Constant ridiculous parking lot situation, constantly out of everything that I came there to get but the closest Target to my house - huge sigh. Of course I manage to find cute things but they are 1) never on sale and 2) higher priced than a specialty store. I do like the Starbucks inside and have a love/hate relationship with the fact that none of my phones work inside this place. Sometimes it is a blessing and at other times it is a curse. This Target is the king of all Targets. It's massive, offering huge departments with everything you're looking for and a full kitchen/produce section. On top of the already expansive parking lot (covered and uncovered), there are 11 Tesla Superchargers in the covered parking garage, which is so convenient! You can charge your car and peruse the aisles easily within an hour. On busy weekend days there is staff sanitizing shopping carts and passing them to incoming customers, the seasonal section is always bursting with cute new merchandise. On a recent visit, the woman at the check out counter walked me through downloading the Target app, then helped me find the best deals for what I was buying! read more

The redesign has ruined this store for me. I used to love coming to this Target but now its totally different. The layout is confusing and the aisles harder to navigate. Also the lighting is really harsh, like an old department store look. It feels like they made the store older, and more depressing. Also, it seems like there are way less options in the kids clothing area and less options all around the store. Way less of the cute, fun stuff that I used to splurge on. Also... (so many issues) we miss the old snack bar. The new Starbucks in here is way too huge and feels like a waste of space. And then the last problem was always true and still seems true...Target, please stop putting out things 6 months in advance. It's December and I went to do some holiday shopping only to find that they had removed the gift tables to make room for spring swimsuits! Every year, if you want school supplies get them in Spring (before your teacher has even given a list) and if you want Christmas lights you better grab them in August. It's ridiculous! read more

I'm torn on this review as I love Target and also feel like this Target is always clean and well put together. However, they have the SLOWEST cashier lines of any other Target store that I've been in. I actually cringe when walking towards checkout. This could be because many are using this as a grocery store (and I do usually pick up some random grocery items when I visit), but it's always a production to try to pay. There are always those folks trying to change lines 4 times and sighing behind you because they're in a hurry. So, to reiterate...to not go here when you are in a hurry. Outside of this, it's a great store. It's huge, has everything and is usually well stocked. Stuff is in it's place and organized and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable if asked a question. The parking lot is usually a mess, but go with an open mind and you can score some good deals at a great store that is thankfully relatively conveniently located in the city. read more

On price match policy: don't say you'll price match amazon and then back out on some bogus technicality of the weird device you are pulling it up on. Animal crossing is $10 less on amazon, I pulled it up on my phone in front of store clerk, from the official Nintendo store on amazon as the seller. The store clerk has some other weird device they use and his "version" of it has a must click on item to see price screen, which apparently automatically means they won't price match (for no good reason given since it's an official seller and not a private seller). When he clicked on why, it said because list price is much lower than standard market price....basically it's too good a deal for them to match ‍. Long story short I had to wait an extra day but spend $10 less to get on amazon. read more

This target has undergone a complete makeover and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I love coming to this location because they tend to have a larger variety of items due to the demographics of the area vs my local target. They usually have a very neat and organize kids clothing section, with lots of available sizes as well as many organic, vegan, healthy food options. However after my last visit, I don't know how soon I will be returning. I wanted to love the remodel, but strolling through the aisles, I felt like I was shopping at Sears? Very "department store" feel and I didn't like it. I get what they were going for, large open spaces making items more visible to the consumer but it really takes away the target feel we all love. Some of their displays are pretty neat though, not gonna lie! The children's clothes section was an absolute mess! There was clothes all over the floor making difficult to stroll around. The food aisles have decreased in size as well. Overall, I really miss the old target feel. I'm sure I will get over it and still shop there but just had to share my experience. Parking is still crazy here. Avoid coming here during the weekend! I have found that later in the evenings or mid mornings is best. read more

