    Birria taco

So...it's a huge space however it was empty when we went. Yes it was early ...round 430ish. We had a drink and ordered multias and birria tacos. When you are seated.you get a mexican.noodle soup which was pretty tasty and your typical chips and salsa...salsa was ok,not a ton of flavor. The meat from the birria lacked flavor and the consomè didnt have a.robust taste like ive had.im other places or even in Mexico and the multias, which I got chorizo & steak and my friend got chicken tinga also lacked huge flavor...the space is nice the service was good but the food lacks flavor. The meat could have been warmed.on the grill to give some texture. It's ok good but there are.so many mexican restaurants in the area this one doesn't hit the top 5.

Dinner out with a friend and we wanted to try a new place. Lokos Tacos did not disappoint. The staff was very welcoming, we were greeted and seated upon entering. The smells coming from the kitchen, the murals and art on the walls, along with the music coming from the stereo let me know this was a good choice. I ordered the birria quesadilla with the HUGE mangonado with the tajin rim and straw. The waiter suggested getting the meal with rice and beans, but I didn't want to be stuffed. I later regretted my decision because it was soo good! I'm sure leftovers would've been just as good. I'll definitely come back and enjoy another meal and drink.

DH and I went to Loko Tacos on Thursday to beat the Cinco de Mayo crowds. It's a quaint little "hole-in-the-wall" place in a strip mall, but there is so much flavor! The walls are covered in Mexican art and idioms and everything is scrupulously clean. We went at the end of a workday and arrived at a nearly empty restaurant, but that quickly changed as people streamed in. Our server was quick with the menus and drink orders. Besides the usual chips and salsa, we were brought small bowls of noodle soup (unexpected and most welcome). DH asked for a recommendation and got the Birria Tacos. I ordered the pollo La Milanesa Torta which was new to me. The bread was fresh and soft inside while being crunchy outside and the onions and jalapeño were bright spots in the generously portioned sandwich. Nothing beats the fresh flavors and authenticity of this food. DH was sold and we now have a new neighborhood haunt for take-out and dine-in. You should drop in too.

    Margarita tower !! Awesome !!

As a visitor to the area, the place was simple but when you walk in, the experience amazing because the staff was really about the customers and making sure we were happy. Not to mention that the waitresses were GORGEOUS and the waiter was pretty GANGSTA. We started with the drinks and I had the margarita tower and he was worried that I asked for 1 cup. meanwhile, my wife had a monster strawberry frozen margarita which was perfect. They took care of the kids first and made sure they were always smiling. For the main course, we had street tacos and I had a burrito and they new exactly how to style it. I would definitely recommend a visit as to food was amazing and the staff made you feel like home. Did I mention that the waitresses were GORGEOUS!!??

My grandson wanted to get Mexican food so we went to Lokos Tacos which recently opened on Boy Scout Road not too far from where we live. The building is a big improvement over their tiny former place which was in a strip mall. We were seated quickly and our waiter came quickly to get our drinks started and brought us a complimentary bowl of soup. It was tasty but a tad too salty. He also brought chips and salsa. These were very yummy so I ordered the cheese dip too. The large tv nearest to us was broadcasting a Braves game so Mom was happy. The restaurant is big with lovely murals but it is noisy. Another nearby tv was showing college basketball. The menu here is very different than your typical tex mex style place. So much so I recommend you peruse it on line before hand. Mom and I ordered the Texas rice which was chicken, steak and shrimp with vegetables on a bed of rice with cheese sauceThis turned out to be huge enough to share and we ended up taking home half our dinner. Grandson got a seafood soup that was chocked full of mussels l, shrimp, fish and octopus in a tomato based broth. It came to the table extremely hot. He declared it tasty but probably nothing he would order again. I also ordered a Texas margarita (13.99)and mom had a Corona(4.50?). Our total bill was about 80 dollars with the tip this night of eating Mexican was almost a hundred dollars! The service was outstanding and the food good but that hefty price tag makes me question if I would go there again.

This definitely is an Augusta hidden gem! All of the food was delicious, and the margarita was the size of my head! Everyone loved their meals (my favorite was the birria tacos) and everything was delivered fairly quickly as well. It is a smaller place, so I would check ahead for large parties, but everyone is super friendly!

This place is what I'm Taco'n about! I saw there was a new Mexican restaurant in town so I had to take the wife here for a lunch date to check it out. Not only do they start you off with some delicious chips and salsa, but also some sort of chicken noodle-like soup minus the chicken but nevertheless was a nice treat. The wife got the strawberry daiquiri to drink and boy was that thing massive, she was definitely a fan and made for fun shopping partner at Costco afterwards One of the must-have at any Mexican restaurant we try for the first time is their queso dip and if it has chorizo that's even better. This one was fantastic and paired well with their light and craipt chips. I wanted the whole menu but had been craving street tacos so that's what we went with. The wife got her favorite carne asada which were good for her (she has high carne asada standards) and I got the variety pack of pork, spicy chicken, and pulled beef...all of which were fantastic. The only issued I had was that I didn't have enough stomach space to fit it all in comfortably. Washington road has a lot of food options, but this one should be at the top of your list! It's in a shopping mall so it's hidden from the road, but never hidden from my memory...check it out!

