THANK THE LORD for a Target in SC. While its a smaller store it is still awesome to have. It's a bummer they couldn't make it a full scale store with food court area and all but glad they at least offer Starbucks inside. Store is always neat and tidy when I have gone in, however the Starbucks area and seating could use some help over there. I like that there is an entrance to/from the mall. That helps. So sad and disappointing. I've shopped at Target for years in Reno, and it was always fun to go in there. There was plenty of merchandise with quality selection. Upon first walking in, the cosmetics department, there were numerous empty places. This was aggravating. They didn't have common general things you would expect from the minor grocery store Target is expecting to be. No Tripe Sec The clothing selection was nauseating. One department that is always my favorite in Target type stores is the kitchen area. The merchandise in this section was downright depressing. The same can be said of the electronic department. Again, the expected products were missing, or under stocked. I will not be returning to this store. This store is poorly planned and executed. read more

I love Target but this is not a good location. There are no bathrooms or dressing rooms on the 2nd floor (even though most clothes are on the 2nd floor). This is a very large 2 story building and it's very inconvenient if you have mobility issues. If you have kids or a husband, they will have to walk all the way downstairs on the other side of the store to try on clothes and then walk all the way back up to get another size if they don't fit. They also have a Starbucks inside that is usually out of most items. Cashiers are nice. Go to the one in Watsonville or Cupertino instead. read more

5 Stars for the Pharmacy dept. (a CVS pharm BTW) not only were they exceptionally nice when I was trying to locate a med in stock I had called 7 pharmacies in the area and this one tracked it down for me at another branch without asking. Granted some pharms are single location businesses but I did not get this service from Safeway or Rite-Aid although Rite-Aid at least said to check Horsnyder's. 3 Stars for the main store, generally, the 5% off Target credit card and selection of items is the draw. I didn't care to add any credit cards to my life but it made shopping at Target more attractive. The self-checkout is a plus except they have limited it to 10 items or fewer. Things at this location are higher priced than other Targets. Many prices are higher than competitor's as well. You can save a lot by doing a bulk run to a location in San Jose. Frequently this location is out of stock on sale items (at least that which I buy). Pay attention to prices as things are not the bargain they were when Targets started appearing in the SF Bay Area. By the time they opened in Capitola the draw of a bargain was an illusion. Same goes for Costco compared to when they debuted as Price Club in the S.F.B.A.. read more

My issue was with Target.com. I placed and order online and my delivery date was changed from the initial delivery date. I was not going to be in town to receive the order with the new date. I contacted Target .com via phone and spoke to Jeanette, a supervisor, she reviewed my order and understood my frustration and immediately stated she will call me back on a certain date to see if I received my order , if not she stated we will move forward with an alternative. Been here twice.... This target seems to be either severely understaffed or simply mismanaged. Clothes section is always a mess and they frequently don't have size options out. It is disappointing when you're used to regular sized Targets and lets face it, almost all of us are used to Super Targets. I think Capitola made a mistake. If you're going to do it, do it right. We live in times where the art of customer service is dead... except if you have exceptional employees like Valentino, who went beyond the extra mile to look for a $2.99 product, that your store did not have a stock. Valentino could have done what most employees do anymore when you asked them if there's any more in stock, they say "all we have is out" without even checking. I used to be in the retail business and we were always taught to at least say "we'll look to make sure..." it always made the customer feel better. Nowadays most employees don't even bother to do that. Valentino was an exception he was very gracious and spent the time to look in stock back room and reassured me that this product will be back on the shelves tomorrow. I told him that with that kind of customer service and people skills he's going to go a long way, he'll be running the show one of these days. I shopped today at Target to look for binoculars and they had zero inventory available. They advertise that they carry binoculars and then they didn't have even one pair available. The store was messy with a lot of item of clothing on the floor in one of their departments. read more

--I agree with another reviewer that the lighting is awful--way too bright and flat. --Last time I was there I couldn't find anyone to help me. --I finally found the item I wanted, but it was almost $19 instead of the $14.49 I usually pay. I asked if it was a mistake, but they said no. When I went to a movie in Watsonville, I stopped by the Target there. Sure enough, my item was $14.49, as usual. --I went to Home Depot instead of Target for another item (a dish drainer) because the price was 2/3's that at Target. --Also, a very dangerous crossing for those who park on the ground floor of the parking structure. It's nice to have a Target in Capitola but the stock levels are lower in some areas due to the smaller size.. I love to buy womens socks and underwear from Target stores but their sock selection is so small, there's only a single small rack for socks and not only is there a tiny selection but every time I've looked at the socks there, they're out of stock of more than 50% of the socks. Management please get a clue, who's doing your ordering? Please consider devoting a larger bit of space to womens socks. I don't really bother going in there any more, I just drive to the Watsonville store, I only go to this one if I need something quick. read more

