This is a well organized, clean and spacious Target. I like the Starbuck's at this site and the cashiers are always friendly and courteous. If I don't have a lot I use self checkout lanes but the lines move pretty fast if you have a full cart. I've also made purchases for work here using our non-profit number for tax exemption status and they move pretty quickly on these purchases as well as gift cards. I really like the pet aisles here and the seasonal aisle for holiday needs. On my last visit I loaded up on baking needs to start making my favorite holiday cookies and this Target had everything on my list. Another thing I appreciate are the sales on clothing especially after summer when you can find some cute women's clothing at unbelievably low prices. I also find it impressive that several times I've had staff members greet me warmly or ask if they can help me find something. Great customer service here. There's a reason why Target has a reputation for great customer experience. For me, the pickup process was seamless and quick. I love not having to spend time in the store, especially during these COVID times. I would recommend downloading the app as it makes things so easy. One of the price gouging issues during the holidays is Lego sets. Amazon has dozens of third-party sellers who jack up prices 30%+, so it's beneficial to be able to see current stock at Target (and Walmart) and to be able to get Legos at a for price. On this shopping occasion, we also actually went in, and we were pleased with the cleanliness of the store, including the bathrooms. This is not my go to target but while by the arboretum, why not?! They had a great load at the Target Bullseye. I got some Starbucks and my regular grocery haul. They had great and cute bathing suits but I was so cold to even think of that yet! Maybe next time. This target was stocked with Valentine's decor, treats and what not. This Target location in HoffMan Estates is typically stocked well. The store layout is a little different than most Targets, which makes navigating the store a little difficult, but who doesn't love getting lost in a Target and spending all your money?! This is in a good location in a shopping area with a few other big stores and a lot of restaurants, plenty of parking and easily accessible. This isn't our first choice for Target locations based on proximity, but we do like shopping at this location. read more

I drive by this location and always try to stop in thinking the service will be different. Here are a couple things this Target should focus on: -there are always target carts everywhere that it blocks items you are trying to get, these are the carts the employees use in the BOH. They are simply left on the sales floor -their stock is limited and shelves are always messy -staff is not trained. I stood in line for 15 minutes (only two aisles open the day before Halloween) and I asked for a gift receipt. The employee didn't know how to reprint it because he forgot I needed one. -it's very dirty -staff doesn't seem engaged Just go to the target a couple miles down in Streamwood they are always so pleasant read more

I went into Target Hoffman Estates to grab a gift on the way to a party, I was in a hurry and knew what I needed. Immediately as I walked past all the registers a man from AT&T stops me and starts his sales pitch... what cell carrier do you have etc.. I politely tell him I'm not interested but he persisted and continues his barrage of sales tactics and questions (what internet do you use at home etc...following me). I do NOT go into Target expecting to be accosted by hard nosed sales people. This was completely out of left field and makes me not want to step foot in Target if this is the route you are going. read more

I've hated this Target for as long as I've known it exists. This particular one has always been plain terrible but huge and newer so they have plenty to offer. Today being Christmas Eve and me hating crowds. I was pleased to find that even though I've always avoided this location they have what I need and offer drive up. So I wouldn't even have to go inside the hellmouth. WRONG. Whoever was managing guest services needs to be coached or terminated or something. I sat in my car wasting my gas for 20 minutes. Figuring they were probably busy and having been in retail I can respect that this is one of the busiest days of the year. That was my limit so I begrudgingly got out of my car and walked in. (mind you guest services at this location is immediately inside the door, I see 4 people working guest services and one customer UNBELIEVABLE. At this point I notice a kid with a drive up bag heading towards the door, he's apologetic and says that his manager asked him to run it out and it wouldn't happen again if I used the service again.... If it happened with 4 people plus this poor kid in nothing but pants and a polo running my bag out (whom I hold blameless.) I can't imagine how terrible the experience would be with less staff on an equally busy day. It is target after all. Leave the curbside deal to Walmart. They know what they are doing at every location. And clearly Target or at least Target Hoffman Estates does not. read more

