I come here at least once a week whenever I'm bored or actually need to get something, it's always open late at night. You can just come here and get something you see on their website, their website even tells you which aisle your item is in. This makes life so much easier. The store is huge and neat with an optical clinic inside. I used to go to the optical clinic for my annual eye exam and it was like $70-$90 I forgot. With how much time I spend in Oakland and Alameda, it's pretty surprising that today was my first time. And I love Target! With me, Target always wins... meaning I only go there to buy one thing, but I come out with 10 other things, sometimes forgetting the 1 thing I went there for. Yeah, story of my life. This Target is big in comparison to other locations and it is also much cleaner. It almost reminds me of the one in San Mateo because they sell a lot more brands and items than the other Targets that I frequent. The associates are friendly, bathrooms are clean, items are organized, aisles are wide, and I also found that there are a lot more clearance/sale items here (score!!) and they are actually products that I would buy. Parking is just okay, but I definitely like this location better than the one in Emeryville. The one in Emeryville is just way too busy. read more

Target - A Starbucks that got my drink right!! - Department Stores Near Me - Alameda, California

I recently saw online that a game I wanted was priced at 29.99. As every other human being would assume, the price online would be the same in store. I decided to call in to make sure they had the game. They did but they sold it at 39.99. I ended up ordering it online for the 29.99 price to pick up at this store and everything was going smoothly. Then when I got into the store to pick up my game, mind you I've never picked up an online order. I assumed I was supposed to go to the electronics department to pick up my game. A lady asked if I needed any help and I showed her my email receipt for the pick up. She then told me that this store does not sell it for that price. I thought that was weird because when I bought it online, it clearly stated to pick up at this location. She then had to ask another lady, maybe a supervisor. This lady was super rude. She made it seem like I did something wrong. I'm not the type of person to say the customer is always right, but when I have don't nothing to offend you and you still treat me like I am stupid, that's just terrible customer service. She told me, "We don't handle pick ups. Any pick ups you would need to go customer service," with a rude tone. I apologized and she said nothing. She just turned away. So then I make my way to the customer service and I tell her that I am picking up a game. This lady was also very rude. I had ordered the game 10 mins before picking it up. She told me that it takes 15 minutes for the order to process and an hour for them to get the game ready for pick up. How is that possible that it takes an hour for the game to pick up when all you have to do is get the game from the back and let it register in your system. Before I could say anything she said," it will take about an hour for you to get your game. We can refund your money if you want." Why would I want a refund? I just wanted my game. I told her I would wait. After the exchanging of words I decided to step out and have lunch at the habit, while I wait. As soon as I get to the Habit. I get a notification that my game is ready. 5 minutes hadn't even gone by and my game was ready. Why did she tell me it would take an hour and have an attitude about it? Honestly, Target has never really rubbed me the wrong way until this encounter. Overall, some of your staff members need to be retrained in customer service. read more

I went in tonight and ask a guy where the rubbing alcohol is that he pointed pointed with his finger and said the back of the store is where the paper towels and toilet paper was at which I walked back there and it was not there so I asked another guy where it was and he said "I don't know"!! and walked off so then I asked another person where it was and they said up towards the front of the store where the registers were located. Well, I go down to Alameda twice a year for training, so I was dreading my last trip, because I needed supplies - and a trip to Target in Emeryville was in the cards. To my surprise, I discovered that Target had opened in Alameda. I will say that the only reason I can't give this store five stars is that it is extremely difficult to get into the parking lot. I was in a large truck, and it was a byzantine route at best to navigate into the parking lot. The lot itself is fine - I could park with no issues, but there were more twists and turns than a roller-coaster to get to this store. It's pretty typical of new Targets - it is a "P-Fresh" store with the grocery area. Only problem I had in the store is that whoever merchandises the k-cups in the grocery has a cranial-rectal inversion in that you could not get any of the packages out without removing the shelf above it, as the shelves were tightly packed. One of the managers had to come over and assist me with removing the packages I wanted - and she agreed that someone wasn't thinking. The Target was one of the cleanest I have been in - much cleaner than our stores in Reno. read more

Always a place to get in and out, especially during the day, during the week. On the weekend it is a busy place to be so get there early or go later on the evening if you don't want to wait in long lines. They usually have good sales going on and their fresh groceries are are literally fresh. read more

So far, I like this Target. It's amidst a bunch of new construction, so I just wonder if the area will turn into a traffic clusterpoo when everything is built and open for business, but for now, I will enjoy the construction and slight isolation of this Target. I had a weird issue with a refund where I could not get the monies back and it was not my fault, but also not entirely the store's fault either. I talked to a manager on the phone and at first, she said she couldn't do anything, but when I pushed a bit, she told me to come into the store. When I did, I met with a different manager who was SUPER nice and understanding. She helped resolve the problem with almost no trouble, and I got my refund monies. Yay! read more

