The food here was some of the best I had my week in Ireland. I had a Korean chicken salad. Delicious flavors; mildly spicy sweet. Husband had Diane's chicken and that was delicious, too. Food was very good and the desserts (sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble) were excellent. Had dinner here at this great pub next to our hotel with a fairly large group from work. Large choice of local beers and Guinness and American beers. I'm don't normally nitpick about service in my reviews or give a one star review because of some small oversight. But our service experience here was supbar. We stopped in for lunch after touring Bunratty Castle. The food was mostly good - fish and chips and salads were tasty, the Irish Stew was watery and not to our taste. We ordered dessert which never came and it was a long struggle to find somebody to pay the bill. My entire group had left to go shopping and I'm sitting there waiting for literally 30 minutes with no service. We did mostly enjoy the food. One other thing that we don't understand... they have a sign outside that says "The Creamery Bar. Food served all day." Located in the centre of Bunratty (if that's possible in this quaint little village). The inside is quite open and brights. The staff were polite and not exactly friendly unlike the other places here in Bunratty. I ordered garlic battered mushrooms for started which was a good sized portion and tasty including a nice side salad. For main I had fish and chips of course. Looked amazing with the side of tartre sauce and minted mushy peas. The taste was unfortunately only mediocre despite its amazing looking appearance. The edges of the fish was overlooked and the chips were chewy. For desert I look the rhubarb tarte and custard. Again well presented but was warm at best, both custard and pie. Nice touch of the iced water brought immediately to the table as I sat down. Although technically nothing wrong with the place, and only 4 main restaurants here in Bunratty I will not return here unlike I would with J C Clarke's close by. read more

Directly across from Bunratty Castle you'll find The Creamery. When I first saw the name, I have to admit I thought it was an ice cream parlor. Don't get me wrong , you can get ice cream on the desert menu along with a decent sticky toffee pudding. The Creamery is first and foremost a pub that occupies a building that has, at least in parts, been around for quite awhile. Since it was cold and wet outside, we started with a hot whiskey that was well prepared. We opted for the t-bone special at just under €20.00 that came with chips and coleslaw. All were delicious. Located across from Bunratti castle in Shannon Ireland. My first visit here but the person that brought me here is a regular. He comes here every time he's in town and that's been about 10 years. Atmosphere: Very traditional Irish pub. Interesting decor. Great for families or couples. Menu: A variety of choices to satisfy any taste buds. I got the fish and chips and it was delish. My friend got the lamb stew, which is his favorite. For dessert I got the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and my friend got the creme brûlée. The creme brûlée was absolute amazing with a crunchy topping and the cheesecake was made to perfection. Not too rich or too sweet but perfect. Kudos to the chef!! Went here on my last day in Ireland with a family of 5 (including me.) I had the chicken curry w/chips. Was not disappointed; I'd never had curry before this, but I really enjoyed it. They served me an enormous portion. Staff were meh in terms of service which is why there's not a fifth star. Overall this place was a good stop. The waitstaff although friendly, it was unclear who our server was but multiple people asked if we needed anything and would take an order for us. The food was good and it was clean. The fish and chips were the best part. The fish had a delicious crispy fry to it. This is a typical Pub style eatery in Bunratty, surrounded by a few others varying in price and serving. I came in and ordered the Grille Sea bass from the specials menu with a side of potatoes and vegetables. What showed up on the table was disappointing. I'm almost certain the fish wasn't actually sea bass, the mashed potatoes faired no better than a high school lunch cafeteria and those "vegetables" definitely came from a frozen bag. We went to the Creamery on the advice of many of the locals and yelp. As tourists from the States, we figured it would be a decent place. I was frankly disappointed at the service and fare that we received. While the location is ideal, directly across from the Bunratty Castle, the food falls very short. I had the John Dory, which was a special at the time. While the fish was fine, nothing incredible, but still decent, the mashed potatoes and the vegetables that came with it were extremely sub-par. The vegetables tasted like they came from a can, and the mashed potatoes were very dry. My sister had the fish cakes, which she claimed were virtually inedible. The service was meh. GREAT service, good pint, locals and tourists. Didn't have any food, but they were serving a lot of it. The bartenders were great, offering me the newpaper to read and keeping my pint of Guinness filled. Sat next to a local named Doc. He was well known and the bartenders took very good care of him. This place is great!! The service is super friendly and so accommodating. I had the lamb chops and mash. Super delicious and the lamb was perfectly cooked. I also tried their desert (chocolate cake) and really enjoyed it. Thankfully, it wasn't too sweet. Pretty good food. A bit of a touristy restaurant. Reminds me of BJs restaurant in San Bruno, but with way better food. Also I ordered the trout but they gave me salmon. It was good nonetheless so I didn't complain. The lamb shank was delicious. The only €€ restaurant that serves it that I know of so far over here in Ireland. The apple pie, also delicious. This is a very casual restaurant directly next to Bunratty Castle Hotel, so very convenient to eat there. Menu sounded good, so we gave it a shot. Two ordered the Irish Stew which they said had good flavor, but the lamb was tough. Two ordered the Creamery burger which is 2 patties with optional toppings. Both people said it was like eating shoe leather because they were so over cooked. One ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. There was very little lettuce, but lots of croutons, and the chicken, like the burgers, was very over cooked, so very dry. Another got the steak sandwich. The steak was very over done and tough. It had shriveled up to be nowhere near the size of the bun. It comes standard with grilled mushrooms and onions, but it was requested the mushrooms be left off. It appears they must be a package deal because it came without the onions too. The mashed potatoes were good, as were the French fries. The cole slaw is very creamy, with an almost over abundance of mayo. If you enjoy your food very well-done, this is the place for you. If, however, you like some flavor left in your meat, I highly suggest you try another location. read more

Stopped in here the night before our flight out of SNN since where we were staying was swamped with a wedding. Decent Pub food of Shepard's Pie and very good Sea Trout. We were needing a place to eat a late lunch after being out in the rain at Bunratty castle and chose this over Durty Nellie's based on the Yelp reviews. We ordered the chicken coujons (tenders) to start. They were cooked well but didn't really have a ton of seasoning. I ordered a pizza with ham and pineapple and the husband got the chicken tikka sandwich. The pizza was good but either the dough or the ham (entirely too much ham to pineapple ratio) was way too salty. The chicken tikka sandwich just didn't have great aromatic flavor and had too much cheese. The fries were fries. Nothing spectacular or worth visiting again. read more

We just had drinks and snacks in the bar area, but given the fact that the place was busy during the hurling final game the service was excellent and we enjoyed the game. Best thing: after we returned to our hotel my wife discovered that she misplaced her expensive mouth retainer. We retraced our steps to the Creamery. Our waitress was still there, heard what we were looking for, and dug through trash for us. Then the manager saw what we were doing and remembered picking up the retainer off the ground and putting it into one trash can. He dug in and found it! This deserves lots of kudos. read more