I ordered Roomba iRobot 690 online and picked it up at nearest store Hoffman Estates which was 30 minutes from my home. My 3 year old son fell asleep on the way so when I pulled up I saw the drive up lanes and I parked there to have someone bring out my item. Didn't know how to use it, so I called the store's guest relations dept. and they agreed to a 1 time courtesy to bring out the item. An employee came out with the item, scanned my barcode through the app and checked my ID. Went home, put my son in the bed and put roomba on table to set it up. No charging port and missing items in the box. Immediately called Hoffman Estates Target, they transferred my call to a manager who said that I had to wait 10 days for an exchange or refund. I was furious and told her that I would call corporate. I immediately called corporate and explained my situation to 3 different people. One of the reps Gilbert, had done a report and had me send pictures of the roomba which I done and assured me that he would have take care of it. He said that I should drive back to the store at my earliest convenience and get a refund or exchange and if I had any issues while there that I should contact corporate since I had a file with them regarding this matter. I went to the store and returned the item and the cashier had to call the manager Jessica and the Jessica (HR manager) explained that they couldn't refund it back to my card because I ordered online that I had to wait 24 hours or she can give me store credit. My wife and I agreed for the store credit since we still wanted the roomba. They gave us the store credit and my son had picked up a toy for $1 which we paid using that store credit at the self checkout. We were in the store 20 min. They didn't have anymore roomba in stock. So we decided we'd order another one online and have it shipped. This morning I went on the Target app to order the same roomba model and punched in the gift card info and it said the balance on the gift card is 0!! At this point they had our money and the vacuum. I called the store and they said they cannot do anything until tomorrow and called corporate who agreed that this should not have happened especially after corporate gave us the ok and gave the store the authorization to refund or exchange. Jessica waited for us to leave then canceled our gift card. Jessica clearly showed no customer service skills, no professionalism, no empathy, and plenty of discrimination. Retail has become an online world and with this type of behavior coming from in store management, I will never step foot in this place and I will definitely warn neighbors, friends, and family about the service and integrity coming from management at Target. I will get my money, even if I have to go to the media. They took the product and they took my money and they haven't resolved the situation. read more

Worst customer service, ever! Went to go return something, and the lady looked at the old receipt that was voided because my Target Card wasn't working, once again- so they had to redo the transaction. (Shocker) So I tell her to scan the receipt to try, and the item... She did, and doesn't say a word to me after I was correct- and she continues to talk to her young co-worker about a party. Not even a sorry. Worst attitude ever. This is why I hate Target even more now. This review is strictly for Monika's check-out lane, and previous trips through her lane. There always seems to be something the matter with her lane. Somebody paying with a check, somebody who can't find their coupons, someone else paying in pennies.... I should just know not to visit with her, because it never ends well. Today, all I wanted was to purchase some light bulbs and a new loofa. I got into Monika's line because the person ahead of me seemed to be paying. Well, she was almost paying. She got convinced there in the check-out line, to apply for a Target credit card. Seriously? My wife has this great idea where if you're in line and a cashier asks you if you want to apply for a card, you can step out of line and complete your application somewhere else so that you don't hold up all the people behind you. This is great in theory, and I think in practice would streamline everyone's lives, and we'll all probably be able to count the added years to our lives. Well, in real life, they apply right there at check-out. And in real life, I'm working my neck like one of those owls turning to stare at you in the barn, because I'm trying to see if it's worth my time to even pick up my things and go to a different line. The worst thing would have been to hurry to get to another line, only to drop my light bulbs and have to waste even more time going back to get more bulbs. OR, if I feel like by leaving the current line, I'm actually worsening my station in life. It's kind of like this one time where I fell asleep on the Blue Line and woke up at my stop, with the doors open. In the 3 seconds that I was awake, I thought A) I could make a break for it, and get off at my stop. B) I could make a break for it, but not make it through the doors and have to stand there looking stupid until the next stop C) I could just call it a wash, and know that I am getting off at the next stop, and thereby admitting defeat. Well, I moved out of the line. I walked to my car at TJ Maxx and started home when I saw the lady ahead of me walking out of Target. I'm glad I moved. Never again, Monika, never again. read more