I know, it's Target, but it's fabulous. It's bright, well organized and has almost everything you need (and plenty of stuff you don't) at reasonable prices. I don't think I've ever been here and left only with what I came for. I no longer pretend that I will only fill a basket, I go straight for a cart - really who did I think I was kidding? Certainly not my wallet. So today my week-long search finally ended. I was looking for a birthday card for my dad, not just any card, but a funny one too. It couldn't be one that played music either, I already have to white out the prices on my cards (no joke) because he thinks the greeting card industry is a racket. I'm convinced there's some sort of dad-birthday card conspiracy going on around town. I mean I scoured at least 7 CVS and Walgreens (even one in the burbs!) looking for the perfect card, not only did I not find the perfect one, I had trouble finding one period. A few stores didn't even have sections marked "His Birthday"! The ones that did had plenty of husband, brother, son cards, but only 1 or 2 dad cards and most times they weren't funny. What's up with that? Did I miss a memo? Do dad's no longer get birthday cards? Fortunately, Target isn't in on the conspiracy, they had a whole aisle of cards for "him" and a decent selection of cards for dad. This is the worst Target store I have ever been to. First about 2 Months ago I went in and bought a few groceries and some spray bleach. The employees there I find to be the rudest I have ever seen. Don't get in their way when they are bringing items or moving a cart because they will run you over. I didn't realize until I got home the cashier bagged the bleach with food items and it leaked all Over. Target accepts personal checks, but apparently they don't accept personal checks from black women that is over $100? I asked why is this not stated on Target.com? I asked to speak with Lee Crum the store manager, and was denied access by his staff. Amy, told me that he had stepped out, and that she could help me resolve the issue ..that was a lie. Ponchico told me that he was basically on the same level as the store manager and that he could help me... that was a lie. This location needs to be investigated and exposed. Target has a system set into place that openly discriminates against certain customers. I understand the company is trying to protect themselves against fraud, but I don't think they can achieve this by not accepting personal checks from black women that over $100. I believe that discrimination is an eyesore, and companies openly practicing discrimination should be banned from our economy. At any rate, I will continue to dispute this issue. read more

Went to this target today to get done grocery. I walked around the section for at lease 20 minutes and not one employee asked if I needed help. I asked a young man for some ground beef he didn't know where it was and told me to ask someone else. I found another young man went up to him and said excuse me and he couldn't hear me because he had headphones on. How can you work in a store with thousands of customers and have on headphones? When I found what I needed I saw the store manager 2 other managers standing in the aisle talking and not even acknowledging one customer. How can you as a leader expect your team to have customer service skills when the leaders have none? Hello We are this Target store 2x a month, each time spending several hundred dollars. My mother asked one of the men in the Tech department with a black tech t-shirt and black hair and was a taller guy if they had iphones. After a pause the technician answered her back uhhh yes we have iphones. There was no reply back from the "tech" guy, no offering of assistance and no interest in making a sale...we then asked where are they? He then pointed with his finger and said over there. I then stepped in and asked where is over there??? He then stopped his conversation with another employee who was at some sort of end stand...and then got closer to the iphone to just point again. This is terrible customer service, it took longer to find some sort of management on the floor to address my concern only to be told that the Target Tech people are not Target employees and there is nothing he can do about them. Meh, let's just say my last trip here confirms why I still say 'nay' when it comes to this location, and avoid this location as much as I can. Parking lot is a mess, the poor planning of not directly connecting the parking garage with an entrance into the store(bravo for Target smartly doing this at the Addison Mall store), and the constant crowds this location has. Won't completely trash it, since at least this store usually has the express checkout lanes open, and they were smart enough to have virtually all regular checkout lanes open last time I was here. Some of the staff at least appear to be friendly and efficient, and at least are improving, but good luck if you run into one who isn't. I appreciate that the cleanliness of this location seems to be slowly getting better here, though the layout of the store(for whatever odd reason!) continues to occasionally throw me off whenever I think it won't. I can't help but agree(ha!) with the person who mentioned this one may as well be a 'petting zoo' 9 times out of 10, and that this one may as well be converted into a Super Target. Pains me to say this, and though luckily it isn't quite equivalently bad as this, I view this Target location almost on the same low bar as I do the Wal-Mart on Touhy Ave. in Niles. Will give them credit that both the regular checkout lanes and express ones are a lot quicker here than they are at the above-mentioned Wal-Mart, and that the shopping experience isn't quite as painful as that Mall-Wart. :) I remain loyal to the Addison Mall and Peterson Ave. locations, whenever I need a Target fix! read more

Let me preface this review by saying, "This could probably happen anywhere." But it didn't, it happened here. After my lovely time of looking for items, not finding what I needed, and not getting much assistance, I headed for the checkout lane. After checking out, I couldn't hold it anymore and headed to the bathroom to relieve myself. The bathroom was disgusting! I had to peep in the first few stalls to find one that was acceptable enough to cover in tp. As I sat down, my boyfriend opened the main door of the facility to let my 3-year-old daughter in and started to yell into the bathroom to let me know she was coming in. Next thing I hear is screaming and yelling and cursing. Apparently when my boyfriend tried to let my daughter in, he saw a man in the bathroom. The man said that he went in there on accident. The crazy part is, he was lying. Men recognize a women's bathroom by the missing urinals. When I went into the bathroom, I did not see him. While I was in the stall, noone entered the bathroom. The only logical conclusion I could come to was that he was hiding in a stall. I'm writing this as a review of Target because when my boyfriend grabbed the guy, security made him let the guy go, and he left. They did not question him at all and treated my boyfriend like a criminal while other shoppers were yelling, "I would have punched him if I was you!" and "Good job, screw these fake cops!" Security, after hearing the entire story, decided they should try to find the guy to question him. Guess what though???? He was long gone! LESSON: PLEASE, NEVER LET YOUR CHILDREN GO INTO A PUBLIC BATHROOM UNACCOMPANIED! I never do anyways, but here's more proof of how dangerous it really is. read more

