I have no complaints for this Tap Ex. Ample amount of parking space and extremely great customer service. I ordered a peach green tea and she accidentally gave me a slushy but let me have both anyway! I love sweet drinks so I like this place. The boba is super soft and chewy toooooo. First time at Tapioca Express & it is comparable to places like Tastea, Dolphin Bay, etc. It has a large drink variety including slushies, iced teas, and other drinks. There are also options on what you want in the drink. I got a passion fruit slushy and I added boba & rainbow jelly. It was pretty good, no different than if I got it from other places. The popcorn chicken was good and the tempura (fish cake) was decent. Overall, it was pretty good. If you're looking for a place to get a drink & snack, this is the place to go to! read more

The quality of the food here is decent. It's better than some other tap ex establishments that I've been to before. The drinks are a bit inconsistent though. I've ordered drinks where the level is sweetness is just fine and then other times where it taste like plain syrup. I think it just needs a little more time to get use to making everything, although they are a business and a well known franchise so there really isn't an excuse. On the bright side, their service seems pretty friendly. I live by SDSU so I am glad that they FINALLY decided to open something near the college area instead of having to drive all the way to Convoy to get milk tea or crispy chicken. read more

I enjoy the TapEx here. I mainly go for my Peach Jasmine Green Teas, and they've certainly always been good. It tends to be pretty sweet if that bothers you. A lot of the reviews seem to be about bad staff, but I've never had something of that nature. read more

It's conveniently placed on my way to school and is even more conveniently cheaper and faster than the Tea Station across the street but I find the drinks pretty inconsistent. I usually order jade green milk tea but I wouldn't recommend it at this location because it's so inconsistent. Sometimes it's okay but sometimes it tastes like pure water and creamer (yuck!), same goes for the oolong milk tea. The thai tea and honeydew snow bubble are okay though. I tend to go here because of the location and distance from where I live. Management needs to change because I've personally heard him yell at a worker from where I was standing. You should never degrade or treat a worker like that no matter what business. The drinks are iffy, which is also why I'm putting their rating so low. I was craving a smoothie sooo bad! But at 9:30 pm it's hard to find a place that's open. Came across Tapioca Express surfing Yelp. I was skeptical after reading some bad reviews about rude and immature employees but I was glad I went in. I don't know if it was different girls working or they finally got their s*** together but the place was fairly crowded with people sitting and enjoying their drinks. Place is rather small, but drinks are pretty good. I like the strawberry milk tea with mini boba. The snacks aren't that great though; the tapioca on convoy street has better snacks, in my opinion. parking here is good, which is one of the reasons why I rather come here than the tapioca up on convoy street. I love TapEx! The one on Convoy St. is better, but this is the best place to get teas and boba in the College area. It is less expensive the Tea Station and their quality and authenticity has really gone up in the last few years. Let me start off by saying, prior to this experience I was a fan of Tapioca Express but If you enjoy HORRIBLE customer service then this particular location is for you. From the moment before I began ordering I was already turned off by the customer service the employee, Jeanie provided, or lack there of.. There was no formal greeting, no interest in the customer and no listening skills. I asked for a Honeydew Milk Tea with boba and before I could finish my request Jeanie was already asking me a series of questions she could've avoided has she simply listened to what I was asking. She asked if my order was correct on the screen, which it was but after giving my total she gave me no estimation of how long my order would take nor thanked me for their business. Avoiding the fact that my generation settles for mediocrity, I paid my total and waited for my drink. When I got my drink I was a bit confused for a typical Honeydew drink reflects the color of the fruit, green, but mine was a caramel brown color. I went next door to order Mexican food, where I was revived through good customer service. As I continued to drink I was beginning to get grossed out. I probably had 3 sips before I decided to return my drink and request another. When I walked in the three employees looked more like a group of high school girls gossiping with each other rather than looking productive. I went up to the counter and simply stated that I didn't care too much for my drink and wondered if I could get a Thai Iced Tea instead. All three of the girls looked at each other dumbfounded until Jeanie took it upon herself to notify me of their store policy...."Apologies but the store policy is if you don't like your drink then you can get a new one for 15% off" At this point I'm extremely disappointed and asked if she was serious. When her reply was yes I threw away my drink and walked out. I went back in asking for a reprint of my receipt and the contact information of the manager. Jeanie replied "its on the receipt." To confirm I asked so this is the number I call? "Yes." And what's the name of your manager? " Nip." And your name is? "It's on the receipt." This is when I think to myself that she must not know how to pronounce her own name since she was incapable of actually stating it. I told her that next time she could just say it. She gave me her horrible rendition of an apology with "I'm sorry." and when I asked her if she was really sorry she gave me a number of disgustingly ugly facial expressions that left me appalled, disappointed and wanting to never step foot into a Tapioca Express again. read more

I went here last Friday evening to take my sister and one of my little brother's friends after an event we had just attended. As usual, it's always busy and I don't mind that I'm use to it. But when I got to the register the girl was extremely rude when my friend as what sweet drink would she recommend. I work as a cashier and I get it sometimes you get over a day BUT I'm never going to roll my eyes at a customer, I would understand also if we keep changing the order and telling her to erase a drink or so on but all our drinks were set and ordered it was just one drink we weren't sure of. This Tapioca Express location is great. The boba drinks are delicious; the service was friendly and quick. If you decide to order food with your drink, you will get a delicious and generous sized portion. This location is smaller and not as "decorated" as the Kearny Mesa location, but what it does have is a large parking lot and a much more quieter atmosphere (if this is what you would prefer). read more

The drink was good and what other people were having while I was waiting there for 20 minutes, looked good too. I am a fan of Tapioca Express ( the one in La Jolla by UCSD is way better!)
