Oh how this hurts me :( I was hoping this place would be my saving grace on the hunt to find one edible Asian/Chinese spot between Pearland, Mo City and Sugar Land. Seriously there are NO good Chinese food spots within those 3 cities. I'm not talking about Thai, Vietnamese or Japanese but rather Americanized or authentic Asian cuisine. Before everyone shoves Pepper Twins down my throat, I DONT EAT DARK MEAT CHICKEN, ever !!!! They refuse to offer white meat, ergo I refuse to eat there. (No matter how good the green beans are) at least this is what I've been told. Ugggh I have to travel all the way to Houston for some decent food. Why is it that the more rural you get, the worse the food? Back to the review. The decor is cool and the booths are nice. It's tiny inside, not very big but relaxing. The service is meh, very lackluster and quite frankly scarce. We had to motion repeatedly for refills and he never asked how our food was. If you do decide to try it, I'd go during lunchtime because at least it's cheaper and you can get a combo. At dinner there's no combo, so you pay extra for soup and egg roll. With that being said the soup, egg roll and spring roll are horrible. The egg roll is something like you'd get at a fast food place, the spring rolls don't taste good and the wonton soup is awful. I'm not sure how you mess wonton soup up, but they did just that. My soup was yellow, as if they just dropped chicken bouillon cubes in it. It was sooooooo salty I felt my blood pressure skyrocket and I got a pretty bad headache. Needless to say I stopped at 3 sips of soup. My husband got Mongolian beef and it would have been pretty good if not so sweet. I've never had a sugary Mongolian beef. I'm talking trick or treat sweet, like buckets of sugar sweet, diabetic coma type issues here. Take out all the sugar and you have a decent dish. I had chicken with veggies and it was supposed to be a brown garlic sauce. The chicken was ok and veggies fair but the sauce was so yucky. I was really disappointed because I realized I've just wasted another 40.00 on dinner that I'm not eating. I packed it to go then tossed it. I couldn't put my finger on why the brown sauce tasted so weird. It was like it had ketchup mixed with ginger mixed with something else that just left an odd taste. I wanted to eat it, I was starving but just couldn't. I don't think I'd ever go back, I'm not sure I'd like anything else and I really don't like wasting money. I have eaten at Tang's Kitchen a few times over the past three to four years. It is the place I order simply because of proximity to my house. My sister really enjoys it. Personally I prefer Kappa on the other side of 288 but they no longer deliver to the Shadow Creek side of the highway probably due to all the new construction. I have had a few less than stellar customer service experiences here so I have not been back in about 6 months. If you just happen to have a craving for Chinese food it's not the worst option but there are a few better options in the pearland area so I would definitely give some other establishments a try first. read more

In the 7 years I've lived in the area Tang's was a go to. In the past year the quality has diminished (mushy fried rice), mushy wet vegetables in the vegetable egg rolls. The wings are dirty, in that there's yellow fat. Today was my last visit to what was previously an A rating, that dropped to a B and now should do better or close! No longer supporting. Let's start off this review by saying that I have been to many Chinese restaurants and have enjoyed many lunch specials. Today was probably the 3rd or 4th time that I've ordered takeout from this place and I don't know why I keep going back. Not only are they inflexible (for a person who would like to sometimes have a vegetarian option). The last time I checked both tofu and mushrooms are much less expensive than real meat. The only option that was offered to me was to buy the more expensive dinner portion to get the option that I wanted for lunch. I guess people that are vegetarian are just out of luck when it comes to lunch specials, which seems like a complete first world problem but if you are serving the public, it's something that you need to think about. I was finally able to convince her to give me mushrooms instead of meat on two different lunch specials but, that came after much coaxing on my part. Well they are busily declining customer request , their time would be better spent working on the taste of their food to ensure that it that it's actually worthy of being purchased. Let me underscore that the food is edible. It is edible. So, you may read between the lines when you determine what that actually means in terms of flavor. The food and its corresponding sauces are fairly bland and don't really hold up two much comparison with the other Chinese places in the area. read more

