This little cafe in Cong was such an adorable shop. We passed through on a pretty dreary, cold day so we stopped in for hot tea & hot chocolate for my husband. Great prices!! We didn't eat anything, but the cafe was full and everything people were eating looked great. If we visit again someday I would like to try the food.

We had the cauliflower cheddar soup and the kelly sausage sandwich. Both were delicious! Super friendly staff and cozy environment. This was my favorite meal while in Ireland.

This is a cute restaurant with awesome food and great service. The owner is the chef and her husband runs the front. After exploring Asheford Castle we were really hungry and this hit the spot. We started off with a flavorful cauliflower and cheddar soup. I had a salad of lovely things and I was really impressed with the quality of the salad: there was pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, pomegranate seeds, and sunflower seeds to spruce up the salad. My husband had a tuna and Irish cheddar melt. Also def try the homemade brown bread, it was one of the best we've tried in Ireland!

This is absolutely the best food we have had on our two week trip to Ireland! Stays very busy, but if you have to wait...do! It is well worth it! The apple/berry crumble and pastrami sandwich are both divine! The service is very fast and friendly. This is our second day to return for their amazing food!

It's closed. Fortunately other options were available in the area. The tourist center directed us to a couple of other choices

I also enjoyed a pot of tea with what I would have to suspect was homemade lemon meringue. Delicious! I also have to make note that they do also offer ice cream here. I was pleasantly surprised that they had bubble gum flavor. I have been looking for this flavor back home in the states with no success. Who would have guessed I would find it deep in the Irish countryside.

Puddleducks was the closest shop to the bus. Usually I'd wander a bit to find the "best" coffee option, but I was enchanted by this business' adorable name and didn't look any further. I wasn't the only one with the idea. While I was second in line, many more tour goers queued behind me. Only a couple girls were working at the time and looked somewhat frazzled by the sudden crowd. They suggested we grab seats to be served efficiently. However, I mentioned that I was looking for a takeaway rather than dine in and was served immediately. I ordered a vanilla latte without looking at the menu in advance. It was 2.50 euro and served fast and hot. It was so nice walking around in the slight chill and drizzle with the drink in hand. I'd recommend a stop to Puddleducks if you're in the area or your tour makes a pit stop.

The historical aspect of this part of the castle is particularly interesting, and we appreciated the history lesson given to us by our dinner server. The decor is in a similar style to the rest of the castle and is beautiful, extravagant, and well kept. Service was friendly but very slow for both meals. They have gluten-free options making ordering, if you're celiac, quite easy. Food was beautifully presented, and everything was good, but nothing really blew us away as far as our experiences with gourmet fine dining goes. It was all done well and innovative, but flavors were unexciting. Plating was marvelous. Prices are high. Breakfast was nice and came with our room due to how we booked. There was a mix-up with my food, and by the time I got my plate, my husband had been done eating for some time. It was a good breakfast, tho. Overall, it was a nice dining room of a caliber you would expect in this type of hotel.

We both ordered cod and it was crispy outside and soft inside, just the way I like it. For dessert, I had apricot soufflé which was yummy. Was she right!! Even though the listing here on yelp says breakfast and lunch, this is also a dinner restaurant. Shane took our reservation for 6 o'clock after checking the books and seeing that they had about 20 names down already. We shared an appetizer-sized portion of the calamari, and most of us agreed that we wished we had ordered it for our entrée because it was outstanding. The waiter said the secret is that it is never frozen, and I can only say that I've never tasted calamari that tender and flavorful, so perhaps he's right. Don't get me wrong: each of our entrées was delicious, but that calamari!... Their menu list their local suppliers, which must another secret to outstanding food. We also shared two desserts among the six of us: an Irish cream cheese cake and a chocolate tart. Both came on plates adorned with two fruit gastrics and a tiny dish of delicious vanilla ice cream; the desserts themselves were excellent.
