This place was hoping and well managed. I came in during rush hour with my son asking for a table of five (who were not with us yet). The manager got us a seat at the bar, and we each tried a whisky flight. When the rest of the crowd showed up, we got a nice table and had a wonderful dinner. read more

I know from experience that a drooling-face emoji does not meet the character requirement for yelp, so... holy moly this place is fantastic. A little pricey but so worth it! We had the whipped goat cheese starter, lamb main, and leak, butternut squash cannelloni mains. All were worth a repeat... and if the lamb and cannellini happen to be your selections, I HIGHLY recommend combining the two. We thank you, baby lamb, for your delicious sacrifice. The lamb was very good. My wife had the prawn appetizer which we were told would have 6 prawns, but only had 4. The brownie desert was the best I've ever had. The wine selection is not great, but that is the case for most places we have been in Ireland. This is nice place to visit and i was fortunate to be able to watch Monday Night Football on their tvs while we were there. read more

Blake's corner bar Should be called Blake's we don't need your business we tried ringing Blake's to book a table on a Wednesday night in February could not get anyone to answer the phone So we decided to try a walk in bad idea after walking in the rain to check this establishment out we arrived at 8.30 pm on Wednesday night in February it looks like bar is half empty great we think how wrong we were after been met by our host to be told they have no tables available I asked her could she repeat what she said No tables available we thanked her for her hospitality and left and we will never cross Blake's door again They obviously don't need customers in Blake's after 8.30pm in February Very poor customer service read more

Came here after checking into our hotel. It was rainy (obvious detail?) and my husband and I needed something to warm us up for a light lunch. There was plenty of room at the bar and we took two seats. The rugby match was on and it felt like a great place to come for sports watching. My husband got the seafood chowder and I got the smaller cheese board and fries (alt: chips). My husband loved his soup and the cheese board was delicious with a great presentation. The warm goat cheese salad is incredible! I was honestly blown away by how good it was and by the quality. I ordered the entree sized salad, with some added chicken. The goat cheese is local and it was truly amazing. Melty on the edges near the rind, more firm in the middle. The service was also great, the bartenders were very friendly. read more

We ate here because my kid only eats chicken goujons and chips in Irish restaurants. I love seafood and I ordered the mussels. Let me tell you the broth was off the hook. I could eat this regularly as a hot soup. I order this dish often and don't remember broth that good for a very long time. A little disappointed it wasn't served with brown bread, but I didn't need it. Galway oysters were fresh and delicious, but briny for my taste. Our family came here after Easter Mass, as visitors from NYC, and from the outset got fabulous, fast service. The coffee is delicious, the scones are perfect. Our kids enjoyed pasta from the kids menu and we adults loved the fresh lamb au jus and the omelet with ham and cheese. Great atmosphere in the bar! My favorite bar in Galway. Food is FANTASTIC and the service is impeccable. The staff really make you feel at home. Wide variety on the menu ranging from sandwiches to cheese boards to fresh made soups. The Seafood Board is delicious and so are the Chicken Satay Skewers. You will not be disappointed! read more

My fiancé and I were on vacation from the US and were visiting Galway for the day. We randomly decided on Blakes bar and our waiter for the evening was James. James made the best Bailey's coffee coffee and even customized an order on the menu for my fiancé. James is very friendly and very attentive even better than waiters in the United States!! James made our experience at Blakes bar amazing. We would recommend this bar and their hospitality to anyone in the area. The food was great and the drinks were better. We plan on returning next time we're in Galway. read more
