I usually love Target stores... but I am unimpressed by this particular location. I haven't visited any other Target stores in the city, so it may be better than others, but it doesn't thrill me. I usually walked to this store, so while I didn't need it often, the largely covered parking lot was nice. And the store itself was large and in good, clean condition. For home goods and things, it was good, but I hated it for groceries. I usually am pretty basic with my recipes, but I would often come up empty-handed when looking for certain ingredients. Even if the Target carried certain products, I would frequently find items out of stock. This Target was okay for emergency groceries and things, but for normal grocery shopping, I would have to drive to Jewel. read more

I only give it two stars because I love Target so, but this location is always out of stuff! I can't believe people are bitching about the Elston location, when that one is so much more organized and better stocked than this one. For example, I want this cute new shirt. What? You only have it in XS and XXL? And housewares? Forget about it. All of those dorm kids down the street snatch them up immediately. So it takes 7 months to get more extension cords or whatever in stock. In summary, any Target is better than this one, and I only go here when I'm at school. read more

I refer to this as the gay target. In my world, that's a compliment of some caliber. For whatever reason, I shop the one on Howard/Evanston out of utility, and this one on P'son for the people watching. Shallow, but true. Seriously, there are some hot people up in this place. Look everyone's been to Target, so it not really much point in describing the store. The parking here is plentiful and it's not over crowded or trashy like the one on Elston. I could actually breathe and shop at a relaxed pace here, and get pretty much anything that's available on their website. I can't say that about most Targets in the city, so for that it earns 4 stars. read more

Very clean facility with a huge covered parking ramp. Tip is to be careful in the garage as there are some aggressive drivers so be alert driving and keep the little ones close when walking into the store. There is a Starbucks in case you need a morning jolt or quick pick me up in the afternoon for your retail session! read more

This has been a year in the making, but I was in there on Sun, and can not belive what I saw. The shelves were so bare, I wanted tolit paper and there were like only like 2 left of the brand i needed, and I couldnt even reach them cause they were pushed so far back on the shelf. The one on Howard is way better and has way more selection, im highly dissapointed. read more

I feel like every time I come in here the floors are dirty. There's even dust sitting on some items in the store. But at the end of the day because it's Target of course I walk out of here with more things than I came in for. I hate that spell Target puts on you! Wonderful experience at Target! I needed some assistance getting a new kitchen blender and Marco was amazing in helping me out. Got me the correct item and helped me find the Halloween decorations. I love this Target. I'd gone to the Target on Elston (ugh) for most of my Target runs and it was always crowded, ransacked, and annoying. Children are fine, but having 50 of them running around at my feet while I try to pick out my merchandise is something I can do without. Then I discovered the Target on Peterson and fell in love. They have a ton of inventory and the store is clean and not as crowded as other locations I've been to. They also have a fantastic parking facility. There are lots of checkout lanes, too, which seems to expedite the whole checkout process. Definitely my favorite Target on the North side. read more

I just want to say that this Target rarely disappoints. The shelves are always stocked, and if you live in Edgewater, RP, or anywhere closeby, you have to LOVE the fact that the parking lot NEVER rivals the insanity of Lincoln Park, Addison, or even the Target in Niles. That said, they DO seem to have cut back on staffing the checkouts lately. No matter what anyone says about people not spending, Target is still a draw, and it gets a little old to wait in line for 10 minutes to spend $20. Yesterday, however, was a pleasant surprise - as a young Indian guy helpfully informed my friend and I that his aisle was open - and THEN asked if we had any coupons or gift cards, prompting my friend to save $1.00. These are tough times - and a cashier who cares AND helps you save money? He's a dream :) (Also, big props for the cleanliness and selection - always, always stocked). read more

this target is everything. so huge. the beauty and clothes sections are massive. could use some more home decor but wow I could be here all day. also archer farms (target brand) has never let me down with frozen spanakopita, crab rangoon, cheesecake or anything the brand sells for that matter. free parking too !! best target ever read more