When I realized how close I was to a Target, my eyes grew big and my wallet whimpered. It's within walking distance to my place, though I always manage to buy way more than I can carry back to my place. The layout is different than locations I'm used to back in Michigan, but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon enough. Discovery Presents Life has been blowing my mind for the past few Sundays. I've been glued to the edge of my bed literally inches from the television, not wanting to touch the controller for the fear of missing a second of this breathtaking visual experience. Commercials allow me to take a breather. A time to relax from a tense fetal position I find myself in throughout the program. This is highly exaggerated of course but the point is, it's cussin amazing. I don't know what else to say. It kinda makes you really want to save this world. Anyways, I'm off on a tangent here, but what I was getting at is Target is the proud sponsor of LIFE, which means they get plenty of air-time during commercials. I believe they have the right intentions. Unlike BP whose dumping crap on Lake Michigan. I'm off on a tangent again. Most of their products are eco-friendly and they give you five cents back every time you use a reusable bag when you shop there. They told a young mom to breastfeed in the family bathroom. Nope and nope. I talked to the manager and he was less than helpful. When someone asks, "Where can I breastfeed?" the correct answer is: anywhere you please. If she wants privacy, offer her a fitting room for God's sake. No one should eat in the bathroom, especially not a tiny baby. And FYI, there is NO WHERE to sit in a bathroom but on the TOILET. Breastfeeding is hard enough without doing it sitting on the toilet. Target can have it's moments, I'll concede - but good AND BAD. My goal on Sunday: buy two black stools for my kitchen island. Problem: When I arrived here, and found the stool inventory, they were out of the model I wanted: the "Luis," in black. I considered going over to the Addison Target, where I'd seen the stool a day earlier. (I had come to this Elston Target because it is closer). But before trekking to the Addison Target, it was suggested to me that I call the Addison Target to see if they had the stool in stock. First I thought: "Nah, they'll have it. They had it just yesterday. Let's just go over there." Then, on the way out I spied "Guest Services," and thought perhaps Guest Services would have a computer that would indicate if the Addison Store had the stool in stock. Enter Guest Services. Wait in line appx. 7 minutes. Step up to the counter to be served by a real-life Lisa Lubner character. I tell Lisa I want to know if the Addison store has the "Luis" kitchen stool, in black. I spell "Luis" for her and give her an inventory number. SHE PICKED UP THE TELEPHONE, CALLED THE ADDISON STORE AND SAYS: Do you have Lewis Black's stool? SHE THEN SAYS NOTHING, BUT STARES AT ME. I ask: are you on "hold?" She nods yes. I didn't bother to tell her Lewis Black is a comedian, and that I'm not amused. I could have called the Addison store myself, and could have been there before I would get an answer this way. We just left. I don't like feeling like one of the masses, served by people who prove the adage so true: job placement is never random. Target: for the masses. A fine store if you don't have questions or need anything. Me: snob. But I'm fine with that. read more

I just moved to Chicago, and after outfitting my place with the crappiest stuff money can buy from Ikea, I went to this Target for other household essentials. Mother. Of. God. I made a terrible mistake by going on a Sunday and was positive I was undergoing some sort of hazing/ritualistic torture. This place isn't Target, it's Target's evil twin brother, or bizarro-Target from the depths of hell or something Parking there had to have been one of the most stressful experiences of my life! I honked at some old dude after he yoinked the spot I had been waiting 10 minutes for, and I was seriously worried he was going to shank me upon entering the store. I eventually found a spot and wandered the store in a daze for the next hour. Nothing I needed was stocked or easy to find on the shelves. The whole store was like some awful domestics war-zone: screaming children, appliances/candles/undergarments strewn about, and an every-man-for-himself mentality. I love Target...but I'm going to give it some space til the PTSD subsides. read more

This review is ONLY for the Photo Lab inside the store... When you walk in, take a sharp right and keep walking- The Photo Lab is hidden behind all the dvds, so you might miss it. If you ever find yourself in need of photo developing, the kind women here will hook you up. I went in there twice with a bag full of disposables, and I was like "err, help?" and boy howdy did they. They made everything so much easier, and gave us a HUGE discount at the end. You do NOT find customer service like that anymore- Especially in Targ's. Careful tho, its almost impossible to go into a Target and not buy a cart-load of random crap. But hey, if you're going, call me and I'll go with. read more

This Target sucks. it is dirty and dingy, in a seemingly perpetual cycle of being restocked, with whole aisles of nearly bare shelves, and random shopping carts full of assorted items all over the store. It is virtually impossible to find a sales associate when you need one, and if you do, they probably will just tell you they are out of stock on whatever you're looking for. Convenient location gets two stars. About half the time I drive an extra 10 minutes to the Addison location, just because it is marginally better. read more