My first trip to Target was in the late 80s in San Diego. My uncle was in the Navy and we'd spend summers in San Diego. This was back in the day when overalls were hot. I didn't have a pair, but my cousin did and my aunt knew how badly i wanted them so she took me to Target and bought me my first pair of overalls which I proudly wore with one strap down. We continued to shop at Target our summers in San Diego, and when it finally came to Illinois many many years later, i was beside myself. Nowadays, I shop at Target at least once a week...usually at least twice. And often for no reason. In fact, I make up excuses to go to Target, like, "we only have 150 diapers left in that 160 box we bought yesterday...I better get to Target before we run out." That kind of thing. I'll also probably be the only mom who will be thrilled when her kid tells her there's a project due next day and they need posterboard...because it will mean going on a trip to Target (back in my day it was the Jewel's, but whatever). So now that I've professed my love for Target, and aged myself, I have to say that this Target is one of my favorites. Particularly after tonight's shopping excursion. I usually frequent the Woodfield Target cuz it's closest to home, but on occasion, we'll venture out to the "rich people's Target" in Hoffman/South Barrington. Tonight's trip was solely to use the Kodak picture machine. I needed quick prints, and while I could have stopped into Walgreens, two minutes away, I convinced myself that Target would be the ideal place to get them and not just any old Target, the rich people's Target. I got my prints, but unfortunately, the first print came out awful. The young man at the Service Desk noticed right away and came over to help us. I wish I had gotten his name. Not only did he reprint the pix for us at no charge (all of them cuz the Kodak machine doesn't allow you to reprint just one print), but he opened up the printer so my kids could see how it worked (pretty cool process...one layer of ink upon another). They were in awe, and I appreciate not only his help but his thoughtfulness. An hour later, after wandering the aisles and putting a thousand things in our cart that we really didn't need, we were greeted with the same great customer service at check-out. I love how at Target, they're always quick to open a register when they notice lines forming, which happened here, but also, I had to put back several things that my kids had snuck into the cart, and she was completely patient with us as I apologetically handed her the piles of things we didn't need. On top of all that, I notice that this Target always seems to have different things in stock...like with the clothing designers. I hadn't seen the Kirna Zabete line at Woodfield Target a couple nights ago, but they had it here tonight. And I remember they'd carried different Missoni and Zac Posen pieces here that the other Target stores in our area didn't carry. I seem to find the best things in clearance here too, especially shoes. I do a lot of my kids/baby shopping at Target and they always have our diapers in stock (other Targets can run out quickly). And that seems to be the way with everything else here. They just seem to always have everything I need. Our home Target can sometimes run out of inventory quickly - I assume since it's in such close proximity to Woodfield and gets the most range of customers. I know I'll continue making up excuses to go to Target, but now I'm afraid I might start convincing myself that this is Target is the only one I should go to. But, if they keep it up here, I'm not convinced that that's a bad thing. Oh, and btw, I love the family bathroom here. Sometimes, when you spend an hour+ in a store, your 5-year-old needs to use the potty...it's nice to have a big family bathroom with tons of space to help her do the do. This Target just isn't that great. When you first pull into the lot there's never anywhere close to park because it's all handicap spots or the employees have already used up all the spots so forget just dashing in there during bad weather, you're probably going to get wet. The clothes for women/girls is just meh. They really have about half the amount of clothing that most Targets have. I've tried going to the Starbucks here as well. The line is always super long and they just seem to struggle behind the counter. I had one employee ask me once how to make my Carmel Macchiato..um aren't you supposed to know stuff like that? It's usually a miss for me here, I still run in on occasion for a few items just because it's so close to my work but usually I just wait till I'm around home to go to one closer to me. read more

