Amazing to think we've been here for almost 3 years now and still haven't been to all the parks even in the very near vicinity! This park is located about a quarter mile down and across the street from Joanie Moser, and it's got a rather large, clean playground area, paved walking path, and a steep slope perfect for sledding! There were kids sledding down even with no sign of snow to come! Impressive, and I can't wait for the next nice day to come back!

Found this hidden gem very close to Winston-Salem downtown and loved every but of it!…read more We headed there on a chilly Sunday morning (would have been nicer ifnit was a bit warmer though) and were very impressed with what this place had to offer. They had ample amount of parking space, from there it was a short walk to the kids play area, the giant man made cliff at the edge of the quarry and what seemed to be vast hiking trails. The kids park was supposed to be closed for renovations, but people were enjoying it nonetheless with the sign thrown to the side. The cliff was really nice too, you get a glimpse of the downtown skyline, the clean water filled in the quarry alongwith the giant flower (curious to know the purpose of that)! We walked around a bit and it was great place to fly a drone as well if you have it. Its a great place spend your weekend morning or evening and hangout.

Three of the courts can be reserved for a fee, but the rest are always available for open play. The Winston Salem Pickleball Association uses this spot as well as others, so there's often people playing.

The kids enjoyed a picnic lunch on one of the many tables available, and this was outside of the picnic shelter, which was set for a rather large birthday party that day. Joanie Moser may not be impressive in terms of scale, but it is worth checking out and well maintained. Nice local spot to get the kids out of the house!

After driving 9 hours on our way to the NC shore, we decided to stop for the night. We checked in…read moreto our hotel and decided we must stretch our legs and do some walking. A quick search indicated that this greenway was nearby. What a great find! The paved path is approximately 1/2 -3/4 mile around a beautiful lake and includes several beautiful wooden bridges for taking photos, fishing and viewing the lake. The entire area is well-maintained and is wheelchair friendly. There is a large pier at one end of the lake for fishing and many fishing spots around the perimeter of the lake. The paved path is not directly by the lake, rather up the bank from the water's edge. There are several benches placed along the path for resting or taking in the scenery. We saw geese, ducks, turtles, and rabbits. Had we stayed longer, I feel certain we might have seen other wildlife. There was not a dedicated parking lot, but cars were parked along the road in the bike lanes. If I lived in the area I know that I would be a frequent visitor!

Located just south of Meadowlark Middle school, the park has ample parking, an EV charging station, a pavilion that can be reserved, picnic tables, grills, a dog park, and plenty of green areas to run around. Multiple paths also lead to the Muddy Creek Greenway where walkers, bicyclists, roller bladers and runners are welcome. Restrooms are also available at the pavilion. This park pretty much checks all the necessary boxes. My wife and I parked here to walk the greenway and then sat at the pavilion on a lovely day and just enjoyed the sights and sounds. Simplicity has its advantages!

Even though you're right off of Hawthorne, which is a major road, it feels like you're more rural…read morethan that. They did a good job of creating that feel with the stone walls and large fields. I wish the tennis courts allowed for pickleball, especially because they have lights and we don't really have any lighted options in Winston (except out in Old Town). That said, there is a bit of a homeless problem in the area that seems more manifest at night. Just a heads-up.

There's a track as well but I'm not sure if this is part of the park or the school. You can walk on the trails that go parallel to Peters Creek. They have several bridges you can use to cross back and forth. The trails do go under the Glade Street bridge on the south side (park boundary ends here). The bridge is a little sketchy with all the liter and graffiti. Never had any issues though. Overall, Hanes Park is a nice park to enjoy the day. Dog friendly too.

Overall Rich Park is a nice park right in the city of Mocksville. Lots of trees and activities for people of all ages. Nice place to run, walk or take your dogs for a walk, thanks to the trail expansions. As stated in my previous review, park has lots of play ground equipment, pavilions, and other resources to take advantage of.
