, till now. I made an appointment for contact lenses. When I arrived, I mentioned to two different people, including the woman who did the exam, that I was looking forward to getting back into contacts. SO the exam is over and I'm giving a prescription. When I attempt to buy the lenses, I'm told the prescription is only for glasses! I called to try to get what I needed. The person who answered checked my appointment, and confirmed that it WAS for contacts. He said he didn't know how they had made that mistake, but I could come back and get the contact lens exam...............for an additional $100!! I had to wait for another 30 minutes to see the optometrist. Then I waited again to be shown options for my lenses. I am using my existing frames, and they still wanted over $1100 for reading lenses.
