Another great little park in the Triad! This one has a small functioning splash pad, which is great for the kids on a hot day! It's free to get in and free to use the splash pad, and there's a decent playground structure right next to it. The kids love to run from the splash pad to the playground and back and forth, and the big slide becomes a bit like a water slide! The playground is a bit rusted metal, but it looks pretty safe. They have swings and a picnic shelter as well. There is also a basketball court off to the side, and I think there's a walking trail too, but I didn't get to go look. They have a grill there for use and bathrooms in the shelter too. This park is located in a residential area in the country club section of Winston, and even with a party there it didn't seem overly congested. The splash pad has both small fountain sprayers that are appropriate for babies and toddlers and some larger soakers for big kids and adults to cool off with as well. Definitely will be back soon!

This is probably our favorite park for multiple reasons. One it's super close to our house another bring it has an awesome splash pad in the summer.. from May until October. It has a large clean playground as well as a basketball court. It's conveniently located a few turns off of country club road near Silas creek parkway. The kiddos love it as do the parents.

Wonderful place to take kids during summer! Hours of free fun running around in the water play area. 5 -6 covered pick nick tables and two grills. Also a playground and walk pathway.

This is a great little neighborhood park off of Country Club. They have a great playground with a splash pad. There is also a basketball court and a shelter with bathrooms. I like the fact that it is quiet but offers a lot for kids to play with. They also have swings and part of the playground has rubberized floor cover.

A sprawling park in Winston-Salem's historic West End neighborhood which has amenities for all ages…read moreand activities! The park entrance can be found off North Sunset Drive and during busy times parking can be tight. Overflow parking can be found on Sunset Dr. or in YMCA parking lot. The park features 20 paved tennis courts, three baseball diamonds, two open fields and a quarter mile track. All fields are lower than average quality except for the baseball diamond along Reynolda Rd. which is where Reynolds High School has their home games. Of the 20 tennis courts the six next to the parking lot are the highest quality and often hold lessons and leagues. As a parent of toddlers the best part of the park is the well-constructed playground! It features two play structures and ample swings in a wood mulch bed. One play structure is aimed at a younger child while the other is for higher skill levels and towers three levels into the air! During high traffic times (Saturday mornings) it can get pretty crowded but usually slows down in the afternoon. In the summer, large trees provide some shade but the fact that Peters Creek runs through the center of the park can bring the mosquitos! Overall, this well-kept park is a great place to get you tennis fix or bring kids of all ages to burn off some pent up energy!

I wish the tennis courts allowed for pickleball, especially because they have lights and we don't really have any lighted options in Winston (except out in Old Town). That said, there is a bit of a homeless problem in the area that seems more manifest at night. Just a heads-up.

Great trail for walking, running, walking the dogs or riding a bike. The Old Salem section of the Strollway is a 5 star. The trail takes you right past Old Salem. You will pass right by the Old Salem Visitors Center and the Heritage Bridge. You can cross over the street using the bridge and visit Old Salem if you like. The trail in this section is wide enough for all people coming and going. If you follow the Strollway south you will end up at the Greenway, which you can take to Winston-Salem State or Salem Lake to the west, or Washington Park to the east, but that is another review. You do have to cross over a busy street (Salem Avenue) but there is a nice wine shop on the other side. The northern route past Old Salem takes you to downtown and ends at 4th Street. This takes you under Business 40 and past Corpening Plaza park. Nice part of this section is you end up right into the heart of all of the downtown restaurants on 4th Street. This section requires crossing 3 streets in downtown. The only reason I don't have the Strollway rated 5 stars is the section running under Business 40 can be a little sketchy. This will change after the Business 40 renovations are completed.