Have you ever heard the expression, "Location, Location, Location"? If you have, they you know this applies to this Target. It could not be any better unless I lived right new door. Close enough to walk to and from, as long as I don't go crazy, which I have done from time to time. If there is a downside to this Target, it is the keeping things stocked on the shelves. Also, they have a really bad habit of having something on the shelf, but not having it in stock. Especially sale items. Otherwise, this maybe the friendliest Target I have ever been in. You can always find someone to assist you, and they do know their stuff. The place is hardly extremely busy. They could do better by having the express checkout lanes open more often, or do a self checkout. I go to this Target on average, twice a month, if not more. It is a great value, great location and it IS Target!!! read more

SOOOO over this store.. In the past few months, It has gotten filthy! The parking lot is disgusting with fast food bags and other filth blowing around,,Good luck having a cart available when you walk in,,it is easier to grab one of 100 of them outside in the filthy lot. Today I went for a few items-it is closest to my house- and needed to use the restroom,,OMG 5 toilets were clogged to almost overflowing,, There was one clean one but the door was broken. I went out to tell the customer service area, but i dont know if the 18 year old girl understood. They restock during the day-blocking the aisles-many are impassable, and the clerks in the health and beauty depts are very loud ,,,i really dont want to hear about your partying escapades. Had a difficult return, chairs already assembled, thought I had the right paperwork from my online order but no. However, Arti and Dawn went OUT of their way to help me. They looked for product information on line, on the iPad and finally placed a call to get the appropriate information to make the return happen. Big big five star fan of the minute clinic...needed a completed health exam form for business and a TB test....super nice Family Nurse Practitioner did an actual exam, almost as thorough as my GP (minus the lab work). Do agree with others'negatives about remodel#99...expanded liquor section is a plus, but less other stuff is a negative--so spend a lot less,visit less often. read more

Avoid all Target Stores if your health means anything to you. I've shopped at several of them and they all have several things in common. A terrible return policy, rude managers and worst of all VERY SLIPPERY FLOORS. I had several near misses. Like a fool I blamed it on my shoes. Well I finally got hurt at a Target Store after losing my balance. Guess What? I'm stuck with a big doctor's bill because Target Stores wouldn't pay a dime of my medical expenses. I could not believe how beautiful an classy the remodeled store is, I was there a few weeks ago and was so frustrated at the mess it was, I swore I would never go back. But I was very surprised of the spaciousness and the wide aisles and beautiful presentation there. 4 stars because i'm still not sure how i feel about having restaurants in a department store. i mean, are you going to target JUST to eat dinner (annie), or are you one of those people who claims you were there shopping for diapers and greeting cards, but then just grabbed a slice of reheated frozen pizza and a soft pretzel on the way out. obviously i shop at several different targets--all over the country-- but i chose to review this particular one for a reason: clientele. target for me, is like a good tv show. i go there at a specific time on a specific day every week. and i don't miss it. ever. and obviously, i watch reruns, so that places me at target about 3-4x a week, sometimes i watch back to back episodes, so that puts me at target at 12:00 with my boyfriend and then at 2:00 with my best friend. the only problem with this target is the fact that they really don't carry any food i'd ever want to eat. (are you ever going to stock berry kix?) and, the main aisles are always crowded with people just hanging out and trying to wrangle their screaming kids away from the sticker aisle--yelling in languages i've never even heard. the check out lines always seem totally out of control to me and the dressing rooms have this overwhelming odor which i still can't place, but it's probably better to just do what i do: buy whatever you want knowing that you will probably return it all later, quite possibly for a profit. for example, on a sunday afternoon i went to target with jess and i just had to buy fold-up camping chairs. the only ones i could find were two nascar chairs in yellow/red with large numbers on them with a signature of someone who is famous but i don't care about. but they were 9.99. that's 10 bucks. anywhere else, we are talking at least an andrew jackson, plus tax. so, duh, i bought them. i got home, took them out in the kitchen, opened them up, sat down and thought, these are gross. so i went back to target later that night and returned them and i felt like i had just made 20 bucks. so i mostly come here to use the price scans at the ends of the aisle, and to buy all the dry goods i would buy at jewel, but at half the price. read more

