This Target is an interesting contrast to the empty building formally known as Sears. The place was easy to access and to get back on the road, once we finished our business. We were here to buy clothes for a granddaughter, owing to a forgotten suitcase back in Danville. While I was waiting for Gayle and the girls to pick out those items, I wandered over to buy a new razor blade set and specialty mouthwash. After that, I waited patiently and uninspired at Starbucks. Surprisingly, Target didn't carry a number of things that Gayle was looking for, but she managed to make due. Previously, I said how much I love this place however, last night I went in your end oh my God what a mess. I was mostly in the clothing area and it was so messy things were on the ground. It's just sort of shocking when you travel outside of Santa Cruz County and encounter what a real Target can be: A place with options and a diversity of products A place where they have paper bags instead of just putting a giant pile of items in your cart to roll around loosely. A place where somebody will help you find things and direct you to things. This has been the store I have been going to for my snack needs for quite awhile now. Potato chips, candy, etc. also cereal and their prices on Stouffers small meals are less expensive than any other store I know of. BUT! For quite some time now I have noticed the bags of potato chips I have been purchasing there, they must be handled fairly roughly as I have been getting smashed potato chips. Sometimes over half the bag is very badly broken up into tiny pieces of potato chip! these snacks are becoming more and more expensive and they should be in good condition for customers when we buy them! DO BETTER or I am taking my snack buying some place else! read more

This is by far the worst Target I have ever been inside. It's small with minimal selection, and the items are poorly laid out--like the housewares section is upstairs across from baby clothing, but cleaning items are downstairs. Good luck finding batteries! No staff member could point me in the right direction. It also has sad fluorescent lighting, so the vibe is off. The worst part is all the missing items; there are always holes on the shelf in the personal care aisles in particular. The best part is this one checker who is super cute and always pays people unique compliments. Also, Target is just a trash company, let's be honest. They caved to pressure to pull their LBGTQ pride items from shelves in 2024, and now they've scrapped their employee diversity and inclusion program. Edit: Ps. This is a review towards Target to pull themselves together here. It's clear this place is understaffed and it's def not employee's fault here for anything or that stuff is out of stock. Message to Target corporate: do better. Probably the most disappointing Targets and Target experience I've ever had. And I'm def one of those people that can get lost wandering around a Target forever and come out with stuff I def didn't need. Not at this store. First, the shelves of pretty much everything you want to buy are empty. They clearly don't care about stocking up on the environmentally friendly products (e.g., toilet paper which was out - though there was plenty of Charmin and other Procter & Gamble stuff). Although the one thing I wanted from P&G was a Tide pen, and they were all out of that too. The birthday decorations were mostly gone too. And choice was really not there either for stuff they did have (e.g., literally only one honey mustard brand). Also price was really high too for a lot of items (and I know everything's expensive now, but for example wine is cheaper at Whole Foods than at this Target - that's just bonkers - usually nothing is more expensive than Whole Foods lol). I also did not care for the way this Target was organized. It was off from most other Targets I've been to and was just difficult to find stuff. A lot of the aisles also don't have signs on top of them that say what's in the aisles. So you just gotta wander down every aisle in case it's there. The aisles are also pretty small, while their shopping carts are ridiculously large. So it's super annoying to get around people or have to people with carts in the aisles going opposite directions. If you ever do have to go to this Target, I def recommend you only need a few things in a basket as it's the worst trying to roll around their boat of a shopping cart around. The food section was def the saddest of all, with barely any produce or meat products in stock. Also, no one is really around to help you find anything. You def have to go to the front of the store to get help. Also when you check out, you have to bag everything yourself, so def annoying if you got a lot of stuff. This is also the kind of Target that puts locks on the wheels of their shopping carts. Which is super annoying, especially since there's a perfectly good parking lot right next to the Target where you don't have to park in the crowded garage, but the shopping carts won't roll over there. So if you're getting a lot of stuff, be sure to park in the garage so you can roll your shopping cart over to your car. Overall, one of the most unorganized, out of stock, and annoying Targets I've ever been to. I'd recommend just ordering most of this stuff online if you're in Santa Cruz (from Target or elsewhere), which is what I'll likely be doing from now on. You're more likely to get what you came for that way. And if I need any produce/food, I'll just go to a different grocery store. read more