Not quite sure what's going on...maybe it's the pandemic/Covid time that's causing empty shelves, but....ALL THE TIME?!?!? I end up at target multiple times a week, maybe twice at most and everytime I look up something on the app to see if it's in store (which says it is), I come here and to my surprise, the things I look for that say in stock, are in fact not in stock. Employees usually are just standing around, things are a mess, the self checkout is wrapped around crazy long with always maybe 4 actual checkout stands with cashiers. This is my same review from the ORIGINAL TARGET yelp location. Today is the grand opening of this new Target store. Haha I'm sitting here in the parking lot waiting for the doors to open so I can run inside and be one of the first to take a gander. As I've mention before Target is one of my favorite stores. I come to Alameda a lot especially around South Shore Center. Now that this new Target is open I don't need to drive to Hayward or San Leandro when I need supplies. I'll just shop here from now on. So I purchased two movies and a bag of cashews. I walked up to the register and one of the supervisors told me to pay at the concession because the lady in front of me had a cart full of grocery. Upon paying for my items I walked away but went returned back because I didn't a get a receipt. They try to print out my receipt but couldn't and kept insisting that I was good because it was paid for. I told them "what if for any reason I decided to return the items I won't be able to because I don't have a receipt" they looked at each other and then look at me and said that's a good question lol The supervisor noticed that it was taking a while to get my receipt and they had me waiting quite a while she offered me the VIP treatment which was soda, water, popcorn or a jamba juice smoothie. I settled for the smoothie. So I was told to go to customer service. The explained my situation and they still weren't able to print my receipt. I had to return the items and repurchase them. When they scanned the items the only purchase that showed that I made was the bag of cashews meaning that the two movies were never charged which meant that I couldn't walked out with two free movies if I didn't go back requesting for a copy of my receipt. If only I had a similar problem in the past I would've realize what was going on I would've just walked out of the store with two free movies lol For the record it was Hangover 3 & The Avengers. Everything is brand new! Still has that new drywall smell. All items are merchandised well, clean floors, friendly greeters, helpful people, lots of parking, and a very convenient location But why oh why did it take 11 minutes to check if they carried one item while calling? I wish they had a better system of inventory. I got shuffled from section to section before I was told they didn't carry it. Very dissatisfied with the customer service over the phone. Went shopping for a swimsuit late in the season and everything had been moved to the clearance rack. I found a pair of bottoms that I wanted but they had no price tag. I took them to the register and was told that they were discontinued but not discounted. Asked why they were then on the discount rack, I was told that they will eventually be marked down, but they are not sure when, but I was welcome to check back. The cashier was rude. i used to love this specific target. however last night changed all of that. as soon as i walked in last night, myself and my little sister was targeted. we were sitting on the automatic carts (i have a bad knee) & (she has a bad ankle). the security (mexican guy) came and asked what we were doing and if the carts was for us, and if we were hurt. UPDATE 12.22.19 - I asked someone in electronics if they carried a specific accessory for a gaming system. He told me that location never received any of those accessories and they don't sell them. I go online to check what other Targets might have them (as it was advertised in the Christmas catalog). Not only did Alameda have them, but they were the ONLY Target in the area that did. You know, instead of standing there and having curse-ridden conversations with coworkers, maybe you could actually educate yourself about what the company you work for actually sells. MANAGEMENT!!!! Hello!!!! Do your damn job CHECK ALL NON FOOD MERCHANDISE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE! I just bought a boxed hair color that is obviously used. Parking is ok, the store is clean. They had one box of the pull ups I needed for my 3 year old, which is more than the Target near me had. I came out here while waiting to pick somebody up from the airport. I do agree with checking the receipt, others have mentioned mistakes caught at checkout. I was charged for two hats, I only bought one, and one kid's dress, I bought two. I didn't notice it until the next day when I was looking at the receipt. Good news is it was $10 in my favor, but if the dress didn't fit I couldn't return it because it wasn't on the receipt. The Starbucks people were fairly rude, that also is consistent with previous reviews. So check your receipt and skip the Starbucks. read more

