This is a decent range and seems relatively safe for a indoor public range. The equipment and facility are old but well maintained. I been here twice and had good experience both times. read more

Another great place to shoot. One side for pistols and shotgun (25,yards) and one side for rifles (50yards). ,price is fair and not much of a wait anytime. Good experience with everyone that works there. Pros: Long distance for indoor shooting with plenty of lane and counter space. Not much waiting time. Free locker with lock to store your personal item upon request. Fair range fee. Cons: No steel casing or core of any. Kinda dark in rifles lane but manageable. read more

Poor customer experience. My brother and fiancé will never come here again. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Shame on them.

Nope. They require a photo ID and wouldn't accept my military ID. The lady behind the counter said it was an Article 15 offense. This implies she's either subject to the discipline of the USMJ or she's an idiot. I'll go with idiot, trying to be worldly by saying things she's heard others use. In summary, I'll take my $20 somewhere else and hope to spread the word to anyone who will listen. read more

Enjoyed the gun range! Great service awesome knowledgable staff. Love the friendly dog they have and the selection of firearms. I have been at this location several times and enjoyed going every time they provide you with vision and hearing protection and the day rate to shoot is not bad at all read more

Good place as always. Nice people, clean ranges, bathrooms are clean as well. It's not the most posh places, but it has rentals so it welcomes everyone. The in house dog is pretty cool but I don't think is petting friendly. And as for you shooters. please remove your targets and sweep brass before leaving. We all gotta be friends here read more

The male staff was helpful and very informative however the female employees came off as condescending and rude. The shooting stalls were filthy and had trash everywhere. Ventilation system is absolutely terrible, you have to step away every other minute just to escape the fumes coming off the firearms, fans are present but don't work. Half the lighting in the stalls have either faulty fixtures or burned out bulbs. Shooting blocks were torn to shreds and target backings were made of cardboard so the targets could barely hold on. Overall terrible experience, won't be going again. God bless read more

Staff has always been very nice and the price is just right. Always enjoy heading to target masters! I drive from Plano out here as the other ranges are just too expensive and snooty! read more

As a new shooter and a woman, I just love this range. The people are super friendly and always helpful and I never feel intimidated. There are other closer ranges to me, but Target Master just feels like my shooting "home". Highly recommended! read more

It's a surprise these folks are still in business.. I have been to Target Master on and off for the last few years and mainly to use the shooting range which thru time the ventilation system has deteriorated. Just recently I was looking for a Glock 33 Gen 4 and were able to get one for me here within a week. I thought this was a smooth transaction, so a week later when I came to collect my new Glock, I spoke to Tom (owner) who showed me a Canik TP9SA and a Desert Eagle 50 A.E. he had in his showcase, I did some research and found that Magnum Research had a Combo package that was made in Israel and in the box you get the Israeli 50 AE pistol plus a .44 Magnum Barell and magazine at the value of $1950.00 (almost a 2 for the price of one). The next day I returned, I looked around the store cases, once I had my fill of waiting and looking (15 minutes or so had gone by, not one person asking if they could help) mind you, two of the employees were shooting the breeze about something on TV and a younger heavy set woman made eye contact but said nothing. I decided that perhaps it was a bad day at the office for them and I should chunk it to an isolated incident. Tom finished with the customer who he had been helping since I walked in and I walked up to him and said hello, I was just there 24 hours earlier, but as I launched into speaking to him about the Canik, his attitude and demeanor was identical to that of his employees and I found it odd as he actually looked a little put out. I guess I made a mistake of thinking that perhaps he remembered who I was, especially since I had made a purchase with him directly just a day prior and I had him show me a specialty pistol that I believe doesn't sell every day. Of course I fixed that by saying that I wanted to purchase the Canik and perhaps the D.E. Oddly enough, his disposition changed immediately and we became "buds" at that moment. A few seconds later, Tom excused himself and checked with his vendor, then assured me that he could get my Desert Eagle "sometime in January." I was more than happy that he could get it for me and ordered exactly what I wanted, Desert Eagle DE50WB6 made in Israel. On January 1st, I brought out of town friends to his store to see if they could pick up a laser sight for my one of my friends' pistol, I also wanted to show them a Desert Eagle (the one he had in stock) I once again reminded Tom who I was but this time I hadn't seen him in roughly two weeks, so no biggie. My friends looked at laser sights they had in stock but nobody really knew how to operate them including Tom, (my friend opted to order one online that night instead). Before leaving Target Master, I asked Tom if by any chance he had an update on my D.E. To my pleasant surprise he said "It should be in sometime at the end of next week." That put an extra spring in my step for the next week and a half. Then next Thursday night came and no news at all. Friday by 4:30pm I still had no word so I decided to drive in and check it out for myself. I walked in and the gun was in. Upon opening the box I noticed that the gun was made in Minneapolis, MN USA. Not Israel. This actually really disappointed me and frankly upset me. I asked Tom why this had happened and he said that he didn't have an answer and shrugged his shoulders. I then told him that I truly needed an answer to my legitimate question and not just a shrug and a dismissal He picked up the phone and because it was 5:50pm he got the voice mail at Magnum Research. He told me "leave the gun and I'll see what I can find out on Monday." I took the gun with me and I thought about the situation the whole weekend, after paying right at $2000.00 for a handgun that I will hardly use but wanted. On Monday morning I called Magnum Research and they told me that it was a mistake but if I wanted the Israeli gun I paid for, they would make it happen. They instructed me to go to the retailer and ask them to have them return the gun and they also gave me specific instructions on how Target Master was to handle the return. I went to Target Master and Tom was not in. Instead, I spoke to the woman I mentioned before and she did me a "huge favor" to speak to me about the return and added that she knew nothing about it and I had caught her in the middle of something (as if I was bothering her with this). That didn't sit well with me to be honest, and I told her that her attitude and treatment sucked. I left the pistol in her care and I walked out. Tom phoned me about an hour later and began to shout, yell and rant about how I was disrespectful to his daughter and reminded me that she was a "gal." This went on for close to 30 minutes, and after listening to this nonsense, I asked him to give me a credit for the handgun and the deal was dissolved. Horrible people, buyer beware!! read more

