    White chicken sandwich and fries

First time visiting Limerick and found this nice lunch spot along the water. Great views sitting across the street by the river. We had the white chicken sandwich and the Mediterranean veggie wrap. Both were fine for lunch. I'd skip the cheese on the wrap next time. VERY fast service. Seating and ordering was easy, we just picked a table with a number, then ordered inside and let the staff know our table number.

The food here was excellent. We enjoyed the Wild Mushrooms on Toast VERY much! Then we shared the Steak and Ale Pie which was also delicious. The music and dancing added wonderfully to our experience. The cider was great and the cocktail of the month was a fantastic change of pace. Service was good and we felt like our money was well spent.

    Inside the pub

Lots of gluten-free options, including dessert, which is rare. Friendly, not too crowded, good selection of food items and good music -- even an Irish dancer. Also outside seating and it's a beautiful day. And the match is on the TV.

Wanted a quick bite for a brief stop on the road and to see a bit of the town. Well the good food was a huge bonus surprise!!! The location is wonderful / lots of locals seemed to lunch here. You can sit outside on the river or inside the pub. Great vibes and service. But. The. Food. Omg I was wanting to try the meat and ale pie everyone raved about and was not at all disappointed! The flavors tasted like a home cooked meal on a Sunday night. The puff pastry was sooo light. It was downright perfect but I couldn't finish and I was sharing it! But we also shared the best fish and chips we have had all week in Ireland. WELL DONE Locke Bar!!!

    Seafood chowder

The seafood chowder is the best! Loved the live music and woman dancing! Perfect vibe in Ireland!

My first pub in Ireland! We came in on a Saturday night around 9PM not expecting it to be as busy as it was. We originally came to try some food and drinks but ended up just ordering a few drinks and stood near the bar listening to some live music and dancing. I had my first Guinness & the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely a great experience for our first night out.

Classic pub but also a very good restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips and the 28 day dry aged steak, and I really enjoyed both entrees. The fish is covered in a thick batter, and is fried to a really crispy layer. The chips (fries) and thick and crispy. The dry aged ribeye really blew my mind. Medium rare cooked to perfection, soft, chewy, delicious. The Bearnaise sauce was great and had a strong peppercorn flavor that complemented the steak really well. I wish there was a larger beer selection -- Guinness is not a bad choice in Ireland -- but the whiskey collection is quite large. Really love the history and the pub vibes, and the food was amazing!

Truly the best fish and chips in Ireland! The seafood chowder and chicken pie were also amazing. Be sure to have an Irish coffee as well.

We stopped here for lunch during our visit to Ireland and it was wonderful! It's what we pictured when we thought of an authentic pub experience. The dark wood, vintage advertisements, and carved bar were wonderful to look at. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Even though it was busy, we never felt like we were forgotten. The food was great! We tried the soups in every restaurant we visited on our trip and this was one of the best!

I had such a great time at The Locke Bar. When we walked in, a lot of the tables were full but we saw 2 gentleman leave and gave their table to us. All the waitresses and waiters were so friendly, nice, and patient. Though there were a lot of people, they continued to smile and didn't let that stress them. There was great live Irish music and some dancing as well. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the steak and ale pie. I know shrimp tacos aren't typically part of the Irish cuisine, but they were so delicious. The shrimp was flavored really well and they were good size pieces. My husband really enjoyed the steak and ale pie. The puff pastry was so light and flaky. For dessert, we had the warm homemade sticky toffee pudding and the homemade ice cream. Both were mouthwatering. I definitely recommend coming in and checking this place out, even if it's for a drink.

Best fish and chips of my life, wonderful tradition irish bar with planked wood floors and Irish clogging on the weekends with live music!

Great place to stop on for a pint or drink. The castle is just across the street. Very busy though, but fast service.

Food was yummy. It was cozy with a small coal fireplace, there are several bars, service was quick, Guinness pours were perfect.

This was my favorite restaurant because of the AMAZING seafood. The raw oysters were super fresh and it was fun getting to see the manager show us how to shuck oysters (he used to compete in oyster shucking contest and was ranked pretty high!). The steamed mussels and crab claws were also delicious. Ending the meal with cheesecake was great! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you are visiting a friend's home for a nice meal. Highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you are in the area and are looking for amazing seafood!

People after us were directed to the bar for open seating. The seafood chowder was rich and filling. Mixed oyster plate came with three Gigas and three natives (5 years to grow) but we couldn't agree on which was the best. Moran's featured half a dozen different cold platters and we ordered the smoked salmon which consisted of plate sized slices topped with a salad and a scoop of crab. The Marie rose dressing was delicious and made this salad one of our favorites of this trip. Lastly their Irish soda bread was the best we've eaten and wished we could've gotten a loaf to take with us. The good service, great food and eclectic ambiance made for a nice Easter Sunday meal.

We ordered the crab dip (very small portion, and it tasted like imitation crab meat), the steak was overcooked with little flavor; the side of veggies tasted like they cooked them in butter and oil (no hint of salt). The drink was horrible and I'm not one to send things back, but I'm not sure how a lemon drop martini ends up tasting like watered down lemonade. The oysters were okay and they make a good home made mignonette, but there was no hot sauce or horseradish provided. Maybe it's an Irish thing, but room temperature oysters are off-putting. The service was terrible, but our waitress was likely working the bar as well. She definitely forgot about us for a solid 20 minutes after she took our plates and verified that we didn't want anything else. I do not recommend this place. Pros: The ambiance was beautiful and it's quiet enough to have a conversation. I gave 1 star for the aesthetic.
