Amazing pad thai
Michelle C.

I read about Aroi in an Independent article when I was doing research on Limerick. I love Thai food, and was excited to try this well-reviewed restaurant. It did not disappoint! We started with the calamari, which actually got dropped off at the same time as our mains. Ask for dishes to be coursed, if that's what you prefer. The calamari had a crunchy coating that reminded me of fried chicken. It was delicious! Also delicious was the shrimp pad thai. Hands down the best pad thai I've ever eaten. There was a mountain of it, and I did some solid work. There were tons of shrimp, plus teeny tiny dried shrimp which added incredible flavor. My sister had a different noodle dish with pork, and she loved her meal as well. I was bummed that they were out of Singha, my go-to Thai beer, but I put down a couple Tigers pretty easily. All together, our dinner came to about 35 euro, which was great. If I'm ever back in Limerick I will make it a point to hit Aroi for lunch or dinner!

Pad mei something something tasty.

Clean and fresh decor, friendly staff reasonable prices and city centre location. There's a diner feel to the decor and classic rock ballad music is the order of the day. Asian fusion your jam? This is a great spot for something casual cheap but fun in city centre. I will remember to comeback here next time I'm in the city, if it lasts.

Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand . Had to wait 20 mins for table but fast, friendly service once seated.

Asian Tea House - Miso Soup

Asian Tea House

My wife and I were looking for a place to get tea while visiting Galway and stumbled upon the Asian…read moreTea House, but to our surprise it wasn't open until 5pm, which is a bit unusual for a place only serving tea. To our surprise, despite the name, this was a full-fledged restaurant and bar. So, we found another tea house to spend the early afternoon, and returned that evening for dinner. Upon return, inside we were greater to a very ornate Asian aesthetic inside. Not only did they have a decent selection of Asian teas, but also a rather expansive dinner menu. We were each given a small jasmine tea to start, which was cold brewed (rare to see!) and quite flavorful. I ordered Shredded Duck Noodles for the entree which were delightful. The noodles themselves were very well flavored and chewy. On top of this, there was a surprising amount of duck throughout the dish. Typically you see the protein being skimped on, but not the case here. The asian veggies mixed throughout were a welcome addition as well Overall, it was a great vibe, great selection, and great food. If you enjoy Asian cuisines, you wouldn't be going wrong here.

Lovely little tea house and restaurant, and one of the few places that we were able to find on our…read moretravels with asian teas (without being mixed with fruits or herbs too). I ordered black bean beef with tumeric rice. It was a generous portion, with a good amount of very tender beef. I had asked for the peppers that normally comes with the stir fry veggies to be replaced with asian vegetables, and I think I got a few scraps of bok choy and Napa cabbage in the mix. Most of the veggies ended up being scallions and onions. I also ordered one of the Pu-erh teas, as this is supposed to be a strong tea and can steep for a long time in very hot water without turning sour or bitter. While the tea was stronger than most of the teas I've had during my vacation in Ireland, it was still quite a lot weaker than expected. We asked for more leaves to be added to the pot but either they didn't actually add any, or didn't add enough to make a difference in the flavor. Overall a decent restaurant, would recommend to anyone looking for Asian cuisine.

If pictures speak 1000 words, feast your eyes on these four pictures…read more I'll write a few words, anyway. My wife and colleague (Vietnamese from LA) sat at the bar since the place was full.  Be sure to make reservations, especially on a Saturday night.  The vegan friendly menu, deliciously crafted cocktails, and exquisitely prepared Asian fare with strong emphasis on fresh and local ingredients make this the perfect restaurant.  Dishes are cooked as traditionally as possible while everything from the cocktails to the appetizers have their roots based in Asian techniques and flavors.  Lime has the swank of New York City, the unassuming attitude of London, Asian diversity found in San Francisco, taste you'd expect of a restaurant in Singapore; perhaps most importantly....the affable Galway charisma.  Pearse will wow you with his masterful bartender swagger as he mixes top notch cocktails and Conner the maitre d' (man of the house, manager) will charm you with his hospitable, classy demeanor.  They make the atmosphere very fun and inviting in the front of the house meantime the Malaysian chef and Thai sous chef work their magic behind the scenes.  You're reminded often that you and your sense are their priority. Make it a point to visit them. Vlad
