There's a rude guy who may be the manager of this department. They used to mark it half off a few days before expiring so people could get a deal and eat in this economy but he doesn't care. I came in to exchange a dress that was a gift. Initially, I was told to walk around the store with the item to find the correct size, which already felt odd. After finding the right size and returning to the customer service desk, I was repeatedly asked for a receipt even after explaining multiple times that it was a gift. The staff member, Kiara (K-I-A-R-A), was rude, dismissive, and made several unnecessary comments that made me feel like I was being treated as a criminal instead of a customer. Her attitude was unprofessional and uncomfortable. What concerned me most is that the exchange was NOT processed through the system at all. Instead of properly scanning or logging the exchange, she simply removed the sensor and handed me the dress. This means the inventory is now inaccurate, especially since the sizes and item codes were different. When I pointed this out, she brushed it off and said that's "just how they do it," which is unacceptable. It was careless, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Many items not marked for pricing. Cranky cashier said they don't want to pay an employee to price things, Target loses money by paying employees to do so. When I noted that benefits the store, not the customers who are often on budgets, she shrugged her shoulders and acknowledged that the company will do what is best for their bottom line, not the customers. Not a surprise, of course, to hear all this. But the dismissive attitude was off-putting. My experience at Target was extremely disappointing. As an African American shopper, I felt I was being singled out and followed around the store by a loss prevention employee. The employee, who appeared to be Hispanic and was very short in stature, followed me throughout multiple areas while I was simply trying to shop. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that I appeared to be the only person being monitored this way. I did not confront the employee at the time, but it was very obvious what was happening and it made the shopping experience very unpleasant. No customer should feel targeted or profiled while shopping. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this Target location and will be returning the items I purchased. The drive up service is terrible. Target wants me to tell them when I'm coming and then allow them my location and the order is never ready. They don't read which side of the car you want items loaded and I've gotten multiple orders that contained items that weren't mine. I'm sitting here waiting for my order and the guy has come out once already but he didn't have my stuff. The training needs to be improved or more employees need to be hired. One of the worst run Targets in all of the Bay Area. Full stop. Consistently understaffed, understocked, dirty, filthy, messy. You can guarantee the lines will be long at all hours of day. Discarded food items and spilled drinks all over store. Shelves not regularly cleaned. Sticky goo from spilled products is just left as is. The hair care section has exploded canisters and hair dye spilled everywhere. It's been like that for over two years. Carts are in atrocious dirty conditions with old gum and sticky dirt clumps yet they want you to come buy clothes and use said carts. It's not uncommon to call for assistance or look for help and find no one visible or willing, competent or knowledgeable enough to help. Staff often seem apathetic, annoyed or outright unhappy. Forget the pharmacy. Many shoppers are equally disrespectful at this location dropping products on the ground to be trampled on. There's high theft at this store and there have been some gang activity and violent assaults with weapons, if you pay attention to local Novato police reports and/or had the unfortunate pleasure of being present during said activity. I don't get what's so unique about this Novato Target that makes it so noticeably poor in quality. In Marin County, of all places. Also, for the love of G-d and all things Holy, somebody repave the parking lot and fix the potholes. Garbage and refuse, empty packaging and more are strewn all over the parking lot and left in the shopping cart corrals, which themselves are barely holding up. Vintage Oaks and Target are to blame for the conditions of this store. It's unacceptable. The stores management team and corporate have been notified many times. Get your act together, Target. Walmart is eating your lunch at this point. read more

I bought some bread and berries here and both got mold in a few days. Makes me a little suspicious about storage there and I guess I could have returned but how embarassing to walk in like hi, here with some moldy junk but they charge top dollar and something's off. Other than that, they carry the cat food I need and other basic cleaning supplies that were healthier options. Convenient and friendly staff. Cleo is almost always my cashier and she is so nice! There is another Thai lady too - thank you for employing nice staff. Clean restroom and a starbucks inside in case you need to fuel up! This target on the daily has kids running around screaming and they aren't told anything. The day we decide to test some bean bags; mind you we weren't in anyone's way or making any kind of noise an employee came up to us and told us to put the bean bags away and if we weren't going to buy anything to leave the store. Of course i wasn't going to purchase anything after being talked to like that. I come to this target multiple times a week and always buy something but I won't be coming back after this incident. I've never had any issues at this Target. It's a huge, clean, organized and well-managed store compared to others in the Bay Area. I don't have any criticisms. I do have one shout out. Once, around the holidays I was looking to buy a mini waffle maker. There were none left on the floor but a sales associate offered to go find one in the back and he came back less than 5 minutes later with one. I was overjoyed. Love all the people that work here. I will never come back to this store. I came to ask for my return payment this Monday and met a rude staff at the return station. On 11/29 I went there to return 5 items, but I don not know why they scanned 4 instead of 5. I did not realize it until last Sunday. On Sunday I checked my account and realized that. When I came to the store on