I came during lunch time as the heat wave was hitting SD. Finally had a chance to try it out. Plenty of parking and interior is cute. I asked for the jasmine iced tea with guava flavoring. Luckily, when the worker entered the item, it showed me on the screen and noticed it said passion fruit. I corrected her and she adjusted it. I added boba and when I got the drink it was filled with a lot of boba. The boba was nice and chewy. The drink, however, was overy sweet for me. It didn't really seem like a iced tea to me. More like a slush consistency. Except there was literally 1 tiny ice in there. That was very disappointing. I didn't ask for no ice or light ice. I enjoy majority of my drinks cold, especially on that hot afternoon. It tasted like a fructose kind of sweet, which I am not a fan of. Really sad to return to work and drink it room temp basically. I don't think I will be going back. The ice would've helped but the overpowering sweetness still was too much for me.

What is going on here? The photos of the inside of this establishment are not accurate at all. Feel a bit tricked by what I expected based on photos and reviews because it didn't match my experience at all. If my drink was good the review would reflect that but it wasn't. Boba was too chewy & tea wasn't good.

Cutest Little Tea Shop, has an Eclectic Personality All of Its Own They great You with a Beautiful Smile as soon as you come in... but the real stars of the Show are the variety of different tea's and smoothies! I had the Vietnamese Coffee a couple times now & you can request it with or without Bobas. It's deliciously strong & robust in coffee flavor just like it's suppose to be! My hubby had the strawberry smoothie which was also very delicious & full of flavor! The cherry on top is that it connects to Royal Pho & you can order any of their drinks with your dinner.

Super yummy and a very generous size for price.

Great service and teas. Been looking for a strong Jasmine Tea and this place delivers! The Rose Milk Tea was perfectly sweet, someone knows how to brew tea to the tee here. They are connected with the Pho restaurant next door--It's quite aesthetic inside with nice wood furnishings!

We were looking for a boba place around my husbands new shop and our girls were so excited to find one down the street in Lemon Grove. This cute tea place is right off the 94 easy access , plenty of parking , they're menu was easy to read and everything sounded delicious we went for taro smoothie with boba , I've had really expensive boba at the mall and they're double the price but worth buying because they're delicious BUT this place has great prices and it taste as good or even better !!! The place is perfect for a boba date and decorated to perfection seems like it's family owned and the owners are so sweet and attentive .. it was pretty busy so that says a lot about a place of business . I'll definitely come back every time I'm visiting the area ! Great job ! you guys are killin with the boba !!!!!!!

Randomly saw this while passing the area and decided to swing by! It's connected to the pho restaurant next door, so I was a bit sketched out since I knew the pho place doesn't have the greatest of reviews. We ordered a honey black milk tea with boba and a peach green tea with boba. There was only one person who was staffed, meaning she doubled as our barista and cashier. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes, which was understandable since there was only one person working. I ordered the honey black milk tea with 75% sugar and that ended up being the perfect amount of sweetness. Both of the drinks were good! The boba was also good - it had a nice bite/texture and honey coating. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Service was great, the lady on the counter was patient as we figured out what we wanted. The smoothies were delicious, full of flavor and the popping pearls burst in your mouth. It was a real treat. It's joined with the pho place in case you're hungry and want to grab a bite too. It's a really cute store, very boho vibe. We absolutely love coming here.

My son and I were out by Lemon Grove going to Sam's Club when he said he was craving boba. I remembered noticing this place from the road before, so we detoured over to try it out. Their menu wasn't huge, but had a really nice variety of different drinks. My son decided to order a classic black milk tea with boba, his standard test drink at a new place, and I got a rose milk tea, no boba. When my drink came out, it looked so pretty and pink, especially with the little heart stopper on top. It also tasted delicious. My son said his drink was really good and he was happy with the quality of the boba. At $4.95 for the tea, plus $.75 for boba, the prices are good. We are planning to head back this weekend!

I love boba and am very picky about my boba. I was looking for a lowkey, nearby boba spot and this had good reviews on Google and Yelp. I got a classic black milk tea with boba with 75% sugar and less ice as a standard item to judge Royal Pearl Tea by. It was $6.14, not a bad price but more expensive than I expected as another recent review stated their drink was around $5. The boba was on the firm and chewy side, there certainly was less ice in the drink, and the milk tea was creamy without being overly milky or sweet. I ordered 75% sweetness but it tasted like many other shops' 100% sweetness. The black milk tea was average, not a strong tea flavor or milk flavor. I'd rate the drink a 6.5/10. Royal Pearl Tea excelled in friendliness and atmosphere. The woman at the counter was very nice and even came over and handed my drink to me personally while I was standing farther from the counter by the tables. There are many clean tables and some older but still clean chairs to sit in. This could be a great study spot, though I only spotted a couple of available outlets for those with laptops. The shop is connected to Pho Royal so I saw a few customers picking up takeout from the restaurant and boba at the same time. While the boba wasn't outstanding, I would come back to try another drink or two. I liked their broad menu options. I was especially intrigued that they offer honeydew milk tea, my favorite flavor that isn't common at many boba shops.

