My family doesn't really eat out very much these days because it's all gotten so expensive, but tonight, I had a real craving for some potato skins. There was lots of praise on my neighborhood page for Taormina Pizza in Blackwood, NJ, so I thought we'd give them a try. I ordered my potato skins; my husband ordered a medium pizza with extra cheese and bacon, we ordered some onion rings and my granddaughter got a kids' meal. The whole thing came to $53.00 and some change (not including tip.) When I ordered, I asked the girl taking my order if their onion rings were batter-dipped; she assured me they were. The order took 40 minutes to arrive, which is pretty typical, so no problem. As it turns out, their onion rings are NOT batter-dipped, but rather breaded. Sigh, ok. My husband's pizza had bacon as ordered, but also sausage...I wonder if we were charged for the extra topping. Ok, he said he'd eat it. My potato skins were literally burned to a crisp. Completely inedible. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they had caught on fire in the oven. I called immediately and the manager apologized and explained that the cook was probably busy and left them cook too long. That may be, but then why would you send this slop to your customer instead of remaking them? He asked if I wanted new skins sent out and I said yes and asked if it was going to take another 40 minutes to get them. He promised they would be delivered within 20-25 minutes. Fifty minutes later, I had to call and see if they were still coming. If that wasn't bad enough, when their driver brought them to my house, he rang the bell, put my bag on top of a bush and left. Rather than wait for the 12 seconds it took for me to answer the door, he put it on a bush. Who does that? I didn't even know where it was when I first opened the door! We will not be returning.

I don't know what all the complaints are about. Have been coming to this place for years for their tasty pastas, addicting pizzas, and definitely different but delicious wings. The employees are always friendly and the cooks always look like they're working hard. 5/5 in my book

Apparently, they go through 15 gallons of it every week. More on that in a minute. I took my cheesesteak over to Death of the Fox Brewery. Why? Because the two breweries that were closer happened to be closed. Their loss, my gain. I love Death of the Fox, but that's a story for a separate review. First, I sampled the meat, cheese, and onions by themselves. Pretty darn tasty. Next, I tried a bite on the toasted garlic roll. Very pretty darn tasty. Then I added the habanero sauce. Now we're talking. Very, very pretty darn tasty. If you've followed my cheesesteak adventures for any length of time, you know I'm not exactly a hot sauce guy. I was expecting some serious heat, but I'd describe this as more of a sweet habanero with a pleasant kick. Best of all, I suffered no repercussions afterward--a minor miracle. The cheesesteak was excellent, the garlic roll added another layer of flavor, and the habanero sauce tied everything together. Honestly, I'm surprised Whit or Whitout doesn't get mentioned more often on social media. They deserve a lot more attention. Decor was all Philly!!

Burger runn Cheesesteak…read more I've been told repeatedly to try the cheesesteaks here. On a previous visit I had the burgers and I thought they were very good. Though at my visit today I discovered they use Martin's potato rolls for the burgers. The place was a former deli and is tiny. I was greeted at the door and they took my order. Cheesesteak fried onions provolone. My go to order. The floor is tiled and slippery and I almost fell several times. It was around 4:15 so I thought I beat the dinner rush but apparently everyone orders from here on DoorDash or Uber Eats. At least a dz orders were picked up while I was waiting. I thought the wait was a little long.... But I stood there waiting for my sandwich. Finally a woman from the back come up front to address a problem with a chicken order and asked what I was waiting for.... A cheesesteak I replied and the counter woman that took my order grabbed a bag that was sitting in the pickup pile and handed it to me Alex? She asked yes I replied. I took my sandwich and got into my truck. At a red light I reached over to feel the bag... it was Luke warm. I expected my sandwich to be piping hot. Ggggggrrrrrrr. That is why I ordered at the place but the nearly 30 minute wait with the undetermined amount of time it was on the to go counter will you get the picture. On my arrival at home I opened the sandwich and snapped a photo. At this point it was barely warm. I prepared it with ketchup, hot pepper hoagie spread and my last slices sweet horseradish dill pickles. The first bite was underwhelming. Barely warm and the roll which was supposed to be sarcone's tasted more like amoroso. Onions were diced into fine cubes and I prefer more than the tiny amount provided. Overall taste was good but because it was nearly cold hard to actually evaluate. The overall sandwich had enough meat and a good meat to bread ratio. I found no trace of fat or grizzle. Maybe if circumstances were better I would have been happier but it did not reach the hype.

Take out only place with some outdoor seating previously went by another name. I really enjoyed it…read more They were very busy making everything from scratch and the onion rings and smash burgers were excellent, though I think the burger was better than the rings.

Sometimes the simplest places are the ones that end up impressing you the most…read more Steak Out has been around forever, and after finally stopping in, I completely understand why. From the outside it looks like your classic neighborhood cheesesteak shop, but once you walk inside you're greeted by a surprisingly warm, rustic dining room filled with old license plates, wood accents, and just enough local character to make you want to sit down instead of grabbing your food and leaving. I ordered a cheesesteak, and this thing was absolutely loaded. Not one of those sandwiches where half the roll is empty--every bite was packed with tender, finely chopped steak. The meat was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the cheese was melted throughout instead of just sitting on top. Sometimes cheesesteaks try to get fancy with a hundred toppings. This one proves you don't need any of that when the basics are done right. The surprise of the meal, though, was dessert. I figured I'd finish with a slice of cheesecake, expecting something ordinary. I was wrong. It was rich, creamy, and the perfect way to end the meal. It's the kind of dessert that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite. Service was friendly, the restaurant was spotless, and the atmosphere felt comfortable--exactly the kind of place you could bring family, grab lunch with coworkers, or stop by after a long day. South Jersey has no shortage of places claiming to have a great cheesesteak, but Steak Out has earned its reputation. When you combine generous portions, quality ingredients, a welcoming dining room, and a fantastic dessert, it's easy to see why this place has been a local favorite for so many years. This definitely won't be my last visit. There's still plenty left on the menu I want to try, but one thing is certain--the cheesesteak alone is worth the trip.

The meat is seasoned well and the provolone cheese blends it together just right. I imagine if a spokesperson was to reply, he or she would point out that all items are made to order. And yes, I get that. I expected a minor wait. But then the two people before me and the one after got their food within a normal timeframe, yet I was still waiting. Eventually I saw my sandwich get placed on the counter (with grease oozing out of the paper), but the lone cashier was ringing someone else up and neither of the kitchen guys would walk around to hand it to me. I feel like they could've left their posts for a split second when it was clearly mine. No one else was standing there. The cashier didn't apologize for the wait when she wordlessly and robotically handed me the sandwich. I ordered the chicken parm cutlet. Added lettuce, which is apparently a premium choice and cost an extra $0.35. Mayo doesn't cost extra. The sandwich itself was okay. Greasy, yeah, and just all around average. The cutlet wasn't as firm and bready as I'm used to. For the wait, the quality should've been higher. At $13.07 for a sandwich and a birch beer, I just expected a much better meal. I also felt sick to my stomach after eating, and I feel like I can safely blame it on the grease. Next time I'll choose a different food court stall.