Just got back from the health clinic at this Target. If you are sick and can not get in to see your regular doctor this is the place to go. The receptionist and nurse practitioner were great. Very efficient and knowledgeable. Much better than those other store clinics. Thanks ladies I feel better already. read more

For a large target I'm surprised they don't have a pizza hut or other hot food cafe, only a starbucks. They have a few premade salads and cold sandwiches and plenty of room to eat in starbucks, but no hot lunch. There are not a lot of lunch options around there either. I got a good cold salad from the prepared food case, but not quite the same. Great frozen section! Lots of frozen Jewish food such as kishka and knishes, which was a surprise. They somehow decided not to carry archer farms parmesan garlic potato chips, which is Target brand, so surprised not all stores sell them. Also they don't sell any cereal bars such as rice krispies treats, golden grahams smores bars, etc. They have regular granola bars but none made from traditional cereal. Also they don't seem to sell non-Greek yogurt, AKA "the regular kind". Otherwise it's a good store, maybe not the best selection, but better than the little city Targets. read more

This is solely based on the experience I had today. All I have to say is KIM, who was working the fitting rooms shouldn't be allowed to work with customers. I have never been talked to the way she spoke to me today. When I walked into the fitting room it was empty, there was no one working to assist me which has happened before so I didn't see anything wrong with just going into a room. As I was trying on my clothes KIM comes and bangs on my door asking how many items i had. I was in a rush and had quite a few items. She then told me only 6 items were allowed. Me, still undressed, told her to hold on while I got dressed so I could hand her some items. She felt the need to continue to bang on my door, then goes on her walkie asking for security. Me in shock, still undressed, cracked open the door and just handed her some clothes. I closed the door, embarrassed as there were other customers walking by. I heard her talking about me to other customers. Saying how I wouldn't open the door, accusing me of stealing, saying how security is on its way. I could not believe they allowed this woman to work with people. I have never been treated this way ANYWHERE I have gone. I asked to speak with her Manager LAUREN, whom was not available. So they had me speak with MIGUEL. Miguel was understanding and mentioned to me that KIM has had a few complaints about her. I am very understanding of rules when it comes to retail and loss prevention as I have worked retail many years in the past, but there is a way to speak to PAYING customers without being completely and utterly rude! I will be reaching out to corporate about KIM and the way I was treated. She should NOT be working with customers. If she is to continue working with Target, she should be in the back unpacking boxes where no one has to deal with her complete unprofessionalism and attitude problem. read more

The employees at this Target are really in the holiday spirit! It was 5:20 on Christmas Eve - a mere 40 minutes from closing. Instead of being disgruntled and annoyed, the employees seemed to be somewhat chipper. Amazing. What really stood out to me was that my mom asked one of the associates if they had any more of a certain plate set in the back. Even though the associate could have given the cop out answer of ,"No, sorry, this is all that we have", she called over her manager and told her that we were looking for the plates. In less than 10 minutes, the manager looked up the item and had someone bring one out from the back. She even put it in the cart and wished us Happy Holidays. I was impressed and very thankful. Also, while waiting in the enormous lines, one of the employees tipped us off by telling us that we could go to the jewelry counter to check out since we only had a few items. I like this target location, its closest to my house. However, I had to take my daughter to the clinic today and I was hesitant after reading the reviews. Her doctor office was closed today being the day after Christmas so I had no choice. Well, Morgan was so sweet and made my 4 year old's visit such a nice time! Morgan explained what she was going to do and that medicine would only make her feel better. My daughter enjoyed her visit to this clinic and I'd take her there again. The best part, you can go register online and hold your place in line so you don't have to wait for too long! read more