This is the 2nd time trying this place, I ordered the happy family plate and I was so dissapointed. Not flavor on the dish, only 1 shrimp and the rest of the chicken and steak were not fresh at all! Sooooo my mini-me picked this place to eat for her birthday. (I'm choosing next time) Large portion sizes, but everything is mediocre. Crab Ragoons are full of plain cream cheese, no crab, carrots or a sauce. Prefer the HUNAN VERSION. Egg rolls taste as if they were frozen, not authentic at all. I ordered the Mongolian Beef, and it was waaaay too sweet for my palate. Tasted as if they used General Tsao's sauce on it. Needless to say, I'm not coming back. I got the beef lo mein. It doesn't have the flavors that you typically associate with lo mein. Lo mein is listed as lo mein/pad tai, so I'm not sure if that's part of the reason. I didn't like the dish and ended up throwing most of it away. The egg rolls are the same as the frozen ones many American Chinese places serve. The cream cheese ragons were not thr best, but they were not bad. read more

The side fried rice is not that awsome but everything else I have ordered has been as expected. Their butter chicken is a nice change of pace, but I would not order it for a full meal again. I've seen this place and wanted to try it for sometime. I had a taste for rice and Lotus was too long of a wait, so I decide to try this place. It was not good! The cashier was nice so that's why the extra star. I ordered combo rice and it was very dark, but bland! I've never had bland Chinese rice before. Tang's Kitchen is a new restaurant that opened up in the same shopping center as Marco's Pizza. For a Chinese restaurant, the interior was pretty trendy. We went on a Sunday for dinner. I started off with the steamed dumplings which were average. I also tried a little bit of the chicken wings appetizer and the chicken teriyaki appetizer which I liked a lot better. The teriyaki appetizer is actually chicken on a stick and I highly recommend it! For my main dish, I had the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken pretty much tastes the same at every Chinese restaurant so not much to report here. The only thing I would say is bigger pieces of chicken would have been nice. Portion size was generous overall though. Service was fine but we had one of those waiters who is overly friendly and talkative. We appreciate you being friendly and everything, but when you talk so much that it's like you've joined us for dinner, that's a bit much. read more

The food from this establishment is actually very good and reasonably priced. However, the customer service is subpar. On more than one occasion I've had the delivery driver an elderly man ask or question me about a tip. Last time I checked a tip is not legally required. Also the last time I checked tips are voluntarily and offered as a token of appreciation for a service rendered. Don't get me wrong I do tip and do tip reasonably good, but when I want and if the customer service is good. Not when I'm forced or because an establishment or individual feels entitled. read more

This place is new in Pearland located off Kirby and 518. It's right behind a gas station and Walmart. First off, this place is different a divey place to have dinner and talk casually in piece. It has a nice atmosphere to it and it definitely reminds me of an Asian restaurant you would find in Chinatown Houston. Service was great despite being there on a Sunday night. We ordered the Egg Drop Soup, sweet and sour chicken and the combination fried rice. 4/5 in food quality, service and what you expect from an Asian restaurant to satisfy your cravings. Every time I order from here it's always fresh !! They never get my order wrong or sometimes they give me more ,which I'm not case is never a problem !! I absolutely love this restaurant and the staff is always extremely friendly (super inviting) environment and owners and staff are always friendly and happy Very attentive and quick with deliveries. Just tried Tangs today because we received a menu flyer of them! Called in an order and was ready when I got there. Easy process and friendly staff. Ordered chicken in garlic sauce lunch and general tsos chicken. Both were yummy, good fresh flavor and a good lunch portion. I did get a wonton soup which I order wherever and I did not like it because of the taste of the broth. Tastes like tap water whereas other places doesnt have that flavor to their broth (probably use filtered water) Other than that it was great! read more

We got the lunch special: orange chicken with white rice & sweet and sour pork with fried rice, wanton soups, & egg rolls. I've been very disappointed by the food options in the area for Chinese-type food. Tang's Kitchen's food is very flavorful. My new favorite Asian food place in Pearland. I did just go this week and see they have a B Health rating (that's the only reason I have a 4 instead of 5). Hopefully they take care of that ASAP. We've had the orange chicken (hubby enjoyed). I've gotten the chicken lo mein (my kids like this one). Recently I tried their Broccoli beef and it was delicious. This is a great chinese restaurant to eat at in Pearland, TX. I was hesitant at first to give it a try since im always driving down on Kingsley Dr., and it seemed to be empty majority of the time. BUT i am so grateful that i did since i got to try their Honey Walnut Shrimp (which is my favorite), orange chicken, and eggplant and garlic sauce. This place also doesnt use MSG since I am slightly intolerant to MSG. They even gave a generous amount of rices and of the entree for togo.
