The entire park is well manicured. Clean and clear walking trails and pathways through the woods if thats what you prefer. Triad park is always maintained. I'm reluctant to share how awesome the park is because it is such a hidden gem. Forsyth and Guilford jointly are responsible for the park of 426 acres. There are a wide array of amenities. Bathrooms at every turn.

Growing up in VA whenever we went to a park it was all about woods, walking trails, bike paths, swing sets, slides, a small basketball court, and picnic tables. Every park I can remember was like this but these days when you hear the term park, it's refers to a small playground, a ball field, or a place with a swimming pool. Triad Park takes us back to what a park used to be with some modern amenities. Such as, beach volleyball courts, a rope course, a fishing pond, an amphitheater, several playgrounds which come with more than a swing and slide and sits on a rubber mat which is more safe than the pavement I used to play on, and much more. The park has many trails for walking and/or riding (bike) and I have enjoyed venturing most of them. I have been here for picnics, parties, site seeing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, sporting events, fishing and so much more. It's a true park and now it's home to the CAROLINA FIELD OF HONOR. This an awesome veteran memorial. The memorial serves as a recreational retreat, or for ceremonies and events honoring those that serve or has served. One last note... for those that are into Geocaching. There are several great hides here and room for a couple more. Take a day with the family and go enjoy this park.

Definitely worth a walk through the memorial if you are in the area! It is nicely done and it's nice to take it all in. Please check out my blog to read more about my visit to the memorial: https://practicallystacy.com/?p=430.

What a great park...this place has got it all, it covers over 430 acres and is super clean and well manicured to say the least, even the restrooms are spotless and built to look kinda like little log cabins, each of the little wooden restroom buildings also has soda and snack machines outside of them. I come here to do a little walkin' and this park has miles and miles of paved walkways and a number of well marked nature trails through the woods for hiking and biking. They also have 3 playgrounds and a rock climbing playground for the young tikes, they also have disc golf courses, a softball field, a soccer field, horsehoe pits, beach volleyball courts, a fishing pond (catch & release only), a number of really nice picnic shelters for rent and they also have a big outdoor amphitheater...may be time to get the band back together. The Carolina Field Of Honor is also located inside Triad Park, which is a super nice memorial for soldiers of all 5 branches of the military. The main part is a 57ft tall monument that looks like a small version of the Washington Monument and a waterfall type water feature around the monument along with a memorial wall around the outer perimeter. If you want to get outdoors and do some stuff, Triad Park is a great place.

There is even a creek if your kids enjoy water play. The trails are paved so it's excellent for riding bikes or scooters too. The playground itself has multiple slides, swings, plenty of obstacles for the kids to climb and what I found most fascinating was the monkey bars that were toddler height! I have never seen that on a playground before so it was very appealing to me since my child enjoys them but is always in need of assistance considering they are often so high. In addition to the playground there is a basketball court, skate park and tennis court. The park seems well maintained, the bathrooms are little dated so it would be nice to see an improvement with that one day. Great place to rent an outdoor shelter for a cookout or birthday party.