Finally, Alameda's very own Target - don't need to leave the island for that so-called "Target run!" It's the main anchor to the now poppin' and vibrant Alameda Landing, with so many eateries, shops, and service-oriented businesses catering to the West End. The store is pretty big, compared to the other Target locations, which boasts 139,000 square feet, a Starbucks & Pizza Hut express, in addition, to an optical & a full-service grocery department! Examples include clothing and household goods, produce, packaged meat, and pre-packaged baked goods. Ample parking upfront, and I like that it's within walking distance to the other places in the immediate shopping area. You could grab a bite, withdraw some cash, get a haircut, and even get your pet groomed! The service at this store, in particular, is exemplary - associates make sure customers are being assisted & helped, in addition, to a smooth checkout line & well-stocked products (neat displays, also!) - aisles are easy to navigate, and the store/space is well-lit and just a vibrant place to shop! It's also one of the family-oriented Targets in the East Bay, safe and secure - it just gets really busy on the weekends - overall, it's one of the better Targets in the area. Selection-wise, I must say - I've seen a lot of goodies on those clearance racks! Highly recommended to do your Target runs if you're ever in Alameda! read more

I like this Target because it's more spacious than Emeryville, there's a huge parking lot, and it's in a safe neighborhood. The store is mostly clean and well-organized, but one thing I noticed is that the One Spot here is consistently scattered/messy. All the items are strewn across different bins so you have to dig around to find different things (i.e. compared to Albany Target, where everything is organized in the correct bin and you can find anything upon a single glance). Not a huge issue tho, just adds a little more work when browsing. I also noticed that now there is sometimes a security guard checking receipts when you leave the store. Might be a sign that there's been more thefts here? Not sure tho. read more

The store is cleaner than most targets. Everything is where you need it to be. They are courteous and friendly and the restrooms are clean.

Was fine until I went to checkout line today at 3:05pm on 10/29/2016. The lady working the self check out line said just so you know sir it's 15 items or less. I said I have only 15 items. I know how to read. She gave me an attitude like I was holding up the line. I scanned them quickly and swiped the red card to check out fast. I know how to work the machine on self check out and was fast. No error, no nothing. I'll never shop at this target anymore. read more

I shop at target atleast 2 times a week or more. The customer service in this place is pretty bad. Starbucks: they almost always have an additude like they are bothered to help you. One girl particular with colored braids she puts my first drink on the table doesnt say anything she just continues to have her conversation with her co worker, then she puts the second drink and as i grab it she says your welcome to me with an adittude. First you didnt call out the drinks and you didnt have any type of rapor with me and you expect me to say thank you?? Wow. Customer service: (out of all places the worst) always they ALWAYS have an adittude. I return a few things here or there so i know the process so i was prepared with my items. This young girl was not nice she didnt greet and barely made contact. Basically treated me like an idiot. She said im gonna check and see if we sell these here???? Really i only shop here only. Then when i swiped my card she just said nope not the one. We tried every single card which was 4 and none of them worked i dont use cash ever never!!!!. So when i asked her what else she could do she basically said nothing . Then for store credit she said it had to be under 20$ well thats new. She definetly didnt know what she was doing. Target is my favorite chain. Nationwide as a Target customer I've come to expect the best service of any major retailer and this location keeps being a let down. We've done the order ahead thing 3-4 times and each time there was something different wrong. However there was one consistent failure at each experience- the employee at the desk has completey not greeted me or my girl. They literally just stand there after they're done serving another customer and wait for you to walk up and start talking to them. But what's really odd is this rude behavior has occurred from 3-4 different employees as there has been a different person there (at the guest services counter) each time. The overall cleanliness of the store is also a failure. Like the bathroom is always gross and they don't keep the store tidy. It's hard to explain- like misplaced items, dirty floors, etc. Now that I'm remembering- the Starbucks people are always kind of attitude-y also. I remember the days when going to Target in Emeryville were a nightmare. Messy parking, messy store. Yeah... It was a dark time that I don't like thinking about. But the sunshine and happy days have found their way to the Target in Alameda. It's an absolute dream. The employees here actually put in work to keep the store in tip top shape. The times that I needed help, the employees were knowledgable and helpful. On the other side of things, though, is that I like this location so much that I'm here too often. The convenient location and cleanliness make for a bad habit of coming here to pass some time... Then I end up spending money I should be saving... Every. Single. Time. You know how you need 1 or 2 things? Yeah right. All of a sudden, your eyebrows will raise at your $100+ total at check-out. It's happened to me, and I've witnessed it happen to other people. On several occasions I've been in line at the Target Starbucks to order a drink. One three occasions 2/17/17 at 3:15pm, Target employees were ahead of me ordering. They chatted with the Starbucks workers with no consideration for the others waiting to order. They also ordered extra items we normally would be charged extra for but the are not. One employee asked for extra fruit in his tea. To my astonishment, the Starbucks girl put half a cup of strawberries and he asked for more. One cup of fruit later, he was satisfied and told her "Good job" This isn't right and not to be charged extra! I bet Starbucks would not tolerate this behavior/practice and Target should also be concerned!! read more
