I typically would rate any outdoor historical free space a five but this one was not easy to navigate or marked with informative information like others. We went here got some walking in (step steps steps). Looked around and just left. It is interesting to imagine what life was like while Daniel Boone was in that tiny little cave.

Nice park with trails to explore along the river & a couple of caves with history of Daniel Boone. We went during the winter but will definitely return for a hike & bring a picnic.

It's honestly a home run for my family. We use bug spray before we go and don't have issues as mentioned by a previous poster. The trails are great! It's always slow there which makes it even nicer for us. The trails are well marked and the history of the area makes it even better. I honestly can't think of a better natural work out. It's not for someone who's not ready to do the work.

I was really disappointed because I tried to go here and Dunn's National reserve. Both have their hours posted incorrectly so I drove for 45 minutes and could not get in.

A small park, but nice. You will need to bring your own drinks. There is a few parking spaces. A few short trails if you need to expend some energy. There is a picnic shelter here that can be rented. If you are looking to put your canoe or kayak in the river, you will need to notify the park staff. Just don't expect much here.

Easy walk around the park, very quiet on a winter weekday. The trail markings were easy to follow.

One in my favorite places to be outside. Never crowded, lots trails, nice tent camping spots and access to the yadkin river.

Great nature hike and a place to picnic and just enjoy the river and the wooded land.

Legend has it, that Daniel Boone as a boy and his family first used the cave in one manner or another around 1751.

The North Carolina Vietnam Memorial is located in the wooded area between the two rest areas here along I-85 in Thomasville NC. As with others, the memorial lists the 1620 names of those who died fighting in the "Vietnam Conflict" from North Carolina and also lists their counties. It is made from North Carolina brick. It is a short walk from either, or you can drive from the southbound one. What is relatively unique is that the highway is actually crossed over between exits 96 and 102, making each of the exits a right-lane one even though it is between the two highways. You can still hear the traffic faintly, even from inside the circle. [Review 11685 overall, 1467 of 2019.]

I took a walk down the stair to the lovely park and left a few kindness rocks behind to spread love out into the world before walking and hoping to find a few doe, alas there were no deer but there were a few bees in flowers. I walked back up. It's a lovely area, it may not be Huge and with statues but it's a somber and respectful memorial to the dead of the Vietnam conflict.
