When you arrive, there is plenty of parking, a public restroom, and a playground. This is a perfect place to bring the family for some outdoor fun! We were very impressed with how clean the trail was. Throughout the trail, there are trash cans and benches for resting about every mile or so. The trail was also very flat! This is the perfect space to have a lunch as there are an abundance of tables and chairs for public use, and you'll have a great view of the fountains, green space, and the new/renovated buildings surrounding you. As far as facilities, there are public restrooms, a snack bar that is open on specific days and times, as well as a performance stage where I have seen some open air exercise and yoga classes holding a lesson every now and then. If you are a Pokemon Go player, there are many pokestops and gyms surrounding this area and within it. The park entrance can be found off North Sunset Drive and during busy times parking can be tight. Overflow parking can be found on Sunset Dr. or in YMCA parking lot. The park features 20 paved tennis courts, three baseball diamonds, two open fields and a quarter mile track. All fields are lower than average quality except for the baseball diamond along Reynolda Rd. which is where Reynolds High School has their home games. Of the 20 tennis courts the six next to the parking lot are the highest quality and often hold lessons and leagues. As a parent of toddlers the best part of the park is the well-constructed playground! It features two play structures and ample swings in a wood mulch bed. One play structure is aimed at a younger child while the other is for higher skill levels and towers three levels into the air! During high traffic times (Saturday mornings) it can get pretty crowded but usually slows down in the afternoon. In the summer, large trees provide some shade but the fact that Peters Creek runs through the center of the park can bring the mosquitos! Overall, this well-kept park is a great place to get you tennis fix or bring kids of all ages to burn off some pent up energy!

This park has a walking trail that is paved and stroller friendly, and a couple of playgrounds intersect this on either side. Looks like one playground also contains a splash pad, but this was closed off when we went. Not sure if because it was still early in the season or if it's still shut down due to the pandemic. On the other side of the parking lot is a unique outside gym area with several pieces of equipment. Elliptical, stepper, pull-up bars, resistance trainers, and signage accompanying with instructions. This is under a canopy and looks well maintained. Adjacent to this is also a court area for playing horseshoes and pétanque. They also host a friendly and free pétanque league here! I had to look up what pétanque was, and seems like it's very similar to bocce ball. I might join up this summer! They gather on Sunday afternoons.

Great trail for walking, running, walking the dogs or riding a bike. The Old Salem section of the Strollway is a 5 star. The trail takes you right past Old Salem. You will pass right by the Old Salem Visitors Center and the Heritage Bridge. You can cross over the street using the bridge and visit Old Salem if you like. The trail in this section is wide enough for all people coming and going. If you follow the Strollway south you will end up at the Greenway, which you can take to Winston-Salem State or Salem Lake to the west, or Washington Park to the east, but that is another review. You do have to cross over a busy street (Salem Avenue) but there is a nice wine shop on the other side. The northern route past Old Salem takes you to downtown and ends at 4th Street. This takes you under Business 40 and past Corpening Plaza park. Nice part of this section is you end up right into the heart of all of the downtown restaurants on 4th Street. This section requires crossing 3 streets in downtown. The only reason I don't have the Strollway rated 5 stars is the section running under Business 40 can be a little sketchy. This will change after the Business 40 renovations are completed.
