Its a pretty big restaurant with plenty of parking outside. It even has a full bar service. I called ahead to check their vegetarian options, in noodles they had only one , even that came with egg, but I asked them to substitute the egg for tofu. The girl at the counter and the one who spoke on the phone was very friendly and ready to help. She took me through the whole menu, I should come back for their dumplings sometime. Placed a to- go order and it took about 10 min for the order to come out , hot and fresh.. and did they add tofu- generous amount. Was really happy with the service. Happy with the food too. I would like to back and also hope for some more vegan vegetarian options to be added......

Hanh was our server and she was so sweet and attentive. I usually go to the one located on El Camino when I'm in the Clear Lake area. I didn't like this location's set up so much. I ordered the lunch shrimp with vegetables extra spicy with brown rice and hot and sour soup. I'm a connoisseur of hot & sour soup. My parents had a Chinese restaurant back in the 90's when quality and pride was made by my Dad as the master chef. 888 has been the closest to perfection. I love their chili paste they use rather than chili oil so I just added a spoonful for extra heat. 888 is great for a quick good portion lunch and reasonably priced with consistent quality and flavor of their food.

Crawfish were majority good size and I liked the flavor (the one without garlic in the description, I don't remember the name, but I usually lean more vietcajun and less garlicky anything). Glad to know they have other options that are just as good when the season is over!

The biryani packed a good amount of spice, which I personally loved. The chicken tikka masala was decent but pretty standard. The paneer dish, though, was definitely unusual and had a flavor that felt a bit off on its own, but it worked better when paired with rice. Prices were a bit on the higher side, especially for a more casual, hole in the wall kind of place. Our waitress said we should try more unique dishes next time. Overall, it's a good restaurant with an interesting, fusion menu. I'd come back to try other dishes and see what else stands out.

5 Stars - Authentic Szechuan that absolutely nails the classics…read more During our short trip to Houston, as a custom, we were determined to find real Szechuan food, and luckily we found Hu's Kitchen. The location is a bit unassuming, and parking is definitely tough (the spaces are very shallow), but the second we walked through the doors and smelled the Szechuan peppercorns, I knew we were in exactly the right place. I generally judge a Szechuan restaurant by their 夫妻肺片 (Fuqi Feipian)--which they cleverly name "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the menu. They completely nailed it. The beef, tripe, and tendon were incredibly cohesive together, yet you could tell each component was prepared and marinated in a slightly different way to perfectly highlight its specific texture. The chili oil was right on the spot. We went through a massive bowl of rice just eating this dish alone. Honestly, if I weren't feeding a family of four, I could have just ordered that and been perfectly happy. While the Fuqi Feipian proves their skill with dry dishes, the 水煮魚片 (Fish in Szechuan Hot Chili Oil) proves their skill with wet ones. It's another must-order. The execution was flawless--we didn't just finish the tender fish chunks, we ate every last piece of cabbage soaked in that incredible chili broth. For my two daughters who can't handle the heat, we ordered the fried rice, garlic pork ribs with onion, and the 紅燒獅子頭 (Giant Meatball with Cabbage). The giant meatball was spectacular. The kids completely devoured it on their own, but I managed to steal a bite, and it instantly brought back childhood memories of exactly how this dish is supposed to taste. We also had the Dan Dan Noodles, which were great and rounded out the meal perfectly. I loved all of the dishes we tried. Should we ever find ourselves in Houston again, we will absolutely be revisiting this hidden gem.
