Tanners Engraving has two locations, my dad and I walked into the Bascom location and spoke with Cathy, they were quite booked with work but she called her husband Tom at their Race St. Location and he was able to take our order. We were so excited and relieved that they were able to fit in our order. It was beautiful and really added to the statue my dad made for my mom. I came in to get a piece of acrylic I had engraved for me and my girlfriends anniversary. We went over exactly what I wanted and she made sure that we were on the same page and helped with the design. She ended up changing the design a bit for better aesthetics and I think it was the right choice, it came out better than I thought! The order was ready exactly when it was said to be (1 week), and the price was very fair ($35). I think my girlfriends going to love it! read more

I can't say enough about the great work this business does! I had an art project in which I needed etching done on 13 large cast acrylic, and they all had to be even and set carefully since they would be framed and hung side by side. Cathy was very careful in going over exactly what I needed and gave suggestions on font sizes, which was very much appreciated. Some of the most rude people I've ever dealt with. I guess the guy who works there 'Tom' would not honor my price quote he previously gave me. I gave him precise details on my product. He told his other coworker he didn't know full details before he gave the quote which is a lie. He also rushed me off the phone every time I spoke with him and sounded completely bothered by me calling. Would never work with people like this. read more

I was in a time pinch to get a perpetual plaque engraved, Cathy came through with flying colors! During the ordering phase she knew the existing font on the plaque. She did inform me that one of the engraved names would be slightly smaller, due to the number of characters. I liked how she set expectations. I could see some customers being very disappointed that the characters were not the same size, when they received the finished product.
