They have been around for decades and that is why they are so experienced and can solve any problem and do pretty much anything with awards, trophys etc. Extremely friendly and helpful with tons of knowledge with awards. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Check the times and days they are open. Dawn read more

Gloria was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I will be recommending this gem to all my colleagues and family/friends.

Not the biggest fan of this place. I really wish I didn't have to write a negative review since Frankies has such a high rating and it's a little family shop, but my experience here left a sour taste in my mouth. We came in with a custom award bought elsewhere hoping that we could get some help engraving one of the plaques on it. The woman helping us immediately asked us for the name of either the font or the method used to engrave the award. We honestly don't know anything about awards or engravings since this was just a little family gift, so we were clearly confused and expressed our unsureness of her question. She made us feel like total idiots, snapping at us afterwards and saying that we need to come in knowing this fact. We NEVER got an explanation of what she meant or how to figure out the answer and she quickly got our name and phone number and said she'd call us when it was done. She didn't even say we were at the end of our transaction or anything, so we took our card out like how a normal transaction goes, and she snapped at us again saying we pay when we pick it up. How were we supposed to know? I honestly don't know, but I feel like her hatred to us was very targeted. We are very young looking POC and we immediately felt unsafe stepping into the store... that's all I'll say about it. read more

Moreland Middle School always gets their medals, plaques and trophies here at Frankies Awards! I'm rather new as the Athletic Director and I can't think of a reason I would go anywhere else for my awards. Gloria guided me as I bombarded her with questions during my initial ordering process. She is patient, no-nonsense, and I trust her implicitly...she's always right! read more

I've been a customer here for about five years. As a high school coach, this is where I choose to get awards for my students. Frankie's has a large selection of different kinds of awards, including every sport you can imagine, trophies, a wide variety of plaques, and corporate-style glass or acrylic awards. The store is small, so examples of awards are often stacked 3- or 4-deep on shelves, but if you ask Gloria or Frankie for some ideas, they will be able to take you right to an award that can work for you. They also have lots of examples of different kinds of engraving so you can pick what you like. Bottom line: Frankie's is a good shop. I highly recommend it. read more

Wow! This place has the best customer service ever. I was able to get a very nice, customized and elegant trophy for a reasonable price. Gloria helped me and was patient, kind, and provided creative input to make my decision. The trophy I got came out amazing and I am so happy to gift it so someone. I will say that there are a lot of options to commemorate significant moments in loved ones lives or for team trophies. They have small participation size trophies, medals, plaques, team size 3' trophies, you name it, they probably got it. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for trophies and/or plaques. Tips: only takes CASH and CHECK read more

I retired from a school district who used Frankie's excellent service for years. Personally I rely on them every year to maintain our perpetual horseshoe tournament trophies for our family reunion. We have always had swift and accurate results with everything we have contracted with them. I highly recommend their services. Frankies Awards - Engraving Near Me - San Jose, California

See all

Frankie is the owner, Gloria is chief cook and bottle washer, and what a great team they are. I'm not really sure how long they've been in this business, but combined, their many years of experience out shines all others in San Jose and 50 miles out. You request it, they will figure out a way to make it happen. There's probably not too many requests they haven't seen when it comes to awards, nameplates, name tags trophies and plaques. They can engrave just about any surface and even encase memorabilia in solid acrylic. And when you drop in, be sure to pet Divit (Frankie's Baby), one of the cutest puppies you'll ever make friends with... read more

NOTE: THEY ARE CLOSED SUNDAY/MONDAY AND ONLY TAKE CASH/CHECK! I went to Frankie's to get a nameplate added to a tourney plaque and to also get a plaque made for my husband. The prices were EXTREMELY reasonable and the woman working there was extremely friendly. I needed it in 2 days and she said no problem, no rush fee. She then called me only 24 hours later to tell me it was ready!!!! How great is that! I could not beat the price even on an online retail discount trophy website! A+ experience and I will be back if I ever need another award! read more

This review is based on a phone inquiry only. I called several area trophy shops looking for 4 plaques for student awards. Of course, I waited until the last minute and need them in 6 days, by Monday. I described what I was looking for, and the woman who initially answered my call said she wanted me to speak with Gloria. Then she set the phone down and I heard her tell Gloria about me, and heard Gloria sounding like she didn't want to talk to me, but finally she picked up. I pretended I hadn't heard, and I described what I am looking for again, to Gloria. She immediately told me that what I wanted (a small plaque with a stock emblem and engraved plate) is more expensive than an acrylic award, and started talking to me about acrylic awards. It wasn't really what I wanted, but I was willing to be convinced. However, it didn't sound like what we are looking for, and the price was WAY high ($50-60 each). I told her that and she said they have a $30-ish option in resin, which again wasn't what I'm looking for. I am shocked that they are the 3rd store I've spoken with that cannot do a simple 6x8" (ish) plaque for a student achievement award for a reasonable price! I'll keep looking... read more

