Bubble tea is one of those things that inexplicably brings a smile to my face, but not so much here. I was so determined to love this place that I've been multiple times, trying various flavors to find one I like. The sad part is, no matter which flavor I got (chocolate, passion fruit, banana and strawberry) all lacked any semblance of the flavor I ordered. They were chalky and in a couple of cases sort of watery. The tapioca they use is quite yummy. I found service to be efficient, but not particularly warm (though not evil either). I personally recommend the popcorn shrimp! But why did I take off two stars? The customer service is awful. The girls working the counter do not even smile. It is like they are being tortured. I got addicted to these kind of drinks while living in Hong Kong, my favorite being the one called called "taro boba" (taro-flavored smoothie with large black tapioca pearls). Here, it's called "snow bubble". I got the taro flavor (delicious) and large tapioca this time, but they have a ton of different flavors and fillings (like grass jelly, which I love and really want to try next). It mostly just tasted like milk, barely any tea flavor. The boba was decent. We also ordered the crispy chicken. It was not very good. It was dry and not very crispy. Won't be coming here again. I love the Passion Fruit Slushy with Tapioca! They do a great job with making the drinks, they are consistently good doesn't matter when you go. The staff is not really friendly but they serve the purpose. I didn't give them 4 stars because they don't take bills larger than a $20. I have gone there several occasions not thinking and they won't accept my $50 bill, and to top it off none of the businesses next door will give you change, so I ALWAYS end up walking around for like 10 mins to get change so I can pay for my drink. I understand that people use counterfeit money but SERIOUSLY, there are ways to verify the money is legitimate! I like this tap ex a lot, this branch specifically. Like a lot a lot. I only get 3 things here in all my visits. A peach green tea, Hong Kong Style milk tea with grass jelly and squid balls. I haven't tried anything else other than those 3. No other tap ex make peach green tea and HKMK like they do. Rich in flavor and it's not all powder at all :) Both drinks have very nostalgic taste to it. It taste like Asia! I'm in love with it. Very refreshing as well. What I like about this place is that they are very accommodating and reliable not like all other tapioca express I have been in to. The staff are always helpful and suggestive and they are all friendly as well. I keep coming back and have used up at least 4 free stamp cards. read more
