    Playground equipment
    Kathy K.

Really nice playground equipment-not great for toddlers-but there were some three and four year olds who seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were about 15 kids on the playground and about eight more at the bottom of the hill on the swings. The Equipment looks new and it is on Astroturf. Lots of space to run and play. A soccer field, parking, bathrooms, a water fountain plus a baseball field were within walking distance. A basketball court was across the parking lot. It seemed like a lot of kids to me but one of the ladies that's a regular said it's even busier on the weekends. Still... It was fun to see grandmas and granddad's, Moms and Dads, teenage siblings and kids playing together on the playground. Beautiful paths with trees for walking. Saw several people walking their dogs. No cost and fun for the whole family. Fun way to spend a few hours.

This large park would seem to be the main spot for recreation in Lexington. Two large baseball/softball fields, a smaller little league baseball field, a soccer field, a basketball court, several picnic shelters and a lake with a dock. It's pretty impressive. There is plenty of parking. I didn't notice any sketchy people, but yes it is located near the prison. So there's that. [Review 11887 overall, 1669 of 2019.]

The kids always have a good time at Finch Park. They've got swings, a nice playground area, picnic tables, open fields, baseball fields, and walking track. One of the swings is way too high up for anyone other than Shaq to get on though lol!

I've been to Finch Park since I was very young. I love how much they keep improving to make it better! It's a great place to take the kids to kill some energy, or if you're looking for somewhere hike without going out of town. They have a big jungle gym, swings, and a huge patio area for games like four square, hopscotch, etc. They have a stage for performances, like during our multicultural festival. A huge pond with ducks and geese. Three or four different ball fields are available as well. They also have a decent amount of shelters for birthday parties or company outings. Each shelter has two or three large trash bins and a small grill, as well as picnic tables. Very inexpensive to rent out! You'll have to call the city's recreational dept for renting information. You're not allowed to bring you own grill due to the park being in the city limits. But we had a company outing for at lest 100 people and we brought our own grills, they never bothered us about it. The pond is a good decent size and has a small pier to fish off or just sit. There is a trail around the whole park where you can ride bikes or hike. There is also a hike at your own risk trail that goes further through the park. It's not dangerous, but there are a lot of limbs what not in the way. It takes you down to the open water area. Please be careful for there isn't anyone around to save you if you fall in! Very friendly park. The ranger is nice and will assist if needed. I haven't been to their restrooms, but I can imagine it's as good as it can get. Love coming here!

Finch Park is the place to be. Enjoy the great outdoors while this virus continues. You will be glad you stopped here.

Nice park with a few different trails. Half mile loop around the pond. Nice play area and there is a restroom.

There are picnic tables, a covered pavillion, disc golf course, public restrooms, with developed parking and its dog friendly. As well, river access for kayaking, fishing and water activities. We took an afternoon drive out to the park and it is definitely worth the effort and time. Legend has it, that Daniel Boone as a boy and his family first used the cave in one manner or another around 1751. There are numerous developed trails with a trailhead at the top. The walk down to the cave is pretty serious, its built wooden steps but its a serious climb down and even more so up. This is the only drawback to visiting the cave. If you are not prepared to climb back up, I didn't count them but its a couple hundred steps easily. Its an impressive build, but it is a serious climb coming back up. 4 Stars a cool historical park and worth a visit 01166

Watch for snakes and tons of spider webs. I brought bug spray for extra protection. Some of the trails were blocked due to flooding but there was no longer a floss coming through, just hadn't been removed. Really enjoyed the strenuous part of the trail. Not advised for smaller children or elderly due to incline and no railing

The North Carolina Vietnam Memorial is located in the wooded area between the two rest areas here along I-85 in Thomasville NC. As with others, the memorial lists the 1620 names of those who died fighting in the "Vietnam Conflict" from North Carolina and also lists their counties. It is made from North Carolina brick. It is a short walk from either, or you can drive from the southbound one. What is relatively unique is that the highway is actually crossed over between exits 96 and 102, making each of the exits a right-lane one even though it is between the two highways. You can still hear the traffic faintly, even from inside the circle. [Review 11685 overall, 1467 of 2019.]

I took a walk down the stair to the lovely park and left a few kindness rocks behind to spread love out into the world before walking and hoping to find a few doe, alas there were no deer but there were a few bees in flowers. I walked back up. It's a lovely area, it may not be Huge and with statues but it's a somber and respectful memorial to the dead of the Vietnam conflict.