I don't like this Target that much compared to the other ones. I can walk around for about 30 minutes and no one will ask if I need help with anything. Even when they don't seem to be busy, they don't check up on you. Checking out can be a nightmare. They have at most 3 registers open even when the lines are long. The express lanes are never open. I can see workers standing around near the cash registers talking and no one opens an extra register. I'm not saying they should open when there are 3 people in line but if there are 5 people in all the lines and with big purchases they should at least open something. And what's the point of having an express lane if they aren't usable? They could cut some of the lines down if they could open up one at least when the lines are long. I have NEVER seen a cashier open up a spare register when it is busy. I've only had one issue where I needed to go to the customer service desk. I bought something and then a day later I saw that it was half off. I ran in there without the item because I wanted to know if I could do a price exchange or if it was even possible(if it was, I would have returned and brought the item). I read on the sign that you can do returns if you have the original form of payment if you don't have the receipt. So I asked the person standing there if you could do exchanges if you don't have the receipt. and she gave me a flat no. Even when I brought up the sign, she still said no without any reasoning. I didn't fight her because I had to go to work but I know better than to mess with this Target's customer service. The only reason I shop at this target is when I need a last minute lunch(which has been almost everyday this week) when I'm at work, anything else and I go to a different Target. read more

This target is actually in close vicinity to my school I often run there in between classes smaller on the scale of the targets that I'm normally used to this one does though have the Pizza Hut in the Starbucks just on a smaller scale I know I wanted to get a bakery item toasted and they didn't have a toaster there and I'm trying to get it done on the Pizza Hut side but they said they were not affiliated with each other and they wouldn't be able to help me out far as my bank good they also have Express check out if you're in a hurry the times that I am there as early today so they never have any cashiers anyways I'll find myself going to the Express checkout anyway the one complaint I would say about this target is most times that I go there I have to frequent the restroom and they are just a nasty gross mess they definitely need to assign someone who is responsible facilities at least once an hour read more

I am DONE with Target. DONE! It was a busy night and all the lanes were 5 people deep and I was directed by the manager to go to lane 7. BIG MISTAKE. They were training somebody who was scanning everything so incredibly slow, it was insane. So, the person in front of me needed price checks and had missing tags on her clothing that she was purchasing, and I had dairy products that were starting to get warm. So, instead of helping the next person, everyone waited and waited and waited and waited some more for someone to radio back with prices. The woman didn't even continue ringing up the rest of the customers items because the lady training her was just as incompetent. Nobody cared that the line was continuing to grow and grow. Finally, I felt my cold groceries (milk etc) getting warm and I couldn't take it anymore and told them I had been waiting for about 12 minutes, which is ridiculous because I was the very next person in line. The Target employee just shrugged. I left and they could care less. Went down the street to Walmart. They had better prices and plenty of cashiers and open registers. Oh, and I forgot to mention, my Target debit card got hacked last week. DONE. After many years of being a loyal customer, I'm through with Target. read more

This is an awesome Target that is large, doesn't have too many shoppers, and an awesome staff! I went in to buy some toilet bowl cleaner and the lady at the register rung me up fast saying, "Anything for a dude that will clean a toilet!" AMEN! I'll clean my toilet and buy cleaner every time I go now! They have all the typical amenities of a Target, large open space, and are located in an up and coming shopping center. There is also a Starbucks and Pizza Hut Express to cater to those that want coffee or a quick snack. Although very clean and organized I encountered very rude and unfriendly faces from customer service desk to self check out personal. Im used to having target team members ask if I need help finding anything and this was my first trip with no one approaching me. I was in the electronic section looking for a specific book and no one was around to help me look for it. When a team member finally appeared they were checking out a customer. When I reached the self check out area a very selfless person couldn't even give a smile as customers should be greeted. I had a Nintendo switch game in a sealed box with a clearance tag of 3.59 on it and when I scanned it rang up $19.99 he very rudely came over to the register I questioned if that wasn't the price and did not even make eye contact with me and replied "no" I asked him to then remove it from my transaction and appeared to roll his eye, remove the item and took it from my hands. I wouldn't have had a problem to ask for a supervisor and dispute the pricing as well as discuss his poor attitude but I frankly did not want to wait. This target location is the closest to me but I would definitely would rather drive a bit farther from now on to do my shopping. Unless I'm looking for something specific which only that target has, that would be the reason for my return. The negativism around the staff made me feel unsatisfactory from start to finish. read more

