Of every modern large company that sells products online, Target has to be the worst. I mean absolutely dead-last. Of all the orders I've placed with Target, they legitimately screw up 30% of them. Items are often missing, quantities are incorrect, and things arrived damaged because the warehouse people at Target can't pack a box. My latest attempt at using Target's online store resulted in the entire order being damaged, and not because of FedEx, and it was because Target's people put exactly ZERO effort into the packaging. To make matters worse, the entire order sat in Target's system showing "Damaged / Delayed" for an entire WEEK. And what did Target do about it? Absolutely nothing. They didn't even notify me. These fools at Target just sat on the whole order, allowing it to stay unfulfilled. First, I attempted to use their online portal to fix the issue, which was broken too. So I had to spend another 30 minutes with some clueless CS rep in their online chat. Amusingly, the CS rep said, and I quote, "...without guest angriness, we do not take action." LOL! I appreciate the guy's honesty. Target's customer service person ultimately told me to wait and try again in a few days because he thought that the damaged items would somehow un-damage themselves by waiting. I never did receive my completed order and ultimately just initiated a chargeback with my bank. The best thing you can do against a company that can't get their act together is initiate chargebacks. It costs them a fortune and damages their merchant account. Also: don't shop at Target. High prices and non-existent customer service, and a useless online shopping portal are a trifecta of FAIL. read more

TRUST THOSE WHO YELP REGULARLY... POOR customer service at the front of the store. My elderly mother was helped by a wonderful young girl at the dressing rooms. Wish I had gotten her name for this review, but she has remarkable style and an unforgettable high voice. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Sadly, she had to send us to the front of the store for help ordering a pair of jeans they couldn't locate on-site (computer showed 2 pair in stock). Waited an extraordinary amount of time at Customer Service, only to be told by someone who portrayed themselves like a manager to go home and order them online. #nothappy with that inconsiderate waste of a being. So we did... we came home, ordered the jeans online, which were to be delivered from the Encinitas store we just came from. UGH! The delivery arrived a day later than expected with the WRONG SIZE jeans. Back online we go to find instructions to print a mailing label and DELIVER the package to UPS or FedEx. They want US to further go out of our way to accommodate their screw up. I wonder if the employee packaging the jeans felt the size was close enough, since that was all they could find at their store. No... Great store with plenty of parking in a great location. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. As with all Target's, they have everything you need. I love coming here for things we need for grooming, stuff for our dog and holiday goodies. I also love going through the clearance areas as once in a while, I find things I actually like or need. Best Target in the area! If you're looking for clothing or home furnishing, this location has a much better selection than any other location nearby. I was super impressed when I went to their apparel section and found items that I had only seen online before. It's located in an affluent area, so many that's why. I don't live there, but I don't mind driving over when I need to buy clothing from Target! It's worth the drive! read more

This store is like 2 acres or more. You need to be in top physical condition, like an endurance athlete, to shop in this store. The bathrooms are located in just one corner near the entrance, so if you're in the far end of the store and suddenly you need to go you literally need to hike a quarter mile to the bathroom. Whatever idiot came up with this architecture, and the idiot who signed off on it, I hope they get stuck in some sort of perpetual retail hell where they are constantly walking, trying to find the things they need. Even the so-called aisles, by which the store is supposedly organized, A, B, C, D, are unmarked. This is the concept of a big box store gone bad, taken to its ridiculous limit. I've shopped at Targets before and usually they are a good experience, this one...? Never again. If you're shopping with small kids or elderly relatives, forget it. read more

