    Poorly made, crap glasses.
    J C.

***Terrible customer service, scams, and overpriced crap glasses. Returned both pairs the day after I got them*** Found a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses I liked here. As I was purchasing them the price was crazy high. Without even asking me, the girl rang me up for the most expensive lenses. There are five levels. They're so expensive because they're Ray-ban and they have "clear vision". I asked what that meant and she said "it makes your vision clearer". She had no idea what it meant or why they were charging for it. Which means they're just telling employees to overcharge customers for nothing. Huge red flag. So I tell her I want different lenses, fine. Three weeks go by. No contact from them. I call and ask about my glasses. The woman on the phone- in not a very nice way- says "we texted you" and told me a phone number that wasn't mine. So that was all they did to try to get a hold of me. One text to a wrong number. And I know they had my email because she asked for it when I bought the glasses and THEY PUT ME ON THEIR MAILING LISTS. So they can't contact me for my glasses that were already paid for but they can put me on their mailing lists. Fantastic. I pick up my glasses uneventfully. When I get them in my hands I'm surprised at how cheap they feel. For the price you would expect sturdier glasses. These felt cheap. When I looked at the sunglasses closer I noticed the plastic is poorly put together on the hinge and the lenses aren't in correctly. All around bad production. Two hours later I drop the glasses. Not thrown, not dropped from six floors up. Holding them at my waist they fall. And both lenses are VERY scratched. Like, too much. I have a pair of glasses that have lasted for five years and don't have scratches like this. I have a pair from See that I threw- without a case- into my backpack for school every day and they don't have a scratch on them. So they're obviously not made well. I called and asked if they would replace the lenses and was informed that they're "scratch resistant not scratch proof". I know they're not indestructible. But a drop once from waist high shouldn't scratch both lenses. How long are these supposed to last a month? A year? Two years? For hundreds of dollars they should have some staying power. Returned both pairs. The service and quality of glasses was the worst. To add insult to the whole thing when the woman was returning them I could see her screen. There was a question that asked if there was anything wrong with the item and she selected "NO". There was absolutely something wrong with both pairs of glasses. Not one employee did their job well. They tried to scam me into more expensive lenses, were unhelpful when they scratched, then pretended nothing was wrong when I returned them. Paid $150 less at Warby Parker for significantly better glasses.

I just had an eye exam and bought a new (very nice looking) pair of glasses. Erin Loucks saw that nothing about the process was other than professionally done, with keen attention to every detail. This was my first visit to Target Optical. It will be the place I return to for my vision care needs

I just wanted some decent glasses (nothing super fancy) and I quickly found affordable frames that I liked. Before purchasing them, I shopped around at multiple nearby private optometrists, and found that Target's frames were by far the most affordable. Since Target isn't considered "in-network" with VSP vision insurance, I went to a nearby private optometrist to get the lenses, hoping to get a better discount. Turned out the private optometrist was going to charge me (JUST for lenses - not frames): - $25 "materials" co-pay - $175 for hi-index 1.67 lenses - $75 for anti-reflective coating I ended up going back to Target, and got the same 1.67 hi-index lenses with anti-reflective coating for $150, INCLUDING my $100 frames!!!! That price was with my VSP insurance which Target was somehow able to apply even though they're not a VSP provider, plus a $25 off coupon I had gotten in the mail. I saved over $200 on a simple pair of glasses by going to Target instead of a private optometrist