This place is older and they haven't done much upkeep. The paint is peeling and the range needs some TLC. My rental ear protection was awful and the rental eye protection was all scratched up. My ears are still ringing 5 hours later. When we first arrived we were greeted by a nicer gentlemen but when we went to sign our waivers and rent our firearms the older blonde lady was incredibly rude. Very short and abrasive. I can't imagine people are repeat customers here. They do have several firearms to shoot and rent so this place gets the job done but don't expect and pleasantries or a nice place. read more

The staff was very attentive and courteous, and the check in and out was painless. The place is not fancy, but the price was right. The staff was not overbearing in any way as long as safety rules were adhered to. The other patrons were all over the place as far as skill and reason for being there, but it was a good overall experience. I did have to laugh at the 4 younger guys blasting hundreds of rounds of buck shot at a paper target 8 ft in front of them, but that is not a reflection on the business, so I stand with 5 stars. read more

I will never give this place my business. The schmuck behind the counter didn't have a clue of what he was talking about. Furthermore when I mentioned I had just relocated to Texas from the NE he proceeded to call me a carpet bagger and give me his disertation of why the north sucks. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I'm not going to give a business money that feels it is appropriate to chastise me over falsities before conducting business. read more

Found the staff very unfriendly. It seems to be family ran so they definitely know how to run people off. You would have never guessed I was the customer and I was interested in making a purchase & have fun shooting with the wife. Will be visiting other ranges read more

Whenever a friend wants help finding a handgun to carry concealed, I take them to Target Master, every time. Their rental policy is such that you're only charged for as many guns you have out on the range at a time, meaning you can go back and exchange your rental for a new one at no additional cost-- perfect if you want to try out a lot of options before making a purchase. We tried out probably 8 handgun options during our stay and one of the employees, George, was incredibly helpful and patient with our many gun exchanges. Target Master runs their business safely, while also not looking down your back so intensely while you shoot, like many other ranges do. Highly recommended. read more