I have been shopping at this target since it has opened and have always received wonderful customer service from the staff . Tonight however was a different story . I was shopping for soup for my sick family and grabbed some cans . I got to the register and notice that two cans that had come out of the drop racks were not what they were suppose to be . I asked Abraham if he could cancel the order and explained why . He said I was to busy on my phone and not paying attention. My first thought was wow this guy is rude. I told him i would by right back and was going to leave my stuff at the register . He said I couldn't do that because it would be a shop back . So I grabbed my basket of cans and headed back to isle. on my way back to the register I told him that his comment was rude and that I may have been on my phone but there were lots of cans in the incorrect bins . And he was like oh yeah oh yeah . And then the price was ringing up incorrectly and I had to ask him for assistance . He came over and I explained the price and he said let me "whip out my pistol" (price scanner is what it was) . I found that to be threatening and expressed to him that he should not say that. And he continued to talk about his pistol and was so condescending. I felt extremely uncomfortable and will no longer be shopping at this target . read more

I came in looking for a usb-a lighting connector that was compatible with my portable battery pack, because the chord that came with my iphone did not work and I couldn't understand why until I did some research online, before I made my purchase. The employee was kind enough to show me different lightning connectors and since I already own an anker portable battery pack, it made sense to get just get an anker lightning connector, plus it was on sale and I got a great deal in the process - thank you! I recommend this location, no problems... I was in and out of the store in under 30 minutes despite the sales associate dealing with other customers asking him questions. read more

I literally just walked out of this store at 3:00 pm on Monday January 15, 2024 after dropping the items I was going to buy on the floor while waiting in the self-check out line. This is the absolute worst retail store I've ever been in and definitely the worst Target I've ever seen; maybe, just maybe, it's on par with the Target in San Leandro, CA. There was a long line waiting for self check-out that seemed to be moving at a snail's pace. Ok. I have patience and understand they only have maybe four self check out cash registers. The line was long and was winding through the women's clothing department. I got in the line and as we moved forward there was only two customers ahead of me. The first customer moved up and the second customer diverted off to a cash register with a human. As I'm walking forward another customer just cuts right in front of me and parks herself in at the front of the line. Then a pack of young people (like six) of them tear in with their shopping cart and cut me off. They divide up their shopping cart so that each person doesn't have more than the requisite number of items. In the meantime, some bozo guy that works at Target is flirting with some other customers right at the point where customers enter the area to ring themselves up. And then some other lady from who knows where walks up and parks herself right up front in the line. What a bunch of loser customers and loser store personnel. Keeping a line of people straight ain't that difficult. We all should have learned how to do that in kindergarten. I can't figure out if I'm more disgusted by the workers or the customers. They really need a lane supervisor that can keep things moving properly. If that's the role of the bozo in the self check-out area he failed miserably. Target used to be a really nice chain store with nice quality affordable items; leaps and bounds ahead of Walmart. Now it's a joke. Just disgusting people acting like idiots! read more

The parking lot had plenty of parking, but there were no carts in the store, and the entire front of store was chaotic. Looooong lines and difficult to maneuver through them. I guess there's a system (fewer lines with multiple checkers for each line?) but my arrival was disconcerting. I needed a few items for new college student drop-off, so was determined to get what I needed. I needed face masks and the one display stand was picked over with hardly anything left (plus difficult to access since it was near the front). I also wanted string lights, so the Halloween decor section was helpful. I found lights, but soon realized that this smaller Target didn't have space for an extensive seasonal decoration section. The store size is no one's fault. Overall- I found what I needed, but I'd try to avoid coming back, if possible. read more