I've visited this establishment several times now, and each experience has been outstanding. The quality of both the food and drinks and service is consistently top-notch. I especially love their boba drinks - the flavors are always spot on, and the tapioca pearls are perfectly chewy every time. Whether it's a busy time or a quiet moment, the staff are always quick, efficient, and approachable. I love this place has became my new boba spot !!!

Compared to the name of the spot, the interior felt like it belonged to a night time sushi spot. I'm not sure if they are allowed to repaint the interior, but changing the black/dark blue walls to something more bright would open up the space a little more-- it is a small place, but felt even smaller with the design choice. The menu was organized, but it seems like they were out of a few items in the morning as they didn't have mini pearls--only regular. And for some reason, you couldn't change the sweetness level on the drink...or maybe it just related to the drink I chose? Not sure, it was my first time there. The worker was nice & patient. Although for not having many people in the shop, I hope they could take the time to perfect their boba. It was VERY clumpy and not good-- texturally and taste wise. It didn't have that rich brown sugar taste and it was very gooey and chewy (not in a good way). They did give a good amount of boba, but I feel most people would toss it out because of the bad quality. Which would be a waste of money. To drink, I chose the Hokkaido Milk Tea with Pearls. I wanted to do 50 or 75% sweet but I guess since this is a caramel noted milk tea, it isn't possible. I think the tea was ok. I would order something else next time. My friend had the Okinawa Milk Tea with Pearls, I'm unsure if they asked for a certain sweetness level or not. They said the tea was good, but the pearls weren't good. Something to note, I charged the drinks on my card and rather than saying Sayaka Tea, it said Sharetea...interesting. I wonder if they rebranded themselves or ?? Each drinks were around ~$7-8 ish! I'll give them another try, I hope the boba will be better the next time around and I'll be allowed to change the sweetness. If not, I'll be heading a little further down the street as this tea spot may not be for me!

The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Parking was another pleasant surprise. I originally drove past thinking I'd have to search for street parking, but they actually have a shared lot. It made stopping in a lot easier than I expected. I ordered the On Cloud 9, which is a jasmine green milk tea with cheese foam and brown sugar boba. The drink itself was enjoyable. The jasmine wasn't overpowering, which let the cheese foam stand out without completely taking over the drink. I also liked that the sweetness of the brown sugar boba balanced the slight saltiness from the foam. Flavor-wise, I'd say it held its own against other boba shops in San Diego. The only thing that held it back was the boba. It had almost no chew left. Instead of adding texture, it kind of disappeared after one bite because it was so soft. Boba is one of those toppings that can completely change a drink. Even with that, I'd still come back. The menu has way too many interesting drinks to judge the shop off one order. If the boba had been fresher, this easily could've been one of those drinks I'd order again. I think next time I'd branch out and try something from their Limited Series instead.

They stay open late, have ample parking, the space is clean, and the staff is friendly. They mainly operate with a kiosk ordering system, though I am sure you can order with an employee at the register if needed. The menu is displayed on a TV near the kiosk which makes it easy to find a drink. There are a few specials laid out on the register counter that make that area look a little cluttered. Maybe a bulletin board for those specials would make the space feel less busy, but it did not take away from my experience. After ordering we sat at one of the tables. There is a mix of high top seating and regular tables. I stayed here for about two hours to catch up on getting work done and there was still plenty of seating available. This was on a Tuesday from about 1 to 3 PM. I ordered the Green Tea with Cheese Foam, Golden Boba, 75 percent sweet, and less ice. My husband ordered the Aloe Vera Peach Juice with 75 percent sweet and half ice. We both ordered large drinks. There was no signage about WiFi and I did not see other reviews mentioning it either, so we asked. Luckily the staff gave us the WiFi password which makes this a nice option for studying or getting work done. Our drinks came out pretty quickly. My green tea drink was a little bitter which usually means the tea may have been steeped a bit too long. With the lower sugar level it made the drink taste closer to a 25 percent sweetness level. The boba was chewy like usual but lacked sweetness and flavor, which is pretty typical for Ding Tea. The cheese foam tasted really good but the texture was strange. I occasionally got little chunky bits through the straw that felt like curdled cheese. It was definitely an interesting texture moment. Luckily I am not super sensitive to textures or it might have ruined the drink. Overall my drink was about a 6 out of 10. The Aloe Vera Peach Juice was surprisingly really good. It had a nice peach flavor mixed with that classic aloe vera juice taste you get from bottled aloe drinks. It also came with aloe pulp pieces which worked like a topping. It was refreshing and perfectly sweet. There are not many other boba spots in the surrounding area so competition is limited, but Ding Tea still offers a solid selection of drinks and satisfies the boba craving. Extra points for staying open late.

I have never experienced this encounter before and others who left informed me this boba shop ALWAYS opens late which is surprising to me because in the past they would ALWAYS open on time. I will be now traveling to convoy street if I truly wanted a boba drink. The staff also gave attitude, I don't expect you to be super jolly in the morning but the least you can do is be a little friendly especially if you opened 12 minutes late.
