I gotta say I struggle with writing a review for a place that I have only tried once, but seeing as…read morethis was in Ireland and I will probably not be back in awhile - I'm gonna go ahead and write it. I should note that this is owned by the man who owned the AirBnB that we stayed in and due to many problems with the home - he comped us dinner for the night which was appreciated. We also were a group of 13 and they are fairly new to being opened as I understand. The menu is good and we had a good variety of food at the table. Unfortunately I think that we were just too big of a group for one person - there was many little things that seemed to go wrong but which also affected the enjoyment of the food. I know that when I ordered - I had the burger and fries. I was very clear when I ordered that I liked ketchup and needed a lot of it and she assured me I would have it. I ordered the appetizer fries to come with my meal which were a parmesan truffle fry. I had to ask at least 3 times to get ketchup and was so frustrated because I had my meal for 25 minutes before any ketchup was brought - oddly they had delivered some to the opposite end of the table - but even then it was only 3 little dishes. I say this all the time - stop serving ketchup in those little containers and put it on the table for people to use as they see fit and not have to beg for it. Honesltly my burger was okay - but it was so cold by this time that I can't even really give a fair judgement of it. The truffle fries were also disappointing - just fries covered in parmesan - couldn't see any truffle oil or taste it. Several people in our group were very happy with their meals - but several of us were not. My brother was frustrated because he had also ordered soup and none was every brought. The big hit of the night was the espresso martini - they were delicious. We got desserts to go and again - some were very happy with them but most were not. I had a berry truffle if I remember right and it was honestly delicious. I think one of my siblings commented on how common the menu was appearing - many places seem to have a similar menu - it's like they are catering to travelers but it's also a little disappointing because they have replaced some American food to satisfy travelers but you struggle to find some of the basics that travelers are looking for as well - Irish stew, cottage/Shepard's pie, boiled ham and cabbage. While I appreciate the efforts there was frustrations in the food - at one point they were trying to deliver the food and it was very unorganized - the woman who had taken the order was not part of delivering it - so they would just come to the table and start asking who ordered the dish they were carrying - one was a side salad and I asked if it had French dressing (which had been requested) and after 3 times of going back and forth the person delivering the food said, 'sure, whatever when I asked if it was the one with French dressing. Appreciate that the meal was free but honestly I left feeling like if I lived there I would give them another try just to see if they could get past the hiccups that come with a new restaurant but it would not be for awhile and honestly I would hesitate to return.

We came out close to the Christmas holiday and were turned away initially because we didn't have a reservation. But we made a reservation for an hour later, went out for a bit of shopping and came back and we're seated so some planning ahead would be suggested. Lunch deal wasn't bad; an appetizer and main course for €20. It was a solid meal anyway.

This review is based on my second and most recent visit to this location. The first thing I have to applaud about this place is the modern and lush interior. It just makes you feel like you're dining at a private expensive lounge in some exotic country! The price is also quite commendable. It's usually about €15 for a two course meal during weekday lunch times every other time of the year but because it's Christmas, it's increased to €17 (much to my surprise, but it's only a small difference!) I love the fact that they serve you a jug of water while you're being seated so you don't have to ask for one. That gesture definitely saves some stress of having to wait for a server to attend to you before ordering. I have to admit I was a bit confused and weary about the whole "east meets west" theme they've got going on. In my mind, I was like "oh god, not another attempt to collaborate Asian and Western food". However, I soon realised in didn't make much of an impact of the quality of the food they serve. The menu is pretty much a mix of everything. During my visit, I decided to go for the honey bbq ribs for a starter and the chicken and veg pasta carbonara for my main. The starter was nice, nothing overly special. Just regular ribs. I would say a 3/5 as the portion was way too small and the flavour was quite bland in my opinion. Although when I received my main there was a mix up and I didn't have chicken in my pasta, it was quickly rectified (within 5-10 mins) and they were very apologetic. The carbonara was so creamy and flavourful, definitely a 5/5. I have to mention how quickly the food was out! The restaurant was quite busy when I went so I initially expected the wait to be longer than usual but I was gladly mistaken. I only had to wait about 10 mins for my starter to be served and then when my table was cleared, another maybe 15 mins (minus the mistake) for my main to be served. I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable meal out in Limerick. The menu is filled with variety and they have a good selection of drinks too. Two amazing courses during lunch for €15/€17,of course it's a must try!

It was gone 9pm when we got into Cruises and we were a tad worried they would have stopped serving food but the lovely waitress informed us that they we all good to go and quickly took our order of two Irish stews, a Guinness and a wine. The food came out quickly and pipping hot! It was everything we wanted it to be - plenty of meat, veg and 2 different types of potato! YES. My only negative would be that it needed a bit more juice to it. I ended up asking for some extra gravy but my gosh, I'm glad I did. Possibly the best gravy I've ever had. It was a rich, and thick red wine gravy. It was amazing and when mixed in with the stew, I was in true Irish heaven. Pass me the bread it's time to mop this up! Alex then fancied a dessert and opted for the crumble. I had a spoonful or two and I must say it was very nice. Not usually my kind of dessert but it was sweet and the ice cream creamy. Very nice. The pub itself is very traditional Irish, they had live music playing and the atmosphere and decor was warming with the dark woods and warming fire. Lovely. Overall we had a lovely evening and the bill came to just €35. Bargain.

Also the crowd is slightly older as most of the young ones head into the nightclub. Well worth a visit when in ennis

I, colleagues and family have frequented the cafe often but will never go again. I was simply shocked by how Cinnamon Alley is run/managed of late as witnessed in the recent free for all described below. The following issues occurred simultaneously and combine to warrant this review: 1. Toilets were dirty and not maintained. Major "no-no" anywhere and possibly a forgivable offense - however, the place was not busy and there were 5-6 staff working and many were idle. 2. While in the cafe (30 minutes in total) one customer was over charged and another not charged enough. Simple error, long day, people make mistakes. 3. Another customer was treated impatiently and with an attitude/air from the staff of "I don't want to be here - order already" (someone had a bad day - NEVER let that show to a customer) 4. The tables were not cleaned between customers who had to pile dirty dishes on to other tables.(unacceptable) Up to that point I was not in a mindset to critique. I know the food industry first hand - staff have bad days, accidents happen, tables get overlooked... but there was more: 5. The most dramatic event came when a group of 6-8 secondary school girls - in blue school unifor -and school bags bursted noisily into the cafe in pack formation and stormed into the food prep area, behind the counter and into the kitchen, talking, touching food perp areas, grabbing at items being the counter all in front of customers as staff passed a blind eye. I looked, and waited and looked for a manager/shift leader, - anyone with common sense to step forward and remove the girls from behind the counter but nothing. The pack of girls treated the business premises as their own kitchen with no adults around, let alone public customers. They were all so "at home" that it was extremely rude and offensive. 6. I was further shocked to see one of the young schools girl's in school uniform and backpack swan into the cafe, behind the counter, pick up some food (no hand washing, no gloves) proceed into the kitchen, back out and in front of two customers attempt to open the till to get cash! How inappropriate for customers to witness. (I appeared that the girl was related to the owner but I can not confirm) The girls actions were still unforgivable by management. Overall, nobody was running the ship, it was adrift and ragged. The food quality has slipped and the service, which was never great - was abyssal and carried out by drones rather than worked who had any respect for the job, the management or themselves. I am so saddened as I like the idea of the local business very much and would do anything to support local. However, I felt compiled to voice this opinion in the hope that management wake up and take note of how loose the place has become. There were too many staff present for such negligence.
