Pistachio cheesecake

The bakery has a new pistachio cheesecake. So if you love pistachio, I highly recommend. It seems like the bakery, food court, and deli department seem to have different products every month. So don't miss out on new things at Costco!

It's a Costco so won't be breaking any new ground with this review. What does stand out about this location is everyone who works here is so nice! Really friendly and helpful. I love walking through the bourbon aisle because every now and then you will find a STEAL like Blanton's at $65.99. I dream of the day where I will see Weller or Pappy. It will be one of the happiest days of my life. I saw a bottle of Pappy at another Costco many years ago and didn't know what it was. I wish I could go back in time and slap my younger self upside the head. Something that I struggle with is the idea of regret and making bad choices. I've been working on how they are just "learning opportunities". I have now learned the value of Pappy. Something I will never regret is going into Costco.

Always fun to see inventory from different locations. Picked up some new & needed stuff. Selection of Christmas was nice & lots of clothing on clearance. Quick checkout even with many lane open. Love Oceanside for its trendy eye glass selections.

I was in Carlsbad for the weekend to attend the pickleball tournament in San Clemente. My dear friend from elementary threw a combined high school and college graduation party for her 3 children on that same weekend. I was only 35 mins away from her house. I RSVPed to attend the party as well. I came to this Costco in Carlsbad to get some gift cards. It was only 7 mins from my hotel. Cool! I ended up getting 2 Landry's Restaurants and 2 See's Candies. Great thing about these gift cards is that they are sold at a discounted rate. For example, you get $100 at the price of $79.99. Basically, it's almost 20% off. Discount varies by vendor. I also got 3 bags of avocados. Each bag of 6 avocados was $9.99. That's about $1.67 per avocado. They are on the larger side, but price is still quite steep if you ask me. Anyway, this Costco is no different than any other Costco. It also has Costco Gas. No Costco Car Wash though. They weren't too busy for a Saturday morning. However, parking lot was pretty full. Probably because parking lot is a bit smaller than most. My visit was very short. Walked in and got what I needed. Paid for my purchase via self check-out and walked out. Although, I did stop by the roses and snapped a few photos. It's always nice to see the flowers. Thank you Costco!

Steve and Greg are very patient guys, thank you for handling those rude costumers!

7-11-26 Saturday. Cash Register 3, Miss Julie I think is the most beautiful tall blonde lady at Costco Carlsbad. She's kinda, courteous, and professional. Thank all the hard-working team members. The team is helpful and will go out of their way to help you. There are few that needs work on their personality, but overall this Costco is great.

Whole pepperoni pizza -$9.99

Came on a Sunday afternoon and the gas line was quick and easy - Surprised to get in and out in less than ten minutes! We came by for an early dinner at the Costco food court and ordered a whole pizza. Didn't realize it would 40 minutes to prepare, so I'll keep in mind to order ahead next time. Pizza was hot out of the oven and is great value for $9.99. This Costco food court was better stocked than the last one I went to, and was relatively clean.

yeah, I'm a fan. sometimes I'm just too worn out or to beat up to make a big project outta dinner and am figuring out ways to turn ready-to-eat stuff from Costco into good eats for the family. last visit, a nice lady at Costco was passing out samples of Motor City Pizza Company's Detroit-style, deep-dish, double pepperoni pizza. thought it was pretty good and would work on one of those lazy nights when I just wasn't up for cooking. added a Taylor Farms Salad Sunflower Crunch Salad fortified with Kirkland Bacon Crumbles (crisped in the microwave), Boursin Cheese, and Kirkland Fancy Whole Cashews. ate on paper plates (also from Costco). no muss. no fuss. no drama.

Don't miss the booze section! March 2025

Hadn't been here for years and I stopped in because I was in the area. It was better than I remembered and one of the largest clothing sections I have seen at any of the Costcos. Hubby enjoyed the local beer selection and he got a bottle of Buffalo Trace that he said was a good deal and I got a cava brut rose that was pretty good. Parking was busy on a Sunday, but that is the way it is at all the Costcos. If this was in my LA neighborhood, I would be a regular. Also right by the Carlsbad Strawberry Fields and the outlet mall.

