While walking around, we came across Pascal Coffee & Pancake. So decided to check it out on Yelp. It was a busy spot, but definitely worth the 15-minute wait. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food--absolutely delicious! Super tasty and full of flavor. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Amazing! We got an Iced Chai Latte, sunnyside bruschetta, a side of bacon, and the zesty blueberry pancakes. The drink was so good, the sunnyside bruschetta was delicious and the zesty blueberry pancakes were okay- not my favorite but that's more of a personal preference thing. The service staff was helpful and friendly and the food came out quick after ordering, especially for a Sunday morning. The area was clean with ample seating. The price is well worth what you get. Highly recommend this breakfast/brunch spot!

Bruschetta and American pancakes & bacon

Casual breakfast spot purported to have some of the best pancakes. They have American style pancakes and bacon, which was fun to see. There's two different locations in Galway. Indoor seating available. You order and pay at the counter first, and then they bring your food to your number. I got a strawberry banana smoothie as well as the bruschetta (a vegetarian option) while my friend got the pancakes and bacon. The food was tasty and came out fairly quickly. There is free wifi. Credit cards accepted.

The food at Pascal Coffee House was fantastic! I was a little skeptical as there were less than 10 reviews on Yelp, however, I convinced my boyfriend to try it - we were so glad we did! The pancakes here were fantastic. I got the Zesty Blueberry (pancakes with lemon curd & blueberries) and my boyfriend got the banoffee pancakes. They were to die for! I also got an oat vanilla latte, which was delicious as well. The cafe was cute & tucked away on a side street; but the service was so quick and (as mentioned) the food was delicious!

    Pancake sandwich & cappuccino.

I loved absolutely everything! The staff was so sweet and kind, I'm visiting so this was my first time here. I asked for the recommendation and was guided to the pancake sandwich. WHOA. Absolutely delicious, 2 pancakes, 2 sausages, 1 egg, and a boat load of bacon. I also ordered a cappuccino, yummy. Claudia provided exceptional service from the moment I walked in, explained the process and made sure everything was delicious. Stop on and say hi to Claudia and the crew, and enjoy a scrumptious meal.

    Irish breakfast hiding in pancakes

For my first morning in Galway I realized my hotel stay didn't include breakfast so...Yelp to the rescue. I saw Pascal's had a couple of nearby locations so I picked this one as it seemed to be the larger one. Jackpot! They specialize in pancakes, and these are the big fluffy kind us Yanks love and not the hey-these-are-really-crepes kind you sometimes get in Europe. Being my last day in Ireland I was torn between a traditional Irish breakfast and pancakes, so I "compromised" by ordering The Brunch Pancake that had egg, sausages and (excellent) bacon between two pancakes. They even prepped it like I prefer with egg whites only. Every part of it was delicious! To drink I got a basic latte and it was equally good. The restaurant was clean and modern with a comfortable vibe and free wifi as well. Bottom line: if you find yourself in Galway with a hankering for pancakes, you need to get on down to Pascal.

From the outside, colorful signage and lush plant accents give off an inviting, sunshine-meets-Galway vibe; inside, the décor leans into greenery and relaxed seating that feels friendly and laid-back. There's a full, lush garden area within the actual restaurant, complete with bamboo barriers, palm fronds, wicker seating, and plush couches. At around 11:30am on a Sunday, my party of eleven was looking for a cute brunch spot close o the Galway train station as we arrived for a day trip. Thanks to the courteous staff and some table rearrangement, they were able to seat our large party almost immediately, despite the space being almost full. The menu isn't too extensive, but has a variety of brunch dishes (there's a bit of a conundrum in that they serve brunch until 12:30pm, but they don't begin serving lunch after 1pm; I wonder what they do in the meantime?). They've essentially taken brunch classics and added their own fun, tropical twist, such as their "Mojo Rojo Toast" and Huevos Rancheros with a Brazilian twist. There's also a comprehensive drink menu, with coffee/tea, smoothies, and fresh-pressed juices. I began with their Double Espresso (€2.80), which came in a tiny, cute cup, with homemade sugar cubes on the side. I will say that as a group, we found their espresso overly acidic as compared to others we've sampled in Ireland, but it did the job in getting me sufficiently caffeinated. Others in my group enjoyed their Chai Lattes (€4.50)! For my main dish, I opted for their Cinnamon & Orange French Toast (€14), which consisted of two hearty slices of crusty bread soaked in custard, topped with creamy mascarpone, tangy pineapple salsa, and a crunchy oat crumble. This was a lovely variety of flavors and textures, and I love how the unsweetened mascarpone provided a richness to the dish without any sweetness. There was also fresh orange slices and passionfruit on the side, which provided a tropical touch! I also enjoyed the small drizzle of caramel syrup and powdered-sugar dusting over the top, which was a thoughtful touch of sweetness. My one note is that I do wish the toast itself were soaked a bit longer in the custard, as I found it a bit dry. According to my group, other standout dishes included the Overnight Oat Jar (€7.50), the Huevos Rancheros (€16), and the Smashed Avocado on Toast (€14.50). We truly enjoyed our time at Jungle Cafe; service was kind and efficient, the food was tasty, and it strikes that sweet spot between café casual and just a bit out-there. In general, Jungle Cafe sits in the moderate price range for Galway; while I usually wouldn't pay €14 for French toast, the creativity and fresh ingredients made it feel worth the spend when you want a fun, vibrant meal. It's the perfect place for brunch with friends or a casual lunch after exploring the city.
