Having shots at Princesa! Loved this place!
    Shayla B.

BEST paella that I have ever had in my life. In. My. LIIIIIIFE!!! Mm hmm! Let's talk about it... because this place absolutely deserves its' flowers and then some. This adorable Taperia is nestled along a beautiful alleyway that's just around the corner from the Picasso Museum. I stumbled upon it on my way out of the museum and came back to check it out on my last night in Barcelona. Needless to say, I partied waaaay too hard here which resulted in me missing my flight back home. A very costly mistake that I will never let happen again. But despite this; the memories that I have of Taperia Princesa are some of the best that I had during my time in Spain. I walked in thinking that I'd have a relatively quick dinner before heading back to my hotel to pack and get some rest before my early flight that next morning. But... I ended up partying with my newly made friends until 2 am in the morning. Yes, you heard me right. And yes alcohol was involved and lots of it. Let me just say that the folks at Taperia Princesa sincerely spoiled me on my last night in Barcelona. I enjoyed every damn minute of it too. Their space is extremely cozy and there weren't too many people inside at the time when I first arrived. I made myself comfortable at the bar and the bartenders handled me with so much care. It started off with a complimentary glass of Cava (thanks to Yelp's check-in offer). The wine and drinks here are fabulous! Oh em gee the SANGRIA! Addictive literally. I tried my first ever Cava Sangria and I became instantly hooked. Met a nice couple at the bar and they treated me to another. And then a lovely gal from Poland joined me at the bar, and the drinks continued. At one point, we started doing shots of...?! Whatever it was, it didn't taste like a shot. It was yummy and a creeper. After several more glasses of Cava and Sangria and a few more shots later... well, I'll let you figure it out :). Everyone that I met in that bar was so much fun. We were drinking wine with the owner at one point, and he told us stories of how he migrated to Barcelona. It was amazing. I did eat too. And thank goodness that I did because ya girl probably would have been passed out had I not. Just being real. The PAELLA was friggin' dynamite! It's traditionally made to feed two people, but the chef customized the size and made a special serving just for me. Hats off to this chef!!! First of all, the presentation was exceptional. The amazing aromas that were emanating through the bar as he cooked this paella were mesmerizing. My stomach was growling from the smell of it all. And then boom, they place it in front of my face. Took my first bite and my eyes instantly rolled to the back of my head. A burst of incredible flavors hit my mouth and I couldn't take it y'all. The Spanish seasonings coated my tongue in pure bliss. The fresh seafood on top was like icing on the cake. And then it happened; I murdered the hell out of that plate. The rice was cooked so perfectly. It just melted right in my mouth. A foodgasm ensued right after. I mean... this was the best that I've EVER had. I just couldn't believe it. I to' that ish UP! Had to personally thank the chef because he truly knows what he's doing. You HAVE to try the paella here. It's phenomenal! Somewhere along the lines, I was able to fit a dessert in my belly after all of that amazing paella and alcohol. Crema de Catalunya aka the original Creme brûlée, but THIS is soooo much better than what they serve in the states. It was perfectly torched on top, and oozing with the creamiest center. Electrifying flavors. It wasn't super sweet but wow, it was the perfect dessert. Whatever creme that they use to make this is quite heavenly. As the hours passed, more people arrived and packed this tiny place to the max. And then, a wait and a line formed. People know what's up here. Hours later, I realized that it was almost 2 am. I could not believe that I had been there for that many hours. Time truly flies when you're having fun. So even though I missed my flight back home because of this, it was still the most fun that I had during my trip and a very memorable last night in Spain. Shoutout to the owner David and bartenders Jack and Walid for making my last night in Barcelona the best! If you're thinking about coming to Taperia Princesa, don't even think about; just DO it. You will have an extraordinary time.

Nice taparia around the corner from the Picasso Museum. Ordered seafood paella for 2 and have a :30 wait. A real local spot to practice my Spanish. By 1:00 every seat was taken. Happy to have fast WiFi, cold water & a comfy seat. Our paella was juicy, flavorful & filled with seafood. Lunch was memorable & special !