Yum

This Costco food court is outside. Dirty and unorganized to say the least. I come here for the pizza after shopping obviously and the pizza was just okay. How do you mess up a Costco pizza. My pizza was cold and I waited for a very long time. The Costco in vista is wayyyy better in my opinion and I won't be coming back to this one

Which is ok, I totally understand. I really never shop in the morning, or neither have I ever been on site right during opening. So when staff told me I had to wait, I was okay with it. STAFF BECAME RUDE WITH COMMUNICATION: So I got comfortable sitting by the pillar that was next to the shopping carts towards the front of the entrance, a gentleman that was wearing an orange vest, asks me to move because I cannot be waiting by the entrance section. " all other members that are waiting for the 930 timeslot are waiting in line on the side of the building" -there was no line -I walked up to the same gentlemen, and I let him know. "I don't know which line you're talking about. There is no line" - "There's a line on the side of the building!" There was no line on the side of the building. I was walking back-and-forth, searching for this so-called line. So when I asked him to walk me over to the end of line, he pointed at the pillars where random people were sitting. I communicated and let him know that is not a line. He essentially changed his explanation by saying "you can't block the entrance mam! Executive membership get first priority" Sir I understand and respect that you currently are serving executive members, but please do not say that there is a line on the side of the building. It's very misleading. You can simply just say " we are currently serving executive members from 9 AM to 930. We respectfully need to have this entrance section cleared so that we can service these members. You are welcome to wait anywhere on the side of the building other than by the entrance section. We apologize for any inconvenience, thank you for your understanding" Communication goes a long way.

My favorite is Vista, Carlsbad is second, business center 3rd, and last is the one off of Nordahl. This one seems to have the most expensive gas of the 3 that have gas. This one seems to change the layout / where things are located more often (which is annoying) and leads to loss of efficiency and taking less time to shop. Maybe that is a strategy to get you to stay longer and spend more. The gas station is easy to get in and out of, but does not have as many pumps as the Vista and Nordahl locations (but they were renovated over the last few years). This one probably sees a lot of vacationers visiting Lego Land the flower fields and the parking can be full on weekends, especially with all of the other businesses in there like Starbucks, Crumbl, Nothing Bundt cake, etc. The staff are friendly, the lighting is the same (kind of dreary, like at all of their locations), floors are clean and swept regularly. I avoid this one because of the parking, and the higher gas prices, but it is not as bad as the Nordahl location, which is the worst. The shoppers there are the rudest people I have ever been around and I have seen fights and almost fights break out over parking, cutting, etc. Vista seems to be more chill and relaxed, so I go to that one, and the gas can be a little more or a little less than Nordahl. I like Costco but definitely don't like the parking hassles at most locations. Pro tip, get gas as soon as they open or right before close, the lines are much shorter, less aggrivation.

I bought a shirt there. I had some tops I was hoping to get rid of it so I thought I would tried selling there. I should have known better, I've tried selling clothes at Plato's Closet, Flashback, Buffalo Exchange etc...and they never take my stuff. I don't know why and I promise I always made sure they were clean and in good condition. They were brands they listed they accepted on the site: Anthropologie and American Eagle...they didn't take any. The girls were super nice and I appreciated it. But it just always seemed wild to me that they take on brands such as Wild & Fable and A New Day...and my stuff isn't that super outdated again I don't know their process for selecting clothes because they do have curated pieces. In summary, for shopping it could be fun and you can find some stuff but not on a thrift price. However as for selling, unfortunately at this point now I've just never had a good experience selling clothes at these kind of places. If you want to sell clothes you will have better luck on Poshmark where I've sold clothes more easily. So this place can be fun for buying but for selling you might leave feeling frustrated and confused which is why I rated this place at 3 stars.

There's no food court, no clothing section, and no gas station, which means the store is much easier to navigate and far less crowded than a traditional Costco. It's ideal forbulk purchasing, with early hours and a focus on restaurant, office, and commercial supplies. My favorite part? No sample stations. That means no groups of people blocking aisles while waiting for a tiny morsel of food. I can get in, find what I need, and check out without fighting crowds or maneuvering around carts parked in the middle of the aisle. So annoying! The store has a great selection of bulk food, beverages, and business supplies, and the quieter atmosphere makes shopping much more enjoyable. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the selection is more limited than a regular Costco warehouse. Still, if you're looking for a faster, less stressful Costco experience, this is an option. The service has been consistent. The value, well; shop around to check pricing. Costco isn't always the cheapest.
