Smoked Chicken Caesar
Shawn A.

Stopped in for lunch in while we made a quick stop in Galway. We were a bit early for lunch, but they seated us and brought us coffee and tea while we waited for the switch over from breakfast to lunch. It was a very cool little cafe and the staff was fantastic. They had to go and print the lunch menu for us, which we were happy to wait for. My wife had the Caesar salad. She loved that the chicken had been smoked and the bacon chunks, yes chunks, were great. The salad was refreshing and exactly what she had hoped for. I got the Chicken Parmigiana, which I rarely get because it is offered so many places and this wasn't an Italian place. Well, I am glad I did. It was outstanding. The chicken was juicy and the crust was excellent. I liked that they used linguine as the pasta and the sauce was flavorful. This was a great find!

Absolutely Amazing!!!! This restaurant has it all... Let's start with the food... Fresh squeezed Orange juice ...brilliant coffee ...A Proper Delicious Irish breakfast that had so many amazing and unique flavors complimenting each other . French toast like I've never tasted before light fluffy yet soufflé like . Fresh fruit and real maple syrup ..Just wow . Very chic and quite beautiful decor nice soft music while you are lifted away with each heavenly bite . Vikki (owner and chef) and her lovely daughter and son are so genuine and sweet . Real Gems . This place is a MUST if you are anywhere near .... My only regret is I found this at the end of my amazing Irish journey . WE WILL BE BACK!!

The vegan tacos were off the charts good! The loaded fries are addictive....LOL! According to my mom and sister, the wagu beef burger has been the best they have had this far in our Ireland excursion! I appreciate how much effort the staff put into understanding "okie" English! Establishment was very clean and festive!

Cheesecake is to die for

Absolutely delicious food, I would 1000% recommend. The service was great, I came with a big group of people, but nonetheless the staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Not to mention it is a very beautiful restaurant, and it's quite clean. Please eat here, it's absolutely wonderful

The food here is DELICIOUS! The Full Irish breakfast is big enough to share, but you might not want to. The French toast are also very tasty, best French toast I've had. Also, the waiters are very attentive to your needs and made amazing recommendations. I look forward to coming back.

Just off High Street enough to be quiet and quaint. Great wine selection, starters were great and the fish and pasta were on point! Highly recommend if looking for great food and a cool atmosphere.

The words lovely, charming, friendly and delicious come to mind when I think of Caprice Cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast in this wonderful cafe in the heart of Galway. The five of us all ordered different dishes. I had a little entre envy when I first saw the traditional Irish breakfast and tex-mex fried eggs bowl dish that two of my friends ordered. My jealousy was short lived though because my pancakes (yes American pancakes, in Galway) were outstanding. So light and fluffy, yet buttery and melt in my mouth good. They might have had some lemon and ricotta in them. I'm not sure. Lots of Irish bacon was piled on top too. Perfect! I enjoyed a lovely pot of tea served in darling china, and a glass of orange juice as well. The desserts displayed looked amazing. I don't know how we made it out of there without buying some for the road. Our loss for sure. All of us raved about our breakfasts. Delicious meal in a super charming cafe. Make sure you check out the upstairs if you go.

We stumbled upon Caprice walking around Galway! We were drawn to the restaurant due to its super cute esthetic and cleanliness. We were sat immediately once we got there. The drinks were delicious and the food was to die for. Everything came out in a timely manner. Our owner/server was super attentive and sweet, you can tell she truly cares about her business. Can't recommend this place enough. Must try!!!

At the suggestion of a local we found Caprice to have breakfast and coffee before leaving Galway. The entire place is seriously Insta-worthy with all their beautiful decor and properly placed seating areas. I ordered the Tex-Mex breakfast dish which was potatoes (home fry style), avocado, salsa and black eyed peas with some white sauce topped with two over-easy eggs. I loved everything about it. The black eyed peas were interesting touch that I never would have thought to add to a dish like this. I also tired the "American" style pancakes that my friend had and as an American I can say these were better than any pancakes I've had in the US. I also had a caramel latte which was delicious. The staff was amazing - I thought it was interesting that it stated that they were a casual, stress free, "no fuss" type of atmosphere right on the menu. Our entire visit was lovely. Highly recommend checking out their second floor as it has more seating and super cute decor. If you're in the downtown Galway area needing something for breakfast or lunch, take a stroll down the unbeaten path to Caprice Cafe, you won't be disappointed.

Came here for our last breakfast in Galway. Located right by the castle bank. Menu is a single page, ranges from fruits and oatmeal to full breakfasts. I ordered the full Irish breakfast, swapped out the black pudding for an extra tomato (because I don't really like the pudding). Size of breakfast was great, toast was HUGE! Boyfriend got the cooked grapefruit and fruit porridge. Inside restaurant is very cute decor and the staff was very friendly.

