Well paved trails, dedicated dog run areas with double fencing for large and small breeds with plenty of waste receptacles and water fountains, a basketball and Pickleball/tennis court, perfect for bringing your pets, going for a jog or just a peaceful walk. Plenty of picnic tables with grills for get-togethers. Two parking areas. A restroom set in the middle. Simply another nice little gem that the town of Kernersville.

There is even a creek if your kids enjoy water play. The trails are paved so it's excellent for riding bikes or scooters too. The playground itself has multiple slides, swings, plenty of obstacles for the kids to climb and what I found most fascinating was the monkey bars that were toddler height! I have never seen that on a playground before so it was very appealing to me since my child enjoys them but is always in need of assistance considering they are often so high. In addition to the playground there is a basketball court, skate park and tennis court. The park seems well maintained, the bathrooms are little dated so it would be nice to see an improvement with that one day. Great place to rent an outdoor shelter for a cookout or birthday party.

In my case, I live close enough to actually walk/run here and back. While there is a paved loop through the entire park which features an audio guide and numbered stops, it's actually a wonderful place to walk. In fact it feels almost European in sentiment as I rarely ever see cars driving through and more often see people walking, running, or biking. The park office and facilities are generally a bit outdated, but very informative about the park and the associated history of the American revolution connected to this place. There's a gift shop and daily staff there to answer any questions you may have. And the park teaches you perhaps the most important point: why the city took on the name of Greensboro. But I'll let you all visit and figure that one out for yourselves.

Apparently it is a popular hangout for locals in need of exercise (or with a dog). I got an extensive introduction in the visitor center, and after a brief perusal of indoor exhibits I walked the main loop. It had a variety of memorials and historical placards. The indoor exhibit also had placards, but these were supplemented by some hastily printed and taped on cards saying things like "additional context needed" while in most cases adding very little. Whoever came up with them probably thinks they are very smart, but I found the whole thing bizarre and best ignored. The trails are mostly paved, and offer a nice shaded walk on a hot day. I did not watch the historical documentaries, but they may be worthwhile. There is no entrance fee for the site.