I was a regular at Targetmaster, until the owner REFUSED TO RUN MY BANK CARD AS CREDIT,. I get points when used as a CC, and had used it to pay for range fees at least 5 times there. The guy said: put your pin number in! I said no I don't have a pin! run it as credit , he said: NO! YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CREDIT CARD TO RUN IT AS CC! no! I said they all had run it as credit before, why are you refusing to do it? just to give me a hard time? again he refused! and ask me for a Credit Card, I gave him the Credit Card and said THIS IS THE LAST TIME I AM HERE. I WILL NEVER COMEBACK! he just run the cc and tried to say something like: I was taken before for $600 dollars! and don't want to be taken again! HOW STUPID! WHAT A MORON ! anyhow I left, and told many of my shooting buddys about it and he just lost $ 3600.00 dollars.( 12 friends were told, $300 a year each=$3600.00) I hope he reads this review and understand that: CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT! unless you want them to tell all their friends about the bad experience and loose more money! Being a country girl from Oklahoma, I had never shot a gun indoors until I discovered Target Masters a couple years ago. The staff is super friendly. They have 24 lanes so I've only had to wait for a lane 1time. You pay 1 price and you can shoot all day if you want. (who has that much ammo?). It's a great place to get in some practice and stay out of that Texas sun. Be sure to bring your eye/ear protection. They have loaners but I like knowing who's used things I'm putting on my face. You get one free target but they have others for purchase or bring your own. You can rent a gun if you are still trying to decide what gun you want to buy. That's a great way to make sure a gun is right for you before you buy. The ventilation isn't that great so I wouldn't stay too long if you have breathing issues. read more

So a few weeks ago I left my home in Austin to drive up to Dallas for my father's birthday. My gift for the occasion was a Colt 6920 that I had mounted an Aimpoint micro and a light. My father has zero experience with the AR, so I was really looking forward to showing him how to handle it in hopes that it would become his HD weapon. He was absolutely thrilled at the sight of it, and wanted to head to the range...as did I. I Googled the nearest range, which happened to be Target Master. We left for the range with his new AR and an AK that I had recently purchased. The ammunition for the AR was clearly marked IMI m193 5.56. The AK ammo was all steel cased wolf crap(In retrospect I should have called and asked if it was allowed). So we get in line at the counter behind a young couple that is speaking with the cashier. I start to notice an ugly attitude and short tone of voice coming from the woman running the show. Now I don't recall the exact words exchanged between them, but they sure weren't pleasantries. I did hear something about no steel ammo being allowed. The young man had grown visibly upset and demanded his ID back from the cashier and left in a hurry. She didn't skip a beat and yelled "NEXT!". I had noticed she was wearing a CHL instructor shirt, so I thought I might build some report by handing her my CHL...bad move. I'll relay the rest of this as it was spoken. Angry Lady: "ID's! ID's I need some ID's!" Me: (I hand her my CHL) Angry Lady: "I said Driver's License!" Me: "You said ID's" AL: (Stares blankly at me) Me: (I hand over my Drivers License) AL: "What guns are you shooting today?" Me: "We were going to be shooting an AR and an AK but I overheard something about steel ammo being banned here, so we'll just be shooting the AR." (I then hand her a box of the m193 for inspection) AL: "I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THESE WILL FAIL THE MAGNET TEST!" Me: "No they won't, that's clearly marked m193 which has a brass case, a copper jacket, and a lead core." AL: (Stares blankly at me and tries to get the magnet to stick to the bullet and case several times...she is obviously upset that she had just proved herself wrong.) Me: "I'll take all my AK and ammo back to the car since I won't be shooting it here." AL: "NO YOU WON'T, YOU'LL BE LEAVING IT HERE WITH ME!" Me: Umm...No I won't. ID's please, we're done here. AL: "NEXT!" It's been many years since I've run into a place with such horrific customer service, she must run off over half of their perspective customers. In all seriousness, she reminded me of the soup nazi from Seinfeld. Sorry about the rant, but I had to get that off my chest. She sure does hate potential customers. read more