I have been driving to Watsonville for years to shop at Target and was very excited when I heard this store was opening up. So far I have not been disappointed. The employees (most) are very nice and if they do not know an answer they've always asked until they get one. I have found the blonde girl in Electronics to be very knowledgeable too. She is always there and I have started going to her for everything! (Poor girl) I have read many of the reviews here and most of the negatives are from July when the store first opened. I think that is the key to why so many people are giving bad reviews. Maybe the employees were not expecting the rush of people or maybe they just needed to get warmed up. Whatever the reason they are doing a good job now and I would definitely recommend giving this store a chance. read more

I have a love hate relationship with Target. I love the fact the they price match Walmart (every penny counts with a 5 month old). But the selection is slim. The women's section is super small!!! I can never find anything there for myself. But I get almost everything there for my daughter. I have almost always had good customer service except for the last time I was there... This new Target is a fresh addition the Capitola Mall. They have a Starbucks inside which is convenient. What I purchase here is K-Cups for my coffee machine. They have a decent selection at good prices. I haven't scoped the whole store but it most likely has what every other Target has inside of it. read more

After being spoiled by the Targets in the South Bay, the Capitola location falls short. It is smaller (despite being 2 stories) and is pretty limited on selections. I went to the shoe department for my son and they hardly had a selection or anything in his size. Pretty much the same in most departments. This is the closest Target to me since relocating to SC county so I'll just have to make do. read more

This review is for the store manager Ametrius (hope I spelled it correctly). Today I ran into two disgusting people while shopping with my infant. Minding my own business early morning on the phone with my husband deciding what gift to buy our daughter since she will be having some medical procedure next week. As I was leaving the aisle, mind you with a giant post in the end of it, with my snap n go stroller some "grandmother" with a baby and stroller decides instead of waiting for me to leave instead run right into me with no regards. I quickly jumped out of the way and she was inches from running over my foot (I'm wearing Sandals). So I said "excuse me you almost ran over my foot" and she doesn't stop just continues rushing by and mockingly says "oh sorry." As I walk away with disbelief how rude and entitled someone could be I rolled my eyes and go towards the diapers. As I'm moving towards the diapers I pass by this trashy unhinged women that gets in my face and says "don't talk to my F'n (she said the actual word) mom like that." Angered at first of her tone of voice firmly said "I have every right to say something she ran me over with no regard she is rude and should be respectful of others." But I kept strolling away from her. Then the lady starting flying off the handle cussing me out yelling and calling me a B word and acting so trashy and low IQ 20 ft away from me. Talking trash that she is going to fight me. At this point I couldn't handle it I am only human. So I did cuss back at her and yelled but I'm strolling further away as this is all happening not standing there. Not my proudest moment but her demeanor and disgusting trash behavior hit a nerve. Then the grandmother for some reason screams "security!" Even though I'M the one that needs it. But who knows maybe she's calling it for her psycho daughter. I'm 10 aisles away and this psycho lunges at me where I am all alone and cussing wanting to fist fight in the baby aisle!! I told her to get he F away from me your ghetto. I walked away and I see Ametrios my knight and shiny armor. Him and his AP calmed me down and asked what happened. They said they heard some of it. They were looking for them to make them leave the store but couldn't find them. I was so upset I started crying. And he was so sweet calmed me down. I told him i just want to leave the store I'm too upset to shop. He offered to follow me out because he wanted to make sure I'm safe. He helped me to check out line was so professional and a gentlemen. Made me feel so much better. He has such a kind and positive attitude. Turned a really stupid situation around and made me feel better. He even walked me to my car and watched to make sure no one was following me. I hope management congratulates him for his fine behavior of handling an awful moment that disrupted so many shoppers as well as mine. It was also a huge safety concern and could have ended badly. Ametrious is a really good talker and that is KEY in a situation like this. To make sure things don't escalate he did a fantastic job. I can't thank him enough. He's the only reason why I would come back shopping here. read more

My only dislike of the Capitola store is that the childrens clothes are on the second floor and the fitting rooms are on the first floor?!?!?!? Very inconvenient when you have to take these clothes down stairs to have your children try them on. Weird layout. Otherwise, I'm super excited to start my kids with school shopping. I said, okay, just don't sit my food where the dog was sitting. Of course customers that arrive just after me will have no idea that their food or other items are sitting where a dog just placed it's butt!
