Rosé Vermouth Spritzer with dehydrated mandarin orange slice

Wow! Tapas Angel is a top notch Iberian restaurant in Pioneer Square with Latin American influences. Small and cozy with amazing food and drinks. The service is impeccable! Diego is incredibly inviting and friendly and makes you feel at home in his beautiful restaurant. He's very knowledgeable about wine, vermouth and sherry and everything on the menu. We ordered the spinach salad with blueberry vinaigrette, the wild mushroom empanada and the pork empanada, prawns in a buttery sherry sauce, and manchego cheese with mānuka honey for dessert. All delicious. Their house made mojo verde and mojo picón are divine as well! Highly recommend the fried plantains and the pan seared octopus. An absolute must try if visiting downtown Seattle.

The Arepa con queso with torrezno is out of this world ! The chef and owner Diego is super attentive. Love this place! Btw, don't leave this place without trying the pork belly!

Excellent service and amazing food! Don't leave without trying the Iberian pork belly!

Love this new place in pioneer square! Stopped in after seeing it on IG and I'm glad I did. It's super cozy inside with 2 and 4 tables set in an L shape in front of big picture windows. We grabbed a spot and Diego came right over to give us a survey of the menu: Empanadas: a must get, there's a vegetarian and meat option. I preferred the veggie and my husband preferred the meat. Regardless though - these empanadas were stuffed. And PERFECTLY crisp. I knew these folks were making food right! Next we ordered the arepa con queso which was good but it was not my favorite next to the empanadas. That's the beauty of tapas - being able to try a lot of different things! We were really attracted to the option of the octopus but decided to finish with the albondigas and the Maduros - which surprising to me went really well together. The albondigas pack some heat and warmth to them. The maduros were absolutely sublime. Service was so attentive - Diego made my husband and I feel right at home. There looks to be a solid beer and wine menu - about 6-8 different types of red and white each if I recall correctly all at reasonable price points. Upcoming brunch menu so I'm excited for that! I've already made plans to come back with some friends. Head on over to this place and check it out before it gets discovered and you'll need a reservation for a seat on a Wednesday!

Unbelievable spot! So happy we stopped in! Delicious, amazing service (love Diego!) if I could give more than 5 stars I would. We will definitely stop in whenever we are downtown!

Amazing little spot! The owner Diego was very friendly and attentive. He suggested a number of dishes that were great, especially the Pernil Puerto Rican pork dish. We tried two different wines that were delicious. Highly recommend!!!

House made Sangria. So wonderful smooth with fresh fruit.

I booked a reservation weeks out and we got our party of nine right in for brunch on a Sunday. We just loved the vibe of this place from the moment we arrived. The decor. The ultra friendly staff who greeted us and sat us at our table. And I always love an open kitchen in the dining room. This was the last meal with family before we headed back home to Hawaii later that evening. So the goal was to order as many dishes as possible and share share share. We ordered the Tower of Chengdu Wings, Japanese Zosui, Burmese Laphet Thoke salad, Caribbean Pineapple Cornbread, World Butter Board and Beirut Hummus. Talk about a dance party on your palate. Every dish was so flavorful, thoughtfully prepared and so damn tasty. Broke da mout to be exact. The wings were amazing and packing heat with Thai chilies all over. I avoided the chilies and devoured the chicken. Yum. I loved the Burmese tea salad, cornbread and hummus. The World Butter Board is a must if you're in the mood. They have a great selection of cocktails and beers too. The Kat Chai was refreshing and delicious...and the Rupee Beer Basmati Rice Lager was something I never had before. That was really nice as well with the meal. After we finished our meal we couldn't help but notice all of the different collectibles displayed in the wall. This character with big red hair caught my wife's attention. She was excited to find out they actually made shirts with the character on it...so we also left with some Nue swag. All in all a great Sunday morning for bunch here at this spot. Awesome food, excellent service and a paid lot right next door for convenience. I'm so glad we made it here and can't wait to come back on a future visit. Mahalo to the Nue team for an incredible experience.

Once seated and the rest of the party arrived the service was quick and courteous. I ordered the "chicken and waffle", friends had the "sunny bunny" and the French tacos. Shared the corn bread. Chicken was super yummy! The sichuan pepper sure was tingly and the generous sprinkle of birdseye chili on top was giving enough heat to make the coffee a little uncomfortable. And no, that's not a bad thing, quite the opposite. Cornbread is almost impossible to cut without turning into a head of crumbles, but the flavor is on point. Note: the "topped with coconut shavings" is an understatement. There's almost as much coconut as corn here. So if you're not a huge fan of coconut you may want to steer clear. The place is hustling and bustling, and there is little space between the tables, but while seated you don't mind; the noise level is ok and your conversations don't carry between tables. Been quite a while since I was here last, and as with every time I do I wonder why I don't come more often... Great place.

