Piccolo Pizza is just a hole-in-the-wall pizza place in Killarney, but boy, can they make great-tasting pizzas. We ordered Hawaiian and sausage pizzas. They were both fresh and oven-hot. The crusts were nice and soft inside but crusty outside. It's too bad the pasta dishes were not as great. The pasta sauce tasted like it was from a can. My partner and I went here for dinner tonight after seeing how highly rated it is. It's definitely worth all of those ratings! This pizza was so delicious and reasonably priced. The people working here (possibly the owners?) are so friendly and sweet and were willing to make accommodations for dietary restrictions. I got the champignone pizza with no ham and my partner got the vegetarian pizza. We also finished with a tiramisu. The food came out super quickly and we got to watch it be baked in the oven. The dough was so fresh and crispy and the toppings were fresh and delicious. I loved my pizza so much and was sad when it was gone. We also got some garlic oil and fresh Parmesan to drizzle on top which only elevated the pizzas more. The tiramisu was heavenly and was exactly what I am craving when I'm craving tiramisu. The restaurant is small but cozy, off the Main Street a little so it's not too loud with the door open. There are five tables inside and a bar area along the wall so plenty of seating to choose from. Many people stopped in to order takeaway or called for delivery while we were here so it's clear they're popular. I loved eating here and would definitely come back. Excellent pizza in the heart of downtown Killarney! The pizza crust is thin and chewy with delicious toppings of your choosing. We had the vegetarian and between 2 of us finish the entire 14" pie. We decided to do takeaway pizza from Piccolo tonight for dinner and the 3 things we got, garlic cheese bread, margarita and carne pizza were all 3 amazing. The service was excellent and the pizza was ready super fast. The inside was super cute and they do have a small area where you can sit to eat. We would definitely come back. read more

Might be the best pizza in all of Ireland - maybe even anything west of NYC. After jaunting through Muckross, a 2 hour horseback tour of Killarney National Park and a walking tour of Ross Castle, we were exhausted and starving. Located not even a block from the public park, we spotted the pie sign. Staff was incredibly friendly and the pizza was truly the best I've had in a very long time. On about our 5th or 6th day on our 12 day coach tour, and our 2nd day in Killarney, we decided to take a break from the Irish food we had enjoyed every meal up to that point. So we wandered around Killarney, and came upon Piccolo, which looked like a nice little place. Clearly carry out is a big part of their business, but they did have a few tables out on the sidewalk, and also a few inside. We opted to eat inside, and went for the Tricolore pizza, and a couple glasses of wine. Service was great, and the folks working there were very friendly. the pizza and wine were very good, and we had our pizza very quickly after ordering. Pretty good pizza for Ireland. Hard to say if it's the best. Maybe in the area. Went in this past weekend. Service was friendly, place was clean and great decor and layout. Ordered a 12' cheese. Took roughly just under 10 minutes. Plenty of add ons like oil, ground pepper, chili flakes etc around the restaurant. It was good. No flop which is always good. Means good dough. Cheese and sauce were nice, could have used a bit more but was still good. I enjoyed it more than a few other pizza places in the area. I just felt it was missing something. We were looking for a good pizza place while we were in town for the night and a ice cream shop owner suggested we go to piccolos. He warned us that it was small but very good. His suggestion was definitely just as good as he suggested! The man making the pizza is from Naples Italy and made pizza like an artist! We pulled the 1 table close to the other widow seats so all 6 of us could share the 2 pizzas we ordered and we had great conversations with the guys working!
