A fab creole / Cajun restaurant in Galway. They're serving up fab cornbread and sweet potato fries. The prawns I had for starter and main were lovely. I was just disappointed that they didn't have beignets for dessert otherwise it would have been a five! read more

Was not impressed. Wavered between 1 and 2 stars. Service was poor. Sat on the terrace which was lovely - but - we were the only ones sitting there (not many people at the restaurant that night) and the waitress kept forgetting about us. Being American, I am biased having been to real Creole/BBQ restaurants. The ribs were ok - the rest...meh. Cornbread was quite gross and not really cornbread. It's too bad, it's on a nice "foodie" street - the brunch menu looked compelling and maybe that is better. read more

The food was excellent - so full of flavour! Three of us each tried a different dish - New "Awlins" chicken was extremely tasty, served with salad, refried beans, and smokey corn on the cob. The battered Catfish and fries was fresh and delicious, and the Blackened Catfish, served with "dirty rice" was mouthwatering! We had starters, sides, and a dessert to share, however the main dishes really steal the show at this restaurant! The table was a little bit small to seat 3, but we did enjoy a cosy meal and the service was good. Four stars! read more

I had the best time ever here. I have been in Galway for 2 weeks now & I haven't gotten the best luck with good food & after eating here I 100% recommend. The staff were amazing! My boyfriend & I were extremely satisfied with the service, the food & we also got to watch the Rugby game! All around a great time read more

Had been looking forward to trying Creole for a while but ultimately my gf and I were let down. I had the jambalaya which was fine but overpriced for the size of the serving and what it was. We both ordered cornbread as sides, they came as queen cakes really which was fine but my gf's were burnt, one quite a bit. My gf's meal on the other hand was quite poor. She ordered the half ribs and chicken board, which came with a small portion of beans, very small (quarter of an ear) corn and chips. This was not the point of the meal however so that's understandable. However both meat portions were very bland, having only been coated in sauce after cooking. The ribs were particularly poor; they were quite burnt at the edges but paradoxically were undercooked, remaining pink and rather tough. The silverskin underside of the ribs had not been removed which also contributes to toughness and illustrates a lack of cooking knowledge on the chefs part. read more

Food was good, wine list satisfactory, poor, disorganized service. That was a shame because they seemed to be accommodating, yet never really followed through. For example, forgot to bring wine with the appetizer. That was fine with us, but also forgot to bring cooler for the white wine which eventually got there. Couldn't find our other restaurant so stopped in here for a pleasant surprise! Was a little nervous because we were the only ones there at 1900 but were tired of walking around (turns out we were 50 meters from our hoped for place!). We both went hard core cajun, me with etouffe, my wife with the special, which was a blackened salmon. Mine was nicely spiced, good texture and meaty, she thought it was one of the better pieces of salmon she's had! Yes, we were both hungry, tired and tired of Irish food; but, still ... it was good! Yes, the cornbread wasn't edible, which is funny given all the easy recipes out there to bake up! Service was funny, not sure it is her first profession, but she was sweet and did turn off the horrible fuzzy pop radio "background" blaring music for us. read more