Such a pretty spot to go to for any meal. It is in a great location in Galway on a not too busy street. The interior here is beautiful, bright and spacious. Each time I go here I notice another detail here that I admire (Obsessed with the stained glass!). This is an ideal spot to meet up with a group of friends as it is not too loud and they have plenty of tables to serve a small group of people. The brunch here was delicious, I got Eggs Royale for 13.95. It was a little pricey considering there was no side salad or anything with the dish - but still delicious to say the least. The coffee here is okay too not the best around but not bad. On another visit I got a burger which was good and a little pricey at 15.95 but came with chips and the quality of each ingredient was great! Staff are always really welcoming here and friendly. I will be definitely back to try their dinner menu.

The space itself is small and cozy, with just a handful of tables and a private room, which gives it that intimate, tucked‑away feel. I'd 100% go back. They offer two specialty cocktails and a wine list, and while the cocktail selection is limited, the wines are unique and fantastic -- definitely worth exploring. The food was outstanding across the board. The monkfish scampi isn't what you might picture, but it's fantastic -- super crispy and full of flavor. And you have to get the bread: tomato focaccia or brown bread, then topped with the fennel, thyme, and maple butter were all unforgettable. The bavette steak was delicious, and the mashed potatoes were truly out of this world. The sea trout was incredibly fresh; just a heads‑up that the gremolata is spread over the whole dish, so it ends up almost poached in olive oil -- worth noting for anyone sensitive to that, but the flavor itself was excellent. Definitely end the night with the affogato and the shortbread cookies (chef's kiss). Who doesn't like to dunk their dessert? Highly recommend, would absolutely come back.

The salad was spectacularly tasteful and fresh. I felt like the deer was a little too salty for my taste, but presentation was good. I was disappointed by the dessert. My ice cream was partially melted and the peaches were cold. I would give the environment/ambiance 5/5, service 5/5 and food 3.5/5. Overall 4/5.

From the outside, colorful signage and lush plant accents give off an inviting, sunshine-meets-Galway vibe; inside, the décor leans into greenery and relaxed seating that feels friendly and laid-back. There's a full, lush garden area within the actual restaurant, complete with bamboo barriers, palm fronds, wicker seating, and plush couches. At around 11:30am on a Sunday, my party of eleven was looking for a cute brunch spot close o the Galway train station as we arrived for a day trip. Thanks to the courteous staff and some table rearrangement, they were able to seat our large party almost immediately, despite the space being almost full. The menu isn't too extensive, but has a variety of brunch dishes (there's a bit of a conundrum in that they serve brunch until 12:30pm, but they don't begin serving lunch after 1pm; I wonder what they do in the meantime?). They've essentially taken brunch classics and added their own fun, tropical twist, such as their "Mojo Rojo Toast" and Huevos Rancheros with a Brazilian twist. There's also a comprehensive drink menu, with coffee/tea, smoothies, and fresh-pressed juices. I began with their Double Espresso (€2.80), which came in a tiny, cute cup, with homemade sugar cubes on the side. I will say that as a group, we found their espresso overly acidic as compared to others we've sampled in Ireland, but it did the job in getting me sufficiently caffeinated. Others in my group enjoyed their Chai Lattes (€4.50)! For my main dish, I opted for their Cinnamon & Orange French Toast (€14), which consisted of two hearty slices of crusty bread soaked in custard, topped with creamy mascarpone, tangy pineapple salsa, and a crunchy oat crumble. This was a lovely variety of flavors and textures, and I love how the unsweetened mascarpone provided a richness to the dish without any sweetness. There was also fresh orange slices and passionfruit on the side, which provided a tropical touch! I also enjoyed the small drizzle of caramel syrup and powdered-sugar dusting over the top, which was a thoughtful touch of sweetness. My one note is that I do wish the toast itself were soaked a bit longer in the custard, as I found it a bit dry. According to my group, other standout dishes included the Overnight Oat Jar (€7.50), the Huevos Rancheros (€16), and the Smashed Avocado on Toast (€14.50). We truly enjoyed our time at Jungle Cafe; service was kind and efficient, the food was tasty, and it strikes that sweet spot between café casual and just a bit out-there. In general, Jungle Cafe sits in the moderate price range for Galway; while I usually wouldn't pay €14 for French toast, the creativity and fresh ingredients made it feel worth the spend when you want a fun, vibrant meal. It's the perfect place for brunch with friends or a casual lunch after exploring the city.

The inside is beautiful - like a converted greenhouse/cottage with stone walls and lots of natural light. One of the first things I noticed was the pastry counter. It was absolutely stunning with gorgeous cakes and other sweet treats available by the slice. The menu is written on a large chalkboard at the far end of the cafe, which can be hard to read depending on where you're seated. I asked for the staff's recommendation and she said I should try the fried fish. It came served with slaw, salad, brown soda bread, beautiful yellow butter and the most perfect fried pieces of cod I think I've ever had. This was not your typical "fish and chips" style fish but instead, was seasoned to perfection with a bit of a crunchier, thicker batter. Wow, it was incredible. I was also so grateful for the side of slaw and salad as I think that was the first leafy green I had had in over a week since arriving in Ireland. The latte I ordered was also delicious and well made. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout my visit - all working together to efficiently service the lunch rush. I would totally come back here next time I'm in Galway. It is highly recommended for good reason so go see for yourself!
