I came here for a girls night on a Friday night, so obviously it was packed. I was able to reserve a table a couple of hours beforehand so that we can avoid a long wait. We ordered a pitcher of house strawberry margaritas, pollo con queso, a burrito, al pastor taco combo, and elote ribs. The margs were good and you can't taste the tequila. The food was ok, not the best I've had and it wasn't hot as if it was fresh. They also have a salsa bar, but we found a hair in the guac. The service was ok, and we couldn't hear her over the loudness of the restaurant so it was difficult to hear or understand. We all paid around $25-$30, but I think I can get better food elsewhere.

Came here as a group dinner and was profoundly disappointed. Took some snap shots of what my co workers and I ordered. I got the street tacos, each taco at $4.50. Chicken was bland and portions were tiny. Another friend ordered a chicken taco. They forgot his order and when we asked for it, sure it came out as a quick turn around but it literally looked like the chef took a tortilla, threw some chicken, sprinkled little cheese and microwaved it. Did not come with any sides and needless to say, he did not finish it. The restaurant was packed and staff were busy around 6-7pm on a Thursday, so I wonder if this experience of ours was a one off situation. Personally I didn't think the food was worth the price and some dishes, the portion was overly generous.

We LOVE this place, so much that we frequent it about once a week :) we usually get the queso fundido and a gringo quesadilla to split. Love the salsa bar, our faves are the mango pico & the guac salsa! Service is always top tier, quick and they are always friendly. Weekends are fun but they are definitely packed!

We are here one time before and have wanted to come back ever since. The food is soooo good! The staff is so friendly and the place is so clean with a great vibe. The servings are pretty big. We each had a burrito and could only eat half so we have dinner for later. My granddaughter loved her quesadilla and the chips. The queso and the street corn queso are both delicious. I highly recommend eating here at least once. We will definitely be back.

I stopped in for dinner last night with the family and the place was hopping. Almost seemed like a Friday at other restaurants. This place is so busy they just did a needed extension. Probably the best Mexican cuisine in Augusta. Food: Excellent we had different dishes. I had the Pollo Jalisco and it was seasoned to perfection, came with rice, tortillas, and a guacamole salad, and just the right portion. My son and daughter had the Pollo Con Crema with Chipotle. It came with rice and beans and again the portion was just right. Service: Excellent, we were greeted as we arrived by a host at a reception type desk, he and our waiter were equally friendly and polite. Our waiter was helpful, gave the Jalisco recommendation and attentive. Thanks for that. Ambiance: Welcoming environment, with a lively feel. Modern Mexican style vibes, full bar, with plenty of booth and table seating. Delicious, great for groups and families.

So delicious once again!! Loving the salsa bar. Food was fresh, service was excellent. They were fairly busy in the middle of the afternoon. That was good to see!

El Rey's Mexican Restaurant on Washington Road and Davis Road Augusta, GA. I will definitely be visiting again! Food: Wow! Homemade Potato Chips at a Mexican restaurant... who knew! We ordered the steak quesadillas and veggie burrito. The steak on the quesadilla was tender and seasoned the quesadilla was stuffed with veggies and cheeeese. The homemade tortilla really set the dish off. Service: We had a delightful waitress, she was polite and took time to answer our questions. I appreciate she was attentive but not overly attentive. Ambiance: Authentic decor for a Mexican restaurant however the Aztec Thorn at the entrance along with the wall Art was special.

My daughter stated she gives them a 20 out of 10. When we arrived they weren't busy but the crowd started shortly after. The establishment was very clean and chill. Our server was so sweet and the food was amazing! We ordered a large cheese dip for the table. My son and I are fans of empanadas and wr orders chicken and beef. I would have preferred cheese in mine and a little more seasoning in the beef. But, no worries, I added the cheese dip on top. My son and I also had the Burrito Grande with chicken; soooo good. My daughter had the Pizza Birria and it was delicious. She stated it was the best she's had and trust me she's had her share. My husband had the quesadilla el patron. For drinks, I started off with the Pineapple Aguas Frescas but traded it for the Mango one. The mango was better. My son had the fruit punch Jarrito, my daughter had the mango as well, and my husband had the Horcheta. Needless to say, we will return. This is probably our favorite now!

I love their abundant meat options, which are basically any meat and style you can think of. Their elote/esquite was ok and i think probably very authentic, but i prefer the (undoubtedly less authentic) version where it's just a little bit of corn in a huge cup of mayo. The service is amazing. They are so nice, and when our little one was having a rough time the waitress came over and tried playing with him and helping out. Every time a server would pass by they'd stop and smile at him and you could tell he was the most popular guy in the shop. The -1 star is just for the ambiance, which is fine but nothing spectacular. It can get quite loud, and the fluorescent lights are very bright and a little off putting. It's a fine place to get great Mexican food, it's just not the most pleasant place to eat.

Friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. The chips and salsa deserve their own little party: crunchy, fresh, and gone too quickly. Now, about that Jalisco burrito... let's just say it might've spent a little too much time in deep reflection. Dry chicken, minimal seasoning--it came out more existential crisis than flavor explosion. Not inedible, just not a flavor memory I'll treasure. Still, I'm not giving up. I'll be back to try other dishes. Maybe next time, the burrito will be less philosophy major, more culinary

They weren't particularly busy for 6pm on a Friday. I also saw they have a drive thru. Our server was new and there were a few mishaps with the orders but they fixed it pretty quickly. The chips were fresh. I enjoyed the salsa as it has the right amount of chunkiness. I got the street tacos....you can pick 3 different ones. I got carnita, pastor and asada. Couldn't tell the difference between two of them so not sure if they gave me the same ones....the meat had a nice crispiness to it. I enjoyed the pastor taco that had pinapple. The sweetness complements the pork. I appreciate the homemade Tortilla. It came with a spicy sauce that was super hot so try it out before putting it on your food.