Came for lunch with friends, together we made a party of 5. We were treated with chips and salsa for the table and a small bowl of noodle soup for each of us, and all were great starters that whetted our appetites before ordering. I got the Birria "Estilo Jalisco" and enjoyed it thoroughly. The different parts of the dish came out in sequences/stages instead of it being delivered all at once. I got a plate filled with stewed beef, rice and beans along with two small condiment-sized containers of cilantro and diced onions. Then I got my side of consome. Then, much later, I got a foil-wrapped, steaming hot serving of 3 corn tortillas. The stewed beef was heavy, but super flavorful and tender, it basically fell apart on my fork (that's how tender it was). I was confused as to why the consome was delivered to the table well after the initial plate of beef came, but it's ok. The consome was very heavy and was suitable for just a small dip with a piece of tortilla. I left most of it uneaten. The refried beans and rice were good side additions to the dish. The star of the show was definitely the beef, though. I don't know if there's a way to order just the stewed beef, but if there is, I would definitely prefer just that. The tortillas weren't really my favorite, and I think it was because they were just a little too moist. Overall though, the portions are massive. Great value for your money, and very good quality food. Our waiter was very friendly as well and seemed excited to be there. Love the environment and the food, will DEFINITELY pay this place a visit again.

Tried this place after it was recommended by a friend. The location looked a lot nicer on the inside than some of the more hole-in-the-wall taco spots I normally frequent. Chips and salsa were also complementary, which was something else I did not expect. I ordered lengua tacos and tinga chicken tacos. Lengua tacos 3.5/5: The tacos had tortillas that seemed to have been dipped in grease or cooked on an oiled pan for a bit. I do appreciate when street tacos have tortillas dipped in the oil from the meats but these were a bit on the soggier/oilier side. The lengua chunks had a nice char to them and scratch the itch if you're craving lengua tacos. They were slightly chewier than some other places I've had but not bad overall. Tinga Tacos 3.5/5: These tacos had some shredded chipotle chicken meat inside them. The meat was stringy similar to pulled pork and not very tender, but there was a decent amount of the chipotle marinade making it more moist than normal shredded chicken. The tacos were alright and at $3 per taco it is an acceptable price. The service stood out to me, as the waiter was very attentive, and when my friend was given one incorrect taco, they threw in the extra correct taco at no added cost/fuss. Lastly, this place also gets curved up because free chips and salsa which is always a plus in my book. Overall a much more presentable, cleaner taco spot than others I've been to while having options for some tex-mex items and margheritas.

Excellent Salsa and a complimentary Sopa.

This was a authentic Mexican. With a fun vibe and a enticing cocktail menu. They had a margarita tower served in a large tower that looks like a lot of fun although we didn't order it, but the people having it said it was good. They have many taco choices , they even offer Mole with several other authentic mexican dishes on the menu. We always judge the salsa as a baseline for whether it will be good or not. Their salsa is good! The place is small located in a strip mall, with plenty of parking. But limited tables and if your coming with a large group perhaps call ahead. Prices are reasonable with most tacos $3. Definite must on the list if you are a Mexican food or taco lover!

Side of rice, beans, and toppings that come with chicken fajitas.

Small-but-stunning hole in the wall with authentic Mexican food. We were greeted and seated instantly, and the staff helped us make sure that my partner's allergies wouldn't be a problem. The interior is casual but beautiful, and the art on the right side wall is awesome. The small bowl of complimentary noodle soup is something I never knew I needed from a Mexican restaurant, but now I want it everywhere. The chips and salsa also had great flavor. There were about 10 different things I wanted to try, but I ended up settling on chicken fajitas. The giant mountain of chicken, peppers, onions and mushrooms came out sizzling, and the tortillas and sides were fresh. We also had a side of street corn -- top notch. Each kernel of corn was juicy and seasoned. This will be one of our regular stops now when we visit Augusta.

I love their abundant meat options, which are basically any meat and style you can think of. Their elote/esquite was ok and i think probably very authentic, but i prefer the (undoubtedly less authentic) version where it's just a little bit of corn in a huge cup of mayo. The service is amazing. They are so nice, and when our little one was having a rough time the waitress came over and tried playing with him and helping out. Every time a server would pass by they'd stop and smile at him and you could tell he was the most popular guy in the shop. The -1 star is just for the ambiance, which is fine but nothing spectacular.