Monday, I said I have a question for the staff. Instead of checking the inventor or looking for the barcode of missing item, the staff was rude. He said "you are weir. Why don't you come back the day after your return day". I explained I forgot to check my account. He blamed me and made me fell shy in front of a long line of other customers. Every other time I do the Drive Up and Go, they forget some of my groceries. Of course I don't realize until I get home and then I have to return, go inside, and pick it up myself. They NEVER have the ringer on at the customer service desk's phone (believe me, I've tried) and I had to go back TWICE last week because they forgot to give me all my bags TWICE on the same day. I gone to this location a few times. I remember buying a tripod from them because the one I had broke on me. Luckily the tripod was in stock. I was help out by Target when I needed help. They help me out greatly. I don't have any complaints about this location. I do confess the times I gone to this location was just to get a good work out by walking around the store. WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDS FROM TARGET. I received a gift card purchased from this Target at Rowland as a birthday gift. It was purchased in store by a relative who gave it to me that day. The gift card looked fine, the access code was still covered, it was in the original sleeve and everything. I received it on 6/17 and when I went to use it a few weeks later, it kept telling me there's a $0 balance on the card. I called the phone# on the back of the gift card and it gave me the option of hearing the last 5 transactions so I figured I'd make sure it had been loaded correctly. I hear the load date of 6/17 for $200 but then I hear there was a $200 transaction exactly 7 days later at some target in another state. I used the prompts to get to someone live and a case was opened by the Target "research team". I was also told that I would receive an email asking me to upload pictures of the front and back of the gift card and that I would need to ask the purchaser for a picture of the original receipt as well. I had every bit of info about this transaction down to roughly the time it was purchased that morning of 6/17 but Target wouldn't accept any of that so I was absolutely mortified but had to go and ask for copies of the receipt due to Target's internal security issues and problems with their gift cards being so easily compromised. I upload everything they asked me for and then was told that I need to go back and ask the purchaser to hand-write the case # on the original purchase receipt and send me a pic back again to send to the target research team. Basically, if someone had paid with cash, didn't keep the original receipt and paid with credit card, they would not accept this case and they refuse to actually do any research like checking registers and cameras on the day of purchase. You will be SOL without the original receipt and Target will not refund your gift card accordingly. This is a HUGE flaw and security breach and quite frankly unfair to gift givers and gift receivers. I've had to spend so much time to fix something that they should be able to easily review on their own in store cameras and match to their registers themselves. What's lovely is how I had to basically ask the gift giver to provide me evidence that she purchased this generous $200 gift card. This is crazy and I'm warning everyone not to buy target gift cards. They are compromised and you and your gift receivers are at risk of having your entire gift card amount wiped out with zero help on getting it retrieved unless you have every piece of documentation and the original target receipt for it. A credit card statement won't suffice and if purchased with cash, you can kiss your gift card goodbye. I'd rather just give people cash to spend wherever they want bc this is crazy. I have been shopping at the Novato Target since it was built around 1992 but after what I am going to describe in this review, I will not spend my money at their store again. The date was 2/4/21. I had gone into the store to purchase a cell phone. Nobody was manning the department so I went to customer service to ask if someone could pull a phone out of a case if I picked one out. This question was directed to a young woman who was trying to catch the eye of another young woman who was at the first cash register, She rudely answered my question and I spent 10 minutes choosing the phone. I called for help and asked for the phone in the back. There were two. The gal rang me up and I went to my car to look at the phone. The package was opened. I went back into the store and back into the customer service line. I informed the young woman who was rude to me and told her that the phone was opened and I was returning it. She took great pleasure in holding up the receipt and to say that there is a restocking fee. I was very upset. I informed her that the box was OPEN. I asked her how many restocking fees they get off of one phone that should not have been in a case for sale in the first place! She held to it and had her manager come out who overrode the ridiculous restocking fee and then she wouldn't look me in the eye. It was an embarrassing and horrible experience. When i called the next day to speak to a manager, there was no answer though the phone rang for five good minutes. Two calls to Target's Corporate office were hung up on by employees there. It took three calls to have my story heard. Is this the future of customer service? I have been working since 1983 and this behavior would have been unacceptable in the olden days. Bought MP cheeseballs on July 25th, 2021. My daughter ate it the next day, many of them, until she noticed it was already expired 1 month ago. So we brought it back tonight to return. The guy from the return service table named "Kenny" did not even apologized. Not even a "sorry" or explaining anything, like they will have someone to check whether other cheeseball items might expired and left on shelf, or they will pay more attention when they loading new shipments next time. I understood oftentimes supermarket had expired food items might not be off shelf on time. However, since you known this issue, you need taking it to the next step and ask someone to check on it and have all expired items remove so no other customers can reach it. Nope! Don't know how he gets trained from customer services. I think saying "sorry" is the most basic thing to do beyond other explanations. We