Pretty cool Target. Has elevators and a cart elevator too! The workers on the floor weren't the easiest to talk to. Didn't even want to ask for help in what I was looking for. Found it on my own. Definitely different since there is two floors. A large mix up. Just needed a charger. Mine stopped, but you know you can never go to Target and only get one thing. Had fun checking it out. Crazy how different is from the ones in town. It's organization and set up didn't seem right at all. The way the floors were split up was different. Had fun with the cart elevators! Ended up getting a charger cord, the new, best pretzel pop tarts, , a gym outfit, Chapstick and protein bars. It is still very much like the Targets in my town, but a crazy mix up with the split floors. Luckily, at check out, that worker was very nice and easy to talk to. Much better! This target is on the smaller end and usually never stocked. Although I love target, it's always frustrating when I'm trying to restock my everyday makeup products or pick up a new outfit. I guess this target saves me $$$ because they never have the good/cute stuff in stock. I came in today to make a return and it was very quick and easy. Less than a mile from home. I frequent this place so much that I hate it. I don't like that there are 2 floors and I think their produce section (Targets in general) is overpriced. I guess I'm so used to paying minimal at the grocery stores I go to in San Jose *Asian markets* Milk is not cheap here - Trader Joe's is cheaper! Before I moved, I would go to Target maybe once a week and now, I go 2 or 3 times a week. I had no idea how much my life and how much my finances would change once I moved. It's a big ass adjustment. And for quite some time now I notice the bags have been handled roughly and even as much as half of the chips are all smashed to smithereens! How come? Went this morning to stock up on boring household goods and exchange some diapers my husband accidentally bought in the wrong size. One employee working the returns /online order pickup area (and also responsible for stocking shelves, it seemed) while a line of people waited patiently and three other employees milled about behind the counters. The woman who helped me do the exchange was pleasant, when it was finally my turn. I filled up my cart and tried to keep my toddler entertained. Found the diapers in the correct size. This store has an escalator which my kiddo is really intrigued by, so I took her out of the cart and we rode up to the second floor and then back down. She was stoked. The store wasn't busy, we weren't in anyone's way, it was great. Finish shopping and head to the checkout area. A few people in line for the regular registers so we go to an available self-checkout. Everything is fine, I scan all the items. My kid is losing her patience and of course there are three million kinds of candy stocked right at the self-checkout, so she's starting to ask for candy and, I realize, stand up in the cart because I forgot to buckle her back in after the escalator. I'm trying to finish paying so we can be done. A fifty-something woman employee walks over (to my kid) and says "Don't stand up in there, if you fall down and crack your head open it's going to be a lot of paperwork for me" in the most passive-aggressive way. Like, not a cute funny way. She obviously meant the comment for me, like "Hey lady, what a lousy mom you are! And what a brat your kid is!" Then the middle-aged lady using the self-checkout next to me starts smiling at her comment, and I'm just standing there, pissed, struggling and mumbling under my mask (thankfully I was wearing one, because the words coming out of my mouth were not polite). It would have been one thing for the employee to say "Hey, looks like you forgot to buckle your kiddo!" TO ME. But to make a weird rude comment directly to my child that was intended for me was unnecessary. I dunno. In the moment I was angry, at the employee and at the customer next to me laughing to herself at the comment. Maybe they don't have children? Maybe they don't remember how hard parenting can be? Maybe they are bitter because they still aren't grandparents? The whole thing could've just been handled so much differently, so much more positively. Don't mom shame me because my kid is hungry (because we need to be done at your store before it gets busy and it takes EVEN LONGER to purchase things), whining (because she's surrounded by candy, thanks!) and tired of shopping. You could've helped, you could've been supportive. You could've seen a mom struggling and offered a hand. Instead your were judgy and mean. They say it takes a village, but more and more I'm finding that the village has been overrun by idiots. I've worked so many customer service jobs. There are so many places in town with polite employees who will try to help you if they see you are struggling. So yeah, Target. One bad interaction, but bad enough that I think I'm done with you. I went to target this morning and I currently have hurt both ankles and was in one of the motorized carts. I had a difficult time moving around the store as they had a lot of restocking to do. I came in at 8:45am on Monday. Most employees were very considerate and helpful. Most aisles were blocked and I couldn't go down them due to restocking. After the 4th block aisle I gave a sigh and said man I can't get into any of these aisles. This employee angrily said to me "oh you want me to move" with such attitude like she was pretty far from me and she just rolled her eyes. I was appalled. I love the Target in Watsonville! This target is always hit or miss. When they're stocked up, they have a really good selection and the layout is pretty good despite it being split between two floors. It's actually a pretty big store. However, there's been numerous times I've come into this store and they're out of sooo many things. It's very inconvenient to drive all the way over to this Target from Santa Cruz proper and see aisles and aisles of empty shelves, and since this is a consistent issue it seems obvious they need to order larger quantities of product. read more

The employees are really nice and helpful. The issue is this place seems to hardly get restocked. I've gone to the appliances/glassware sections, grabbed something, changed my mind and put it back. Then I've gone there a week or so later and everything is literally where I left it and there are no restocks on some of the items they sold out. They definitely restock groceries, soap, medication and stuff on that left area from the first floor entrance or right area if you're coming in from the mall. read more