"The best ice in Barcelona" Stopped in after a successful day at the Picasso museum. Went for the classic combo- 'tatas bravas and sangría. Boy that sangria was good, and better yet, crushed ice! We couldn't believe it. The patatas bravas were perfectly crispy with yummy sauce on top. The waitress was also super kind and Irish and we chatted it up! Good luck to you with your studies and traveling, waitress (I don't remember her name).

Quirky, intimate bar with good food, warm service and steps away from the Picasso Museum. We had a local brew, cava and a vermouth on the rocks. The Broken egg with iberico ham was perfect.

Yelpers never disappoint. Thank you for this excellent recommendation. One of the best seafood paella I have eaten. The black sausage from the tapas menu was especially good. It's a small place so if you have more than 4- it would take a while to be seated. Otherwise- a must visit.

Absolutely the best seafood paella! We were so lucky to have found this special restaurant. Just steps from the Picasso Museum. We sat at the bar and loved the cozy, friendly service.

Taperia Princesa is a decent choice for tapas along this busy Barcelona corridor. The wife and I ordered four tapas and I wouldn't say that we had a favorite one, but each was likeable in its own way. We had: Patatas bravas: The potatoes were tasty. Some of them were crispy and most were soft; the wife particularly enjoyed the latter. But the sauce on top didn't have much taste or the spicy kick that this dish is typically known for. Steamed mussels: The mussels tasted fresh and were drizzled with olive oil. Yum! Spanish omelette: Made with egg, onion and potato. This was decent, as good as we've had elsewhere. Cod fritters: These were made well, nice and crispy, and the accompanying sauce was great for dipping. We also ordered a sangria de cava. Sangrias are typically made with an assortment of fruit, but this one had only orange slices. It tasted more alcoholic than fruity and wasn't as flavorful as other sangrias that we had in Barcelona. Prices included tax, and the total was €21.45, on par with other restaurants in the area. Service was warm and friendly, and our hostess checked in on us midway despite the place being busy. Overall this place gets 3.5 stars for the quality of the food, rounded up for the pleasant service and ambiance.

Really enjoyed this tapas place. Servers were so friendly. The sardines, pa amb tomaquet, and patatas bravas were very good. Enjoyed a glass of cava and the house vermouth. Music was a good vibe. Would come back.

    Mussels

Ate here after the Picasso Museum with my wife and son. Tapas were amazing. Ordered quite a few. My favorites were the garlic shrimp and the chorizo. Sangrias were a perfect complement and the staff was amazing! Definitely recommend Taperia Princesa to anybody.

    Mojito

Enjoyed the shrimps in garlic sauce and the sausage and potatoes. Also a tasty mojito and a free shot! Kind and welcoming staff and a nice ambiance. Thanks!

A stock bar, like a Picasso masterpiece, is a beautiful thing ;)

This was one of my best tapas stops in Barcelona. It's not too far from the Picasso Museum, the perfect spot to wait for your reservation to the museum. And like Picasso, the chef is creating some tapas masterpieces, works of culinary art that will have your mouth watering. I started off my tapas journey with a small plate of sautéed mushrooms. These gems were swimming in a buttery, garlic sauce that was perfection on the tastebuds. But it was the slow-cooked squid/beef meatballs that served as star of this culinary exhibition. These savory morsels brought the sea and the farm together with each delicious bite. When the owner explained that they were cooked slowly for about six hours, I could see why they melted in your mouth. The service was also excellent, and I received a free glass of wine for checking in, making this a true yelper's paradise of food and drink. A lot of owners are more keen on other reviewing sites, but this owner seems very receptive to Yelp, which made me feel right at home.

Decided to stop in for a quick drink and stayed for food as the atmosphere was so cute and relaxed. The food was great - patatas bravas were really good and the peppers were great. Definitely a place to stop by to grab a few tapas with some friends

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me.
