Who knew I'd be eating pizza in Ireland? However, apparently, it's kind of popular in Killarney because there are at least 3 pizza places within 10 minutes walk.
We had just gotten off the plane + 3 hr train ride to get here. There weren't much food options available at 9pm, so we were delighted to find out that Tango was still open and serving. It was a bit hard to choose what we want, but the lady working at the cashier was so friendly and helpful.
We ended up choosing their N'duja & hot honey pizza. The portion size was actually shareable between 2 people. The crust was slightly thick, but the rest of the pizza was thin crusted so we were able to finish the whole thing ourselves (3 slices each). We did skip the crust part though. The crust was slightly too dry for my personal preference but everything else was perfect. The flavoring, the sauce, the texture. My friend still dreams about that pizza - I'm not exaggerating. We almost had pizza 3 times within one week because this experience made her crave pizza. The pizza wasn't spicy (for me), but I loved how the flavor balanced the honey, the sausage, the cheese, etc.
We also got their empanada to share because it looked really good from their display case. Their beef empanada apparently won an award, so of course that's what we chose. I LOVED the empanada filling; however, the exterior dough was too thick for me. If I give the empanada a 3/5, it wouldn't do it justice because the filling was the best I've had, so definitely do give it a chance.
Ambiance was pretty nice and relaxing. It had a cafe vibe despite also being a restaurant. Don't go too late though, because I think the kitchen closes at 9:30 here, so we made it just in time as the last batch of pizza to go through their fire oven. read more
