Our family of four really enjoyed dinner in this cozy spot. The service and food were terrific. We started with garlic bread and then each ordered pasta: one carbonara, one vodka, and two bolognese. Pretty good pizza spot tucked away in Killarney. Friendly staff and a real good Italian vibe when walking in. A small cozy place. Good lunch specials and the prices are pretty good for Killarney and the quality you're getting. Despite the pizza taking no more than five minutes to make I was surprised how good it was. It comes unsliced so you slice it up yourself w a pizza slicer. Pretty neat. The cheese and sauce quality is really good. Great ratio and although I wish the dough was a bit more cooked or a char at the bottom it was still good. It does have a big flop bc of that. I bet it heats up great for leftovers in the oven. This little Italian place is run by a couple from New Jersey. The food was fantastic. We had been eating at a lot of pubs and seafood places. My wife said she wanted pizza, so I found this place on yelp and very glad we did. The pizza was great! We all walked out very happy with our choice. Found this place on yelp, rated four stars. Nothing there stood out. The calamari had good flavor but the aïoli was as thick as soft butter. The sauce on my pasta tasted like plain tomato sauce out of a jar. The pizza was limp. read more

I am visiting from NY/NJ and we have pretty high standards for pizza and italian food. Angelo the owner greeted us when we arrived and turns out he is from Italy and has previously lived in NJ! What a find. The Parma pizza was delicious as well as the entrees. He even gave us a tour of the pizza oven and kitchen. Great spot when you want an alternative to traditional Irish fare. Wonderful host tried very hard to accommodate our boisterous party of 9. Food came out very quickly. Arrabbiata was quite spicy (which I enjoyed but others thought a bit too much) and pizza had great "tooth" but not as crispy as some preferred. Amazing authentic Italian cuisine! Wait staff (Debra the "Irish girl") amongst the owner from Sicily and two chefs from Naples bring a warm and inviting environment. The food is outstanding and the pizza is prepared in an impressive wood fired grill. The chef mentioned they use Ash wood as the fuel for the oven. Patio seating is very comfortable and they have cozy indoor seating as well with Italian music which makes you feel like your really in Italy! We tried this place based on the great reviews, but we were a bit let down. The pizza dough itself was very good and properly made in the brick oven. However, the toppings were not as good - many seemed as though they came from a can. We also had a nice, though unspectacular salmon dish. Overall, a solid meal, but not in-line with all the five star reviews. Also, they had a mystery €3 charge for what appeared to be tap water (albeit you get "free" refills). read more

I need to preface this by stating I'm from the US and may have different standards for food and service. First, we asked for tap water. When we went to pay, we were told they "don't have tap water" even though there was a sink with a water tap behind the register. Had the server informed us that there was a charge for the water, at least we would have been able to make an informed decision. Because she didn't, we just felt cheated. Second, my food did not arrive as ordered. When the server returned to see if everything was ok, I mentioned the error. She replied "oh " then quickly exited never trying to correct the issue. In the US you'd get an apology at minimum and an offer to correct the dish. Here, nothing. I'm not saying the place is bad, it's just not worthy of the five stars that many people awarded it. Don't expect it to be one of the best restaurants in town, because it's not. Maybe if they'd put a little more effort into excellent customer service, I'd have had a more satisfactory experience. read more

The little Italy is a quite authentic Italian restaurant. Since it opened just a few month ago the young stuff isn't perfectly trained and may forget some little things. But if you're aren't in a hurry it's not to bad and quite funny to watch. I had some bruschetta and a pizza. The bruschetta was amazing with many finely cut aromatic tomatoes, much finely cut (and not pressed) garlic and perfectly roasted bread. The pizza tasted very good and there was a nice amount of pepperoni on it. The dough was thin but extremly fluffy and baked on stone. The only problem with pizza is the extreme wide crust. There were like 5-8 cm oure dough on the outside of the pizza. Even though the dough is very tasty it's a bid too much crust. There is Carlsberg and Italian Peroni beer, but sadly only in 0,3l bottles. With draught beer and a bit less crust it would be 5/5, so it's 4/5 read more

Wandered past here during lunchtime and was welcomed with a sample of the barbecue they had cooking up on the sunny day. We sat down and had a the pasta of the day, a pizza and the bbq special. The three of us loved our food. The pasta was a large portion and perfectly cooked (so rare in any Italian restaurant) and the wood fired pizza was simply amazing. It was so good we returned for dinner that evening and this time I had the pasta and my partner had the pizza. It didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff and very welcoming. Great value too. We had already been in Ireland for two weeks and were craving Italian food when our B&B owner recommended Little Italy. Hidden away in a lane off of Killarney's bustling main business district, the restaurant is small but inviting. The owner/host is very friendly, and we talked about his birthplace in Italy and the journey that brought him to making wonderful pizza and pasta in western Ireland. My wife and I shared a pizza and pasta carbonara. It was wonderful. Trust me....I have eaten pizza from Naples to NYC, and this was fantastic. The pasta was great, pizza floppy, but the service killed it for me. We ate but when it came time to pay the owner forced us to put it on one card. After 10minutes if discussing it with him he complained that "we made his job harder" even though we paid his expensive prices. The water and refills cost extra money as well. Their food is just gorgeous and the classic genuine Neapolitan pizza is outstanding and by far the best in Killarney if not in all the south west.