Seems like this target has the worst customer service. Went in to buy some things and the cashier had no clue how to change the price from cartwheel. So she calls Felicia!! Well Felicia comes with this nasty look on her face and right away looks at the item which I had 10 of this item, and she yells with this nasty attitude that she'll do one but no all! I said if I was buying these online I can purchase as many as I want and the price would be the one on cartwheel. She says well we in the store have the right to limit your purchases. She's telling me this with such a nasty look on her face. She upset me because the whole time she's trying to intimidate me as I was really trying to stay cool and not yell at her back. I then asked the cashier for her name, she yells out my name is Felicia and points at her tag. I then said I can totally read FELICIA!! She walks away mumbling to herself. I call the store and ask to speak to a manager and they put a leader on the phone. This leader sounded like she didn't want to hear it and tried making excuses! It's not ok that someone comes and you give them this attitude like you feel queen of the store. Remember you have a job because people shop here. If you don't like your job go do something else. It's not my fault other people gave you a bad day. I have had awful days and don't take it out on others. Honestly there are a lot of targets in my area. I have a choice of 3 others to go to. I don't have to waste my time with yours. I think you should train your employees a little more on customer service! read more

If this Target were any closer to my house, it would be sitting on my back porch! I buy a large chunk of my groceries there and, after I am done shopping, I might relax with a smoothie or popcorn. Dropping By 1 Star Just Because I'm Expecting, & They Don't Really Have Gender Neutral Clothing -_-

I am very disappointed at the rude and horrible service I received at your food service cafe/Starbucks! My nephew, 8 years old, was in line to buy something. The guy at the counter ignored him and went to the next customer. So I walked up and waited with him. He again ignored us, so I said we were in line. We gave our order and asked him how much it was. I gave him the money, he gave me the change, with no receipt and with NO cup to for the drink. He moved to the next customer. I had to ask him for my receipt and for a cup for the drink. He made us wait because he kept ignoring us so he could serve others. What is up with that behavior?! He was so rude. I really don't understand why he took my money for a drink, and didn't bother to give me my receipt and cup. I HAD TO ASK FOR IT! It's all on surveillance! He never greeted us or thanked us. He totally ignored us, even after I paid. I had to ask for what I purchased. He is a true jerk!! Please view it on the surveillance camera to see what he did! I was there on March 26, 2018 at 11:42am. I spend a lot of money at Target and I didn't deserve that treatment from that jerk!! This is the Chicago Peterson store. read more

Terrible experience at this Target last night and don't plan on going back anytime soon. But I went to stock up on some stuff for some weekend guests. First of all, the place was a mess and on July 9th, they've already started phasing out their summer stuff. Cross the bubble refill package for my 2 year old off the list. And the organization was as usual, awful. I searched high and low for a nightlight before asking an associate who told me that nightlights are in automotive (huh?) and sending me to aisle 61. Problem was that the nightlights were actually in aisle 58. (He walked me part way over but didn't stop to make sure I had what I needed.) Ten minutes wasted as I wandered around automotive. But the kicker was that after standing in line with a ton of stuff and dropping some serious money on household supplies, baby food, nightlights, etc. I get stopped by the security guard on my way out and he spends two minutes scrutinizing my receipt before letting me leave. Nice way to treat the exhausted, working mom who just spent way too much at your store. (He was also standing 10 feet from the checkout I'd just come from so I don't know what his issue was.) There are more and more internet options for buying these types of goods with free delivery and although Jewel is a little more expensive I've never had them stop me as if I was a thief on the way out of the store. I know that they're trying to keep costs down but I'll pay an extra few bucks any day not to be harassed on my way out of the store. Goodbye Target. And yes, I'm going to tell all my mommy friends who spend a LOT of money at your store. read more