Well balanced flavors, and rich texture, and a fun cocktail selection as a plus My favorites: - zaalouk: Smokey eggplant with nicely minced garlic for extra flavor - tortilla espanola: simple authentic Spanish style. Delicious - squid steak: a must-order!!! So tender and thinly sliced squid soaked in nutty and tomato-ish sauce. Full of umami flavor. Loved the zucchini in it too though it's just a side character. Most squid dishes in the states don't get the texture right, hard to chew sometimes, but this one is superior in many ways - lamb brochette: tender and juicy Will definitely come back here bringing family and friends - this place is such a gem and I would highly highly recommend to everyone!!!

The hosts were great and flexible by means that we got here right before close and all that was left was wine and oysters from the adjacent restaurant but they let us relocate next door where they had more options in terms of food. So we ordered 2 dozen oysters (there was no advertised price), bottle of wine (62 bucks) clams, cheese, and another side dish, and a few beers. Food taste was great but very small portions for the money. I believe the steamed clams was like 30 something but barely a pound so we ordered another one. Thought the total bill for the 4 of us was going to be around $200 but was shocked to see a $510 dollar bill for some small apps and wine/beer. Turns out they up charged the oysters imho so was 120 for 2 dozen and automatically added 22% gratuity without ever disclosing any of this. We were still hungry and had to uber eat afterwards. We could have gone to Ruth Chris steak house for the price of 4. Our rental car also was smashed into off the street and window was missing as well as our son's back backpack. Very disappointing day . I seldom take the time to write up a review but this deserves disclosure to forewarn others that it is expensive

It was a lovely sunny day so it was nice being outside - they do have large umbrellas but it doesn't cover the whole group so it can get a bit hot in direct sun. We didn't realize it, but we accidentally came during restaurant week (although we were supposed to have brunch). Since they only had 3 things on their brunch menu, we opted for the restaurant week menu. We tried the shishito peppers, poutine, tomato soup, burger, spaghetti, lemon tart, and a pate choux. A 3 course was $35 which is reasonable (portions were pretty small so easy to finish). The highlight were the tempura shishito peppers; the aioli that came with the peppers was delicious and the peppers themselves were hot and crispy. The poutine appetizers was unfortunately disappointing (very meaty, actually no curds at all and large soggy potatoes). The entrees took awhile to come out which wasn't a problem since we were just socializing. The burger was decent; it came with a goat cheese and the soup was good. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the pasta; portion was very small and it was very very salty (and had capers on top which did not help). We ended up getting our desserts to go since our group was heading to the wineries and tried them later. We did enjoy the dessert. The lemon tart portion was very small but tasty and the pate choux was also good too, so I would recommend the desserts here. I think this place is great for large groups and had a pleasant experience overall, but the rating is for the food alone which I was unfortunately pretty disappointed in.

UPDATE: 3/24/26... As a Yelp Elite member for 6 years, I…read morepride myself in giving fair reviews, whether good or bad. And with the bad, I strive to be positive on the experience that was good before giving suggestions or letting the owner know what fell short. I'm never out to bash a business. Rather, as an owner, if you pride yourself in customer service, you will take what a sincere Yelp Elite reviewer has to say, step back and see how you can improve. I just read the comments another reviewer posted a few days ago and saw that they were berated as well. I had nothing to gain from giving the review I did and it's unfortunate that you're no longer going to be in business, but there were two other people with me that came to this consensus. With that, I will reply to the unfortunate remarks slammed at me, the reviewer. Let me preface by saying I asked for a pic with the owner before tea service started. If it was said that we had a wonderful and lovely time, it was not by me but one of my friends who, when asked how everything was, couldn't think of anything else to say. Also, I wasn't going to express all of this in front of the owner at the time because I had others with me. So, to rebel and ask me if my mother is still alive and did she teach me to behave like this? Well, all I can say is your reaponse as a business owner is extremely childish and unprofessional. I didn't make the food. I reviewed it and if that means it's not the best review, so be it. It pains me not to give a business owner a good review because that's not what we as Elite members strive for. That said, lashing out is not the answer. At least I have the maturity and diplomacy to put these comments in without getting into a mud fight like you chose to do. Review..... My two girlfriends and I came here for afternoon tea. Since I'm the Yelp reviewer, I asked them for their input and so it was a consensus of the three of us. Here's what went right. It was nice to have a carafe of water at our table, there were beautiful flowers and dyed water to match in the vase, the teacups and saucers were very pretty, the owner was extremely nice. Here's what we thought needed a second look. The sign in the store advertised cheese and fruit for the afternoon tea but it didn't appear. When we asked we were told it didn't come with it but we could get some if we wanted. Please revise the sign as people do notice. Suggest you have a selection of three sandwiches rather than two of each. One was a small croissant filled with egg salad and if we hadn't been told that we thought it might be chicken. The other was a cucumber sandwich which although it's nice to have thin slices of cucumber, these were razor thin. Sort of disappointing that there was so little on a beautiful piece of bread. They scones were nothing special. Perhaps have something inside whether it be cranberry, currant etc. The sweets consisted of a Mexican wedding cake which was rather dry and was there a detection of almond extract? The orange macaron, as beautiful as it was, lacked flavor of orange. I was expecting a nice burst of something but it just wasn't there. The fondant on the petit four was much too thick, and sweet. Whatever fashion the raspberry is used, keep a bit of that tart flavor to offset the sweetness from the fondant. The effort was there, things just felt short.