So I worked at a Target years ago in the HR department so I'm pretty familiar with all the terms and how everything works. I did an online order for pick up because I did not have time to go shop for it and did not want to wait for shipping. Aside from that, I needed it tonight as we have guest coming in tomorrow. I came here ready to run in and out but ended up at Target for over 40 minutes! The guest service person was P and she was helping a person in front of me. Totally fine except she was incredibly slow. When it was my turn, she was very slow at typing in my name and searching for my item. She could not find my order so she contacted the backroom to see if it was there. It was not. So then the backroom person had to go find it on the floor. They brought up a wreath. Wrong item. I ordered a garland. The backroom person went back to the floor. Came back and told me they could not find it anywhere on the floor. Asked me what the email said and I told them the email said my order was ready for pick up. They said okay let me check the truck. They called over the walkie and said they did not have the garland anywhere in the store! P then called the LOD, A. A asked to see my email. I showed her. A went back to find the garland. She took forever so we just cancelled it and left. Needless to say, I wasted a total of 40+ minutes waiting for them to find my item which they were unable to find. Why would I get an email stating my order was ready? I have no idea. I should have just shopped for it. Unbelievable. read more

This is a huge Target, certainly the largest one I've seen in San Diego County. Recently renovated, it is well lit, bright and airy, with very high ceilings in much of the store. It is laid out and stocked very well. To the right when you enter is European-style coffee bar (Starbucks). There are 10 checkouts with cashiers and 12 self checkouts. In addition to the in-store CVS pharmacy, there is a walk-in Clinic. Associates are friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful. read more

Whelp, I guess this is my new go-to Target now since this is the closest one to my house. It's not Super Target like the one by my old house but it still has a lot of options as far as groceries go. Their options for Christmas wasn't as ample either, but I think overall they still keep the same concept as any Tar-jayyyyy would have. I am absolutely flabbergasted after visiting this Target tonight. After spending almost $300.00 a couple of weeks ago on bathing suits, I attempted to return a few of them at the service desk tonight just before closing at 9:30. As I stood in line, the guy at the desk ignored me until he was done texting and proceeded to be so extremely rude. He did not greet me or show any form of proper customer service. To top it off, one of the items I was returning (a pair of bathing suit bottoms) did not have a tag. I told him that the day I had purchased them at the self check out a Target employee had to ring them up for me because there was no tag. Then he proceeded to tell me the item wasn't even on my receipt of purchase and was so rude about it. When I assured him she had charged me for them he insisted again that it was not on the receipt. I knew I had been charged for them so I said Ok well never mind I'll just keep them then. He proceeded to say very loudly, while completely embarrassing me in front of the line behind me, "So you're just going to take them even though you didn't pay for them? I explained that she must have charged me for another item or something. Then he said the same thing to me again and was so mean about it. I left so embarrassed and upset I didn't even get to shop for the things I came for after my return. I will never come back to this Target if that guy is there. That was a terrible experience that I did not deserve, especially after being such a loyal Target shopper. I had to walk out of there looking like some kind of shop lifter! How someone with that kind of attitude and poor customer service skills can be working there is beyond me. Wow! And I checked my receipt when I left and what do ya know... the item is on the receipt. If he knew what he was doing he would have easily took note of THE ONLY ITEM on my receipt that does not have a brand name and instead is so clearly displayed in capital letters SWIM BOTTOM! I ordered a dive up Order at 8am by 5pm the order was still "processing" I drove 35 min to get to this store after calling the customer service line 10 times without an answer. She told me "we're a whole day behind"and "there is nothing I can do for you." I understand, but her crappy attitude made the whole experience so much worse. She then proceeded to say "why are you even here when your order says it's still processing" I replied back "I know it says prosessing, but also said it would be ready in 2 hours". If you ever need a stop watch feel free to borrow an employee from this location! Came in 15 minutes before closing to get one thing, upon arrival an employee screamed WE CLOSE IN 15 MINUTES! Yea no shit! I'll be out by then let me get what I need. After, I needed to ask for help from another employee to unlock a case for me and when I asked her, she pulled out her phone, checked the time, and then proceeded to tell me "well we close in 10 minutes" ok, you're still open, can you open the case for me so I can leave considering I'm a burden to you? I needed a table for a beach get-together today! So, I checked the Target website and it said the table I wanted was "in stock", so I got in my car and drove down to Encinitas. Apparently at Encinitas, this means at least a 2 hour delay which I am told is unusual as they have an offsite. Ok fine, however, the website didn't indicated this prompting me to drive down and waste time. Please change the definition of "in stock" at Encinitas to indicate a potential delay of 2 hours so people like me don't drive down for nothing. I can't tell you how much I love Target... I love every Target and I am not sure I have ever been to a bad Target. Some locations I love more than others but they are all Target in the end. This location was perfect when I was pregnant because it was right by a Buy Buy Baby and I could go back and forth between the two stores to make sure I got everything I needed for the baby. I have always been able to get everything I need at this Target and as always, prices are competitive and you can use your RedCard and save even more! I just received my credit card bill and see that i was charged twice on sep 26. I remember that The cashier was struggling and had me put my card back in the machine after I thought it had paid and said everything was fine but the two charges say otherwise. Target oh Target, why do you frustrate me so? This has happened a lot to me lately. I come in with a list of 5 fairly basic items I need and they will have one of them exactly, two of them they won't have at all, one will be sold out and one will be a partial match (expensive) that I'll settle on because I want to at least complete something on my list. It's been this way with all Target's I've been too lately. It's hard, because I don't want to go to that "other place", you know, the one that starts with a "W". But they will have all 5 items I wanted, I will locate the items quickly and easily and they will be at the prices I want to pay. So why do I keep coming back and trying Target? Customer service at this location is trash , majority of the employees here avoid eye contact and try to hide in aisles to avoid helping customers . Ginormous store, way bigger than the one near my house. Even the cafe area seems like lots of available seats. I walked in and there a Starbucks on the left with multiple seating areas. It reminds me of airport cafe but nicer and more comfy. I came in to kill sometime between lessons. Checked out there women's clothes area. They had bikinis out and ready for our hot April weather lmao! Only in California... I bought a couple of t-shirts and tanks for $6 each. Even there clearance section had some choice clothes. Next to women's department was a huge electronics department. Way bigger than the one in Mira Mesa & two helpful employees as well. I browsed threw the electronics and was asked if I need help. I went in looking for a certain type of paper towel and online it said there was plenty in stock to add to a pick up order at that location. I decided to go into the store to be certain of not getting a substitution. There was just one long aisle of floor to ceiling only Bounty it was like a strange dream. There was a small end cap of target brand and Viva. I needed to get some laundry detergent too but It was not all stocked in the same place, Is this to hide lack of selection? I got sick of searching. The beauty department update does look nice. On an impulse I decided to get some eye cream before checking out but everything in that department was you guessed it in different places too. I had enough of walking around in circles. I deprived a real person of a job and used a robot to get out of there with my paper towel substitution. read more

