We've been going here off and on for a few years. The last couple of meals have been excellent. They are updating their menu. We asked for enchiladas and even though they aren't currently on the menu, they made them for us. Worth a short drive from Eureka to Humboldt Hill.

Super Steak Ranchero burrito

Easter Sunday and I worked up an appetite working around the house. Wasn't expecting to find many options and I was right. Struck out twice. I turned on Humboldt Hill to turn around and remembered the taqueria right off the exit. Amazingly they were open. First thing I noticed is how clean the restaurant is. A brief look at the menu and I decided on the Super Steak Ranchero burrito. While I waited, I was generously offered some chips and salsa from who I assume is the owner. Very nice person. Got my burrito and went home. The burrito came with chips and 3 small containers (2 different salsas and one with pickled carrots and onion). The burrito was as tasty as it was fresh and I loved the heat from the red salsa. Will definitely go back.

Chili verde

Absolutely the best chili verde ever! Street tacos are on point too! Fast friendly service with clean restrooms and a chill vibe

I've been trying to look in the windows as we've driven by all week and from what I've been able to tell everyone who wasn't eating has been masked, so I decided it was time to stop in for a bite! The food was okay. Like, nothing really to write about, just okay. I'm sure we'll occasionally stop in on a whim because it's so close to home, but I would not go out of my way for it.

This Chile was very good

Salad has chicken peas and pickled beets.  Good solid side salad. The coleslaw is lacking flavor.  The fries are semi think cut but perfectly seasoned... Great Job. The clam cutlet is pounded clam then breaded and pan fried.  It's heavy on the breading but its also heavy on the flavor... thumbs up.    The fish and chips are pretty good too.  Taste like beer battered .. flaky and moist white fish (cod) I think inside a golden brown shell. Restroom: Single men's with urinal and toilet.  Clean, well lit and roomy.  Sink area is clean but there were some paper on the floor near garbage can. Will I come back? Yes, I would like to check out calamari

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable... fairly broad menu with something for everyone. We were just passing through town and looking for a solid lunch. I had what they called the stuffed avocado... which was really good, but I wouldn't really consider it a stuffed avocado - more of a salad with sliced avocado. My friend had clam strips - also really good (I sampled a few purely for review purposes). I also had some soup... spicy shrimp bisque. It was good! I think I'm going to try the clam chowder next time I get a chance... I originally planned to get clam chowder, but the bisque sounded interesting so I went with that instead. One downer... and I'm not sure if it was a "one off" type thing or what... but a portion of the crust on the bread I got with my soup was 'crunchy'. I'm not sure why? It didn't seem to be stale, but something was off... not sure if it sat in a warmer too long or what, but it didn't seem right. Kudos overall... good experience.