are not asking more than that! Lucky my daughter doesn't have diarrhea or vomiting because kids have more sensitive stomach. So me and my daughter just grabbed the return receipt and go. We went back to check the same shelf, there were even cheeseball dated expired April, May, and June 2021, how funny! The experience we encountered tonight was so dissatisfied and disappointed! By the way, when we walked out the door after checking, he and other girl were chatting to each other, like they just didn't care of anything. Even though Target is our favorite spot to shop, we will take further trip down to San Rafael from now on. Having one thought in my mind: What happen to the elder people with bad vision? SCAM! SCAM! I saw an offer at the TARGET web site--get a RED CARD (their credit card), first $50 in merchandise free. SCAM, not because they did not allow the $50 in very inferior products, but that they charged late fee of $30 month, then $40 thereafter when their written invoice did not itemize charges, nor post in the lawful amount of time (14 days required). Further, they denied me access to the internet stating that they do that when you have a late fee (erroneous late fee)i.e. you can't see the erroneous and unlawful late fees charged to your account. Further, after I had paid off the little bit I did charge in the time required, ($60), they are still charging me late fees--late fees on late fees. (not lawfully allowed). They refuse to close the account as I still owe late fees, they say! Because of the Late fees, now up to $250.00 and still charging late fees of $40 a month on the prior late fees, my credit score has dropped 200 points, and one credit card has decreased my credit $1,000.00 dollars. So far. After three months of looking into this TARGET RED CARD, The Marin District Attorney said they would take no action because they need many cases and they had no other complaints about Target RED CARD. So, while I waited for the Marin DA to come to this conclusion, it cost me $120 in late fees. They are late fees on late fees, illegal. However, The DA's advice to me was, "...pay off the late fees." When I screamed," What", she said, " Well look how it is affecting your credit score." So, I have to pay off Late Fees on late fees and late fees that were not legally allowable by the highest law in Marin. The DA confirms it. However, (I cannot write a Yelp review that asks for money in exchange for me to stop a bad review but Target can do 'anything' to get money and the DA will uphold that and suggest that you pay them off. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! However, if anyone else has a problem with Target, or their Red Card it is probable that they then will take action (??). So, I do encourage anyone who has or had a problem to contact the Marin District Attorney's Office. read more

I was returning my son's video game controller since it was the wired one, and he wanted the wireless one instead. The price difference was way more than what I paid for, so I checked Amazon. Amazon was $15 less for the wireless, so I called my husband and told him that our son will just have to wait until I order from Amazon. This fellow behind me heard me and said that he could price match the wireless controller from Amazon! One of the best things that came out of the pandemic is the drive up pick up option at Target. It has always been a crowded store so this option is great for me. The people who bring the orders are great - both polite and courteous. My order is always correct, too. I give them a small tip even though that is not required. I love to shop at target because the prices are cheaper compared to walgreens when it comes to medicine and other essentials. This location is my favorite location, I came here yesterday and there was no line to get into the store. The targets in Daly City have long lines at both serramonte and colma just to get into the store. There was no long lines for checkout either. This location that is nice and flows well it is bigger I think compared to the locations compared to Daly City. The locations in SF are either awkward layout or not have the item you are looking for. In San Francisco the locations are smaller compared to the locations in the other bay area counties. read more

So happy to see my local Target Store get a much needed "face-lift' and remodel. It truly has made all the shopability difference and their staff seems to actually enjoy being at work, too. Product is on shelves (where it belongs) When you need help and associate is usually close by, if they've not already asked "are you finishing everything okay?" (Is this new?! I dont remember Target stores doing this! It's great!! Wide variety of home goods, clothing, and seasonal items. I've seen a LOT of people bringing their dogs in the store, using carts. As an animal lover, I'm okay with this. As someone who also respects people who have allergies, fears of animals, May not want dog butts where we put our food...be mindful. Don't forget to shop the End-Caps. You'll find tons of great markdowns there. Oh, also! Join Circle. You can earn points and stuff, save some cash to spend on more things you don't need. Well today target only gets one star a child puked inside the store by the front door and it must've took at least 15 minutes to get it cleaned up and people were walking through it yuck!! Customer service desk the girl was inexperienced and took a long time to help the guests there was only two people in line and I must've been there for 15 minutes (watching the people walk thru the puke) Granted I am sick so I might be a little on edge ......asked the pharmacist for assistance and she was no help she did not know the products in the store They're saving grace was in the self checkout line the girl was amazing helping all the guests check out...(but she also missed getting someone to clean up the puke) read more

Drive Up Order Pick Review The order app is really great, once you get the hang of it. The people though who bring out my orders have always been great. Very polite, quick, accommodating (I like my order placed in the front passenger seat), professional and cheerful. The cheerful part always surprises me to, as they are dealing with a mix of diverse people. I've heard a couple of people get very vocal when an item wasn't available, and they never lost their cool. I wanted to loose my cool with the jerks, but that wouldn't do anything to help or remedy the situation. I would stick my nose in though if it got physical.