I wonder why my experience wasn't like all the five-star raves here, because honestly, this person…read moredoes NOT deserve that. To preface: I understand if an optometrist suspects something, they refer you to an ophthalmologist. That's normal. I also understand nerves can look "questionable," and I'm fine with being referred. In fact, I loved the ophthalmologist I ended up seeing. What bothers me is the sketchy way this all went down, which left me with a very suspicious gut feeling. First off, the "exam room" was basically a long storage closet with old papers stacked everywhere, a chair, and i actually think it was the closet -- just fully not a professional medical office. It felt dirty and disorganized, 100% total opposite of every other optometrist I've ever seen. First red flag. Then during the exam (not dilated), he kept making "hmm...uhhh..." noises while looking through his lens. When I asked what was wrong, he literally said: "When I look at your eye, I SEE GLAUCOMA." I was shocked. I had just turned 40 three months ago, have zero family history, and every other optometrist has told me my nerves looked healthy -- one even showed them on a big screen and called them "healthy nerve examples." I told him this and he replied, "Well, glaucoma can show up later," then added I "may need" laser treatment -- even though when he finally did a pressure test, it was normal. If my nerves looked suspicious, fine -- just say that and refer me. But declaring "I see glaucoma" without proof, without even explaining what glaucoma even is, was just so beyond unprofessional and unnecessarily frightening. ok SO the BIGGEST red flag: he insisted that I ONLY SEE HIS "friend" in Culver City, and (i am literally quoting him verbatim) "no ophthalmologists in Pasadena or this area are any good." Excuse me? We live in Los Angeles -- one of the biggest cities in the world, with UCLA, USC, and countless world-class specialists -- not the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, I'm sitting in this dude's gross closet of an office, thinking, "Does he not see where he's practicing? He expects me to trust this??" The irony was laughable if it hadn't been so alarming. Finally, despite acing my vision test, he told me I needed low-grade glasses. At checkout, the staff kept tacking on add-ons I didn't ask for ("blue light $60, anti-reflection $30, another $30..."), and I walked out $80 poorer for glasses I didn't need. I left in shock and immediately called my mom and brother (both MDs), who were just as stunned. I refused to call his "friend" and instead went to a reputable ophthalmologist my brother recommended. That doctor did a full workup with multiple scans, tests, and dilation, and told me my optic nerves are completely healthy -- just naturally a bit larger than average. He also confirmed I DO NOT need glasses. So this optometrist was the ONLY one who's ever told me I "have glaucoma." To me, it felt like fear tactics and upselling, and taking advantage of a woman he assumed was naïve. My advice: do NOT go here. If you're told something serious, get a second opinion from a board-certified ophthalmologist before you spend money or agree to treatment.

My experience tells me before you prescribe the lens, make sure to double check the price and how…read moreare they going to charge you. I got an eye allergy in Nov and came in to check my eyes. So doctor assumed this might be caused by my current contact lens. He recommended of using a pair of weekly contacts instead of my current monthly contacts since I don't wear it that much. I fellow through and scheduled another appointment for a new pair of weekly contact 2 months later in Jan. Here is what got me frustrated... I came in and thought I can just try this pair of contact and pay for this pair of contact only since this is a new trial and I don't have vision insurance. I also just did my eye check up in Nov for my eye allergy. However, this is not what I've expected. He said he is a business man. He can't just give me the trial contact lenses to try on. Also based on the California law, I have to start over my eye exam every once a year. And my prescription has been expired in June so I have to redo it again. WTH!! I never heard that I have to do the eye exam each year and the prescription can ONLY last for an year?!! And when I looked up online, the prescription can last up to 2 years. Anyway, good thing I asked in more details before doing everything else. I walked out this eye center at last and decide to prescribe a new pair of contact from Costco instead. While I am having no insurance coverage for vision, there is no point for me to pay another eye exam AGAIN in cash + a new pair of contact lenses to try. This is not a right a way for doing business. That's truly a ripped off.

However, when I was contacted to pick up my order, only one pair was available--the tinted pair--and staff could not locate or account for the second pair. This was frustrating because I expected both pairs to be ready, especially since they were part of the same order. The lack of communication and organization made the process inconvenient and left me without the full set of glasses I need for work. The staff was polite, but the situation should have been handled more efficiently, and I should have been notified ahead of time if there was an issue with the order. I hope this can be improved moving forward so others don't experience the same problem.

I am very nearsighted and he always takes care of me. This year I had a problem with my mono vision. A few months back I began noticing that I had to use reading glasses for everything. It was really annoying, especially when I could no longer read menus, receipts, or even the buttons in my car!! He took the time to diagnose my problem and fixed me up. I no longer need to use my reading glasses 100% of the time and my mono vision has been restored! Thank you, Dr. Teagle and your staff. I will see you next year.

I can't say enough good things about the staff and the personal care I received. Dr. Baroni was especially amazing--she took the time during and after my exam to make sure I was completely happy with my lenses. We had an in-depth conversation about my eye health, treatment options, and she even gave me helpful over-the-counter suggestions for ongoing care. She was really present during the exam and not distracted or rushed. Artin was upbeat and really helpful in guiding me through lens color options and picking the best style for me. His input made the whole process easy and enjoyable--I felt supported in making choices that fit both my style and needs. If Artin's not available, Jasmine is there, and she is amazingly kind and patient--you're in great hands either way. The communication here is excellent, and I walked away not only with a clearer vision but also a little education--turns out, polarizing my lenses was a game-changer! Plus, there's ample parking, which is always a bonus. Highly recommend!
