    Steak and prawns

The steak was good. Not amazing, but was good. The prawns were cooked perfectly. The garlic butter sauce was too much for me. It was really heavy compared to the prawns. The bruschetta was WONDERFUL! The best thing I had. That was worth coming for alone.

My friend had this seafood dish - loved it!

We were amazed to find a table available on such short notice and were very grateful for the kind attentive service! The menu was interesting. I settled on the surf and turf tacos and the rocket salad: they were each absolutely delicious! We also shared the chips, slaw with cashews and buttered greens sides family-style and between us all we finished everything! The tacos were exceptional: fresh breaded and fried shrimp on spiced shredded brisket! Such an elegant twist to an American favorite: BBQ!

Small order of duck wings and the goat cheese tart

Really good food and nice atmosphere. The duck wings were amazing and I wish I was local so I could go back on a regular basis. The goat cheese tart was a little disappointing but the wings more than made up for it.

Stopped in Galway on our way back from the Cliffs and this looked like a cute modern spot to grab a bite. The person who greeted us was a bit rude - told us to wait, meanwhile a server walked up right after him and grabbed two menus and seated us right away. The same snippy man (thin with glasses) whom we met first came to take our drink orders. I asked him if the prawns were small shrimp or large ones that are similar to small lobsters & he was a bit condescending. He said, "Not to be rude but prawns are shrimp." I have travelled to many countries, and prawns can be rather large. Likewise, lobsters are not always similar to the ones in the US - they are large prawns. Varies by country/location. We ordered the surf & turf and as expected, the lobsters were large prawns, or small lobsters. For those of us from the US, they are not the traditional lobster. I had asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare and came out well done. Inedible. I now realize this is the Irish way but took me two attempts to understand - never order steak in Ireland if you want it cooked properly. They KILL the meat. And he forgot my cocktail so when our entrees came, I had to ask for it. Food delivery is really slow. If you're in a rush, don't bother. Tiny memo - they put the steak knife and lobster tools on the plate (under the food - see pic) so once you received it - they were covered in lobster and steak juices. Might be better to set the silver/tools on the table or hand to customers. The POSITIVE: the duck wings are delicious. Best thing on the menu. The lobster was fresh - just needed some lemon. The servers were great & more than helpful. The snippy one might be a manager - if he is that shouldn't be the case. He's a pill.

    Great lobster roll and service!

First time visiting Galway and happened to walk into Beef & Lobster. Great food and service!

    Nice sign.

Beef & Lobster, located in Galway Ireland, was the first restaurant on my vacation here after over a week of trying that I walked out of thinking I would definitely want to come back again some time and would recommend it to others. In addition to having a open, clean, and chic atmosphere, guests can come in casual attire and feel comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The food is very good. A stand out dish was their "hot and spicy duck wings" appetizers which were extremely flavorful and served like buffalo wings but with a tangy sort of Asian bbq glaze that was both unlike anything I have had before and a interesting dish. I ordered the lobster roll for my main course which is a Warm Toasted Brioche with Cold Lobster Meat in a Light Citrus Mayo with Cucumber, Mango and Red Pepper Salad. The brioche was a bit too toasted and crunchy, and the lobster meat would have been better warm and deeper into the roll but was displaced by the salad element. However, the butter was served separately and once applied warmed up the meat and soaked into the brioche softening it a bit and the flavors were all there and on point. Really enjoyed it. My wife had the Extra Large Lambay Island Crab Claws and King Prawns in Chili, Garlic and Coriander Butter Sauce. I tried one and it was also delicious. There were no bad orders in our meal. Nothing we regretted getting or eating. Prices were a bit high but not overly so considering this is a tourist area and the food is high quality seafood and steak. Pre tip, our meal was in the mid 60 euro range which seemed an appropriate price point to me considering I have paid much more for much worse. If you are looking for some really good surf and turf with a nice atmosphere and reasonable price point in Galway, go here. You will be happy you did.

Filet & king prawns in garlic butter. Green beans. Baked potatoes

Only open less than a month, I would say Galway has another amazing restaurant to add to its roster. Although not serving beers (yet-liquor license still coming) that did not distract from a wonderful night for my wife and I. Fresh Irish crab was the appetizer we shared. Not large but a very tasty opener. We then both selected the surf and turf combo of Filet & King Prawns in garlic butter. Both steaks were amazing. Cooked to order. Mine medium and my wife's burned (I mean Well Done) Not sure what the definition of "king prawns" is in Ireland, but this American would call it "shrimp". Average size. Very tasty. Garlic butter awesome and was poured over the potatoes. The sides. Green beans (very fresh) & baked potatoes (sadly light on the sour cream & chives) Then dessert. Build your own cheesecake. Wonderful. We selected Nutella chocolate, Oreo crumbs & Reese's Cups. Each item arriving in its own container. (Idea for the restaurant- need a knife or something slender to help get all the amazing Nutella out of the container -- better yet --warm it up a bit before serving ) Service was attentive. Unlimited ice water a nice touch and we would definitely come back.

Great steak, tender and delicious. We ordered the filet and the tomohawk , both pretty good. The meat was soft and perfectly cooked.

But the staff gracious sat us at our reserved table and handed us a few hand towels to notionally dry ourselves. We ordered the hake with mussels, scallops and the trio of crème brûlée. It was all absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this bistro if you're in Galway and looking for a nice mealtime experience. The venue was packed. So we're not the only ones to think so.

We ordered the crab dip (very small portion, and it tasted like imitation crab meat), the steak was overcooked with little flavor; the side of veggies tasted like they cooked them in butter and oil (no hint of salt). The drink was horrible and I'm not one to send things back, but I'm not sure how a lemon drop martini ends up tasting like watered down lemonade. The oysters were okay and they make a good home made mignonette, but there was no hot sauce or horseradish provided. Maybe it's an Irish thing, but room temperature oysters are off-putting. The service was terrible, but our waitress was likely working the bar as well. She definitely forgot about us for a solid 20 minutes after she took our plates and verified that we didn't want anything else. I do not recommend this place. Pros: The ambiance was beautiful and it's quiet enough to have a conversation. I gave 1 star for the aesthetic.

We didn't have reservations but the restaurant was able to seat us at the bar. For drinks, it's wine and beer. They do have some liquor. Reading previous reviews highlighted an amazing cocktail, but the manager said they do not serve cocktails. They can do things like gin and a bottle of tonic. We opted for a bottle of Riesling. We started off with complimentary soda and Guinness bread and butter. You could taste the freshness! My husband and I ordered the seafood chowder. One of our favorites in Ireland. For dinner, my husband ordered the seared tuna which was a special for the evening. I ordered the pan seared seabass. Our meal came with a side of potatoes too. His seared tuna was so good! There was calamari along with a vegetable. My seabass was so good. It came with potatoes and corn. Most fish we have come across in Ireland was fried so it was nice to have so many pan seared options. The dessert menu looked great but we were pretty full. I took a peek just in case. Chill vibes which is way different compared to the rowdiness of the Latin quarters.