I am in total agreement with most the high praises on here. These folks are far more reasonable than the previous place that used to do my engraving and just as good in quality. I feel we are fortunate to have them around to help those of us that are on a budget but also want "quality" in the product we buy. I use them to do the plaque engraving for my artwork and they are always quick with their work. I've been able to bring my artwork in so they can assess what plaque would work best & got the plaque done the same day while I sit there and wait. How amazing is that! Another time I had an award engraved to give someone as a gift and I couldn't believe their low price compared to this other place I had gone to for decades. Again Frankie's simply have the best hearts as the gift was to a young boy whom was going through difficulties in his life and the award was meant to cheer him up. They said they gave me a discount to further the gift to help the young man! I know they have been around for decades and I hope they aren't going away anytime soon, they are the best! read more

Wow! Talk about going the extra mile! I've been here before for various trophies over the years, but needed a name tag for my son's class requirement. Called on a Sat. for some questions and didn't realize they were closing in 10 minutes. Gloria totally went above and beyond and printed the tag right up and left it for me at the neighboring business for pick up since they were closing. The best customer service I've had in a long time. Thanks again Gloria! Janell read more

Perhaps I caught them on a bad day, I'm not sure. I had a specific trophy I wanted that would need to be ordered from one of their vendors. I explained that it was for a person whom had recently passed away, and how we wanted to use the trophy. I was quoted a particular price for this trophy which seemed high, but it was a unique trophy, so I thought I'd check around since I had the exact part number of the trophy. Turns out the price I was quoted was more than 400% markup!! That's just ridiculous and unacceptable in my book. read more

I just went to Frankies as my 5 year old son received a trophy for a soccer tournament with a girl on the top instead of a boy. Even though they hadn't made the trophies, they graciously replaced it for me and he'll be so happy now. Thanks! read more

Gloria was able to help me get a trophy engraved on the spot! The last of a dying breed of small businesses... Frankie was so informative and sweet over the phone, I knew this was worth the drive. Gloria was so incredibly helpful and friendly when I arrived. I was purchasing a perpetual plaque for "Employee of the Month" at my day spa and she went above and beyond to create what I had envisioned. Even made suggestions that helped it look even more fantastic! I was wishing the wood was a tad bit darker... And she went through the entire box to find the walnut that was the darkest. When she called me up to let me know it was ready, she was genuinely excited to tell me how great it turned out (several days ahead of schedule, I might add). This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill trophy shop. I felt like I took a piece that was crafted with care... It looks amazing and I will be proud to display this in Preston Wynne spa for years to come! read more

I have been a customer of Frankie's awards for 19 years. I have received prompt, courteous, and friendly service. Frankie and Gloria provide a personal touch. Without her reminder, I would havae been late in ordering this year. This is just an example of their personal, courteous service. Frankie's saved us! On an extreme timeframe for a company award dinner, we came into the store and explained our time constraint. Very impressive customer service. read more

Frankie's Awards really came through for me! After browsing Internet sites and making a couple of calls to local shops, I panicked that my last minute need for a corporate plaque was going to go over budget. Whether it was rush shipping charges or a $75 fee with another local vendor to set up my logo in their system - I was not hopeful when I called Frankie's Awards. Well, Gloria turned my frown upside down nearly immediately! She asked me the right questions right off the bat - who is this for (man, women, traditional, modern) and what was my budget? She quickly emailed over some samples and I emailed her my final wording and corporate logo. All in all, this transaction from beginning to end was done in 3 hours. I just so appreciate at how simple this transaction was! Not only do I feel good about supporting a local business, I also feel like I was assisted by an expert - which expedited the process. The final product turned out beautifully! I highly recommend Frankie's! read more

I thought I was doomed until I found Frankie's Awards. I felt bad asking for a last minute project, but they were so patient. (Did I mention I showed up 5 mins before closing!). When I said I would not be able to pick up, that I needed it shipped - it was "no problem!" Would have met the deadline just fine. I got a call 2 hours later that my job was COMPLETE! They felt bad about all the shipping charges I would have incurred - so they made my order so I could take it with me on location. Amazing people. They truly cared about my situation. Angels!! Going to move all of my business to Frankie's! read more