This Target is definitely not like any of their other stores in the area. There is never a space close to the door. The store seems large, but they don't have the same quantities of items that other Target stores have. The main difference at this store is the customer service, or lack of. Unlike other Target stores, whose associates are always asking you if you need help, you are rarely acknowledged at this store. If you need help you end up having to chase an associate down for help. And at any time there are only 2-3 registers open. read more

This location is the suckiest one I have ever been to and will try to avoid from now on! I came here to shop, just the usual. Browse and see what's new and also to buy some baby clothes for my son whose arriving soon. I went ahead and bought some home accessories too, snacks, baby stuff and a nice sweater for my husband. I was paying on the register when I remember to pick up my welcome bag from the customer service as I have done my baby registry at home a few days ago. I asked and the associate named Linda asked in a condescending tone, "is it for you?!" while looking at me from head to toe. She then say, I need you to show me the proof that you did the registry online and I asked where to find it and she couldn't say anything but repeated on how she needs to see the proof that I did it online. Embarrassed, I just left. My cousin didn't tell me that I have to show anything like that for when she picked up her welcome bag they didn't asked for anything although she went in a different location. This Target is a great location but the pharmacy is always busy on the weekends. The pharmacists are great and super helpful but always busy. With the recent closing of the CVS on Higgins all the customers were moved to this Target CVS pharmacy location. The weekend hours are not convenient and I waited 50 minutes for one medication to be filled. It would be beneficial if the hours were expanded or the pharmacists had more help! read more

I should've left the minute I stepped in .. it was such a mistake! My first stop was at Starbucks. I ordered a simple latte and the girl by the name of Yareli messed up my order. I was understanding of the situation since it was a busy day, but her attitude needs to go! I love Target so I brushed it off but then later had an even worse experience at checkout. The light for the register was on but no one was there to help me pay for my things. The girl checking me out didn't even greet me and continued to laugh about something that her coworker had said. Her manager or whoever the bigger guy was, kept laughing with her and was never told a single word. Horrible experience and terrible customer service. Never coming back here again. read more

Honestly super disappointed in the way I was treated not as a customer but as a person coming in for an interview. I've been applying at target for a long time because it seems like an ideal place to work so I was very excited when I got my first interview after applying for months hearing nothing. Came in for my interview which was scheduled for about an hour long. The man who interviewed me rushed through questions while actually cutting me off in the middle of speaking. I felt so uncomfortable and really frustrated as I had really looked forward to this. My interview was over in 10 minutes and at the end he told me someone would call me the next day for a over the phone second interview which I thought was odd. Today it has been over a week since my interview and I finally heard back from them after calling them everyday for a week straight, for HR to tell me they don't do over the phone interviews and that I would no longer be considered for hiring. I always thought target would have better management and be more organized than the current job I am at but I am glad to find out now rather than getting the job and finding out later. read more

Buyer beware! I have complained to management several times at this store. The prices on merchandise shelves OFTEN (more than 6 visits) does not show at check out counter. They are always sorry and apologize, but that doesn't help when I know there are hundreds of customers over paying for their items. If you do not watch the prices you are paying at the counter, you will be paying full price for items you bought on sale. It's to the point that I feel Target is scamming their customers. read more