Horrible experience. So my husband and I went there to get some Pokémon cards 6 packs we were going to pay for them separately. But the lady was yelling us. Then we felt threatened and offended she took the birthday bag out of my hands to look in it for anything and tries to give it back to us. I said nope you ruined it. She said she has the right and it's for security reasons. #1 I don't steal so get your shit straight. My husband and I told our families about this. This is my favorite Target. Probably because I know the layout of the store so well. Well stocked, organized, great prices yada, yada, yada. It's a Target. They always seem to have my size in whatever I'm looking for. They also have a nice grocery section that seems to have cheaper prices overall then the local grocery stores. This store has completely gone downhill. The past four or five times I have been to the Encinitas location, it's been like cold war Russia. The shelves in many of the different departments are empty and in complete disarray when they do have a few items. Basic items on the Cartwheel app are completely wiped out (simple things like toothpaste and nail polish remover!). On a previous visit, there wasn't a single bottle of ANY brand of nail polish remover. Thankfully, if I want a clothing item I can find it online, because it's probably missing from the store as well. I have recently been to Target stores in Oceanside and Vista, and they are well stocked and in good order. I'm not sure what's going on with management at the Encinitas store, but it's a huge disappointment to shop there now. read more

It was remodeled and looks more upscale now and has a large section of male grooming products. I was impressed by the amount of mixed nuts available when I was there yesterday. However, I needed toilet paper and refused to pay Target's ridiculously high prices (even for generic). Likewise for toothpaste. And, juice. Not a place to buy basic necessities. $$$$$$$$ read more