This is one of the bigger indoor shooting ranges I've been to and my first one in TX. It looks more cabin-like than any range I've been to. The people are nice but the prices are not. My husband and I thought this would be cheaper than the ones in CA but we were so wrong. We always bring everything of our own: guns, ammo, eyes & ears, targets except this time we didn't have any more targets so we got 3 silhouettes. Our total for 2 people ($18/person) and 3 targets was...$40 something?? We are used to paying around $30 at the most for range time only for 2 people. It is bigger inside but there are no tables in the back to set your stuff but cubbies under your booth. Ok now the worst part was that towards the end of our time here, there was a group of kids next to us that were completely muzzling us and other people several times, and no one came to stop them or kick them out. Where is the range officer? What's the point of having cameras if no one is enforcing anything? I was shocked when they were just waving the gun around, idgaf if it's not loaded, you should know gun safety and that you never muzzle anyone even if it's unloaded! I was scared too because who knows if it is loaded or not, right? When we finally left we told the people working there that we got muzzled many times. They were just chatting and seem to not pay attention to the booths but when we told them they went right away to that group. My husband even got shrapnel ricochet on his arm from one of the people in the group because they hit the frame or something. This is the first time out of dozens of times of going to any shooting range where I was actually worried about our safety. We will be going to outdoor ranges now that are $15 for lifetime membership or another indoor place. read more

You just lost a thirty-year customer for good due to your indifference. For the past twenty years, along with traditional rifle calibers, I have shot handgun magnum calibers (.357 and .44) on the 50-yard side. In years past, I have also used the 50-yard side to sight in Thompson Contender single-shot handguns. So today, in addition to some 30-06 testing of new handloads, I wanted to do some 50-yard shooting with the .357 Magnum as well as some 35 to 50-yard shooting with my Beretta 9mm handguns. Not today. Was told nothing smaller than 454 Casull allowed, handgun-wise, on the 50-yard side. There was one other customer in the store area when I arrived, and less than five vehicles in the parking lot. It's not as though you had a waiting list and all the Camp Perry pre-quals were waiting to sight in. Place was dead. I choose the "dead times" to do the long range pistol shooting so as not to take up a longer range bay for anyone wishing to sight in a rifle. In truth, it shouldn't matter--you have 25-yard bays and you have 50-yard bays. If a customer wants to shoot their handguns at 50 yards, what is the problem? The indifference to all of this iced the cake for me. I passed on shooting, took my firearms and ammo and made the 32-mile drive back home. You might want to pay attention to your longtime customers. New indoor ranges are sprouting around the metroplex faster than crabgrass in the spring. Whereas we used to not have much variety or choice in where to shoot, now it's almost becoming problematic as to where TO go shooting. Today, my choice became smaller by one. read more

Staff was pretty unfriendly. No thank you's, your welcome's, range was really hot like they had no AC and the ventilation was horrible.

Cost: $16+tax which includes one paper target of your choice. They hold onto your license and give it back once you pay. They will loan you a ear protection if you don't have it. I suggest bringing ear plugs in addition to wearing the over the ear protection. Super friendly service though! There are two indoor ranges. One for pistols, the other for rifles. Range is ok I guess, pretty basic no frills lanes. Staff was cool, didn't really have any issues in terms of getting the rental gun I wanted to try and getting a lane. No range officer on duty while I shot. Not really my cup of tea. At $18 a head just to get a lane there's some pretty stiff competition in my area depending on which direction I travel and some of those places offer more modernized shootings ranges and amenities. The one plus to Target Range is they have a huge list of guns to rent, which is I why I came there in the first place. Good place to try before you buy. read more

This family owned and operated facility is way over rated. The owner acts like he's doing you a favor to have you come in. I took my niece up there to introduce her to her first .22 rifle experience at she was not totally welcomed by the owners old and obviously untrained german Sheppard that walk around unattended. The dog just triggered w out any warning from what seemed like a peaceful slumber in the middle of the floor and tried to bite my niece. He got a nip in and a very scared teen girl who lives dogs now questions why she bothered coming w me. The owner was not apologetic nor sympathetic in the least. The son is not much better. His son gives a very unprofessional and smirky concealment class that leaves you feeling as if it could have been taught online. The boy seems to be more concerned w his next donut and doing his best Starsky and Hutch imitation (gotta look cool) wearing over the top leather shoulder rig and bragging about how many cops he's friends with and the times he's drawn his gun on people "loitering in the parking lot. Douche bag for sure. Over heard him making racist comments w one of his customers which really topped off the day. Thank god daddy can supply him w a job or he'd be delivering pizza or maybe security guard at a mall. Thankfully the police dept requires 60 plus hours of college or he'd be out on the streets endangering us all further. I can only imagine the day when he takes over the shop and daddy can't keep him and the dog at heel. If you want attitude and unappreciated racial jokes Target Master is your kinda place. read more